Thank you this is really helpful as I am recovering from vertigo. Reminding myself of what my body is meant to do and to stop stiffening up against natural movement.

Hi Ravi, Thanks for your comment, glad you're enjoying the videos. I made a video on how to sit comfortably on the floor here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kBZyI625T7I.html And this video about forward head posture should help with using the tablet: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--FkVFBuAtBM.html and also this one about using a mobile phone: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZI2g3J9mIEU.html Hope they answer your question!

How could we improve bunion bones on the large toe please
@MovementandPosture
@MovementandPosture Год назад
Unfortunately, Bunions aren't likely to be improved by using the Alexander Technique. Usual management of this condition includes changing footwear and possibly surgery. Where Alexander Technique can help is in making sure that the bunions don't cause you to start using your legs in a way that causes problems with the rest of the body. Learning to stand and walk with better coordination and less effort will make you feel more comfortable even with the bunions. All the best.

Use toe spreaders such as Joya Toes to realign the bones of the toes.

I have noticed that when I balance while standing, and I sway a little back (with the weight a little more on my heels) my body seems to release up. However, I'm not sure if this is correct, as I feel the weight is much more on the heels than the front part of the foot. Do you think I'm doing it correctly, as I seem to relase upward when this happens?
@MovementandPosture
@MovementandPosture Год назад
I think that bringing more weight into the heels can really help with getting the body to release up. As most of our habits tend to pull us forwards and downwards, this helps to counter the tendency and gets our backs working again. Having our weight too much on our heels will make it harder to balance and will restrict mobility though so the trick is to keep that sense of upward release but move the weight back to a more central point of the foot. Also, if you're used to having too much weight on the front of the foot, bringing your weight back to a central balance will feel like you are on your heels because it's unfamiliar. Hope that makes sense!
