Still listening in 2022? We re-pressed 'She Watched the Sky' with two variants still available for pre-order! www.merchbucket.com/collections/a-skylit-drive
@@skywolftheblack9251 nobody asked for your opinion. jordan is my homie hes a good person idk how he was ages ago but hes really redeemed himself and has bounced back..be happy for his growth
@@skywolftheblack9251 they literally didn't when Asd ended it was just jag and his replacements a cover band if you will at that point, jag treated none of them like friends only business partners because thats all he cared about was business. not to mention how hes acting now since the original line up reunion. slapping the ASD name on signals songs passing them off as ASD and before that he kicked everyone off the original page after his signals page didn't blow up and changed the a skylit drive name to signals so it looked like he had more of a following. sure wires was a special album and his time with the band was when they made their most success but we all know where that "true" a skylit drive sound is and its with the original line up considering they were the instrumentalists on the first 4 albums so he can go ahead and slap the name on whatever instrumental he wants in the end...hes just a voice not the true sound. #ogasd #shewatchedthesky
im 37 and this is still on my playlist, the sad thing is... no one likes my music! so i dont get to share it or jam it out loud. P.S. its 2018, maybe its time to give it up......... NEVER!
I am also in my 30's and I checked out your playlist and I LOVE your music. it's exactly what I listen to :-). will never give up post-hardcore and all the music styles that are related to it.
RIP Jordan Blake. No ASD album will ever come close to what you guys captured with “She Watched the Sky.” Atmosphere, lyrics, so much depth. Melodies on top of harsh riffs+breakdowns. Literally set the stage for other bands to emulate which they did. Amazing. Such a shame all the drama with Jag and the rest of ASD before they came back as She Watched the Sky. Rumor has it Blake’s lyrics are what were used for “Wires…” so, yeah. RIP to an absolute legend
This song is a great example of why I will always prefer Jordan Blake's high tenor voice over Jag's. So much emotion and the epic screams while also hitting lots of clean D5s. This song always has reminded me of my favorite Scary Kids Scaring Kids song, 'The Bright Side of Suffering.' Both songs are great examples of pure emotion and epic climaxes.
i thought the screaming was done by other singer but discovered was done by jordan mainly too with additional suport for the other dude which make this EP even more epic
DAMN I miss those good old post hardcore days! ASD w/ Jordan, Blessthefall w/ Craig, Escape the Fate w/ Ronnie, Saosin w/ Anthony, From First to Last w/ Sonny. I feel so old right now! :(
@@taliesinpotter4097 nope, Jag first appeared on Wires and the concept of breathing. The She Watched the Sky EP was the only release that Jordan was on.
As of june 11th im 40 years old... ive had a love for music that i cant quite understand. That most in my life cant understand. This is one of my favorite all time songs!!!
Im not a thief im a treasure hunter is my fav from them And i understand your plight Others lacking an understanding for my musical taste is my problem too
This song and Drown the City make this one of tbe greatest EPs ever released. RIP Jordan, glad I got to randomly meet you in a mall just by chance years ago. Had no camera or anything for an autograph, all I have is the memory.
It's 2021 now and damn this song is still good, brings back good memories, hope everyone here is having a blast from the past and hopefully this year is better, peace my dudes
No other band sounds remotely close to ASD. Honestly took me a while to like them because they were so unique. Ten mixture of melodic riffs, breakdowns, lyrics etc .. love it
They did a 15 year anniversary he’s back in the band there’s some dumb legal shit with the name, but if you look up ASD hey nightmare live you’ll see a bunch of videos from recent, and he’s get better each performance
@@straingoods2090 Well shit. I was hoping this was just someone trying to troll me into googling it, but this is legit. RIP Jordan, sorry that the world was so hard on such a great person.
Run, for your life now Don’t you see your princess is gone? Pull your vengeance aside Let’s make it rain blood tonight Collide your sword with mine, I’ll send your soul To the hell where it came from By this I know you’ll never set your eyes On a quest you can’t survive It’s no surprise your head hangs from my hands Your mouth can’t sin or lie Cut through the limbs Stab through the enemies' eyes Any last man will die [x2] She, watching the sky burn oh how it burns Run for the skylines, run for the skylines darling Follow the light of the moon just to stay alive Forgive me For tomorrow If I’m late I’ve died before I wake Cut through the limbs Stab through the enemies' eyes Any last man will die [x2] What’s left for you You, you wanted life I showed you love Conserve protect your life Conserve your life Conserve protect your life Conserve your life Your life is my well being And if it lay in the shadows then so be it But let it be known that this soldier will not rest a day Until he lays in the glamour and the grace of his bride I will not rest one day until my victims blood is shed Up and down the shorelines Up and down the shorelines For God's sake please Don’t you forget me I will wait for you [x2] Race the sun Pray for nothing warm
RIP crazy how much this album has on my taste in music, you just dont know how good something you're listening to is until you come back a decade later
Ill be 33 this year. Not a year has gone by since i was 15, that i havent listened to this album at least once. The nistalgia brings a tear to my eyes. Then i just get on here this year, and find out Jordan passed away. From addiction no less. Im 10 months sober now. Ive been using substances since i was 19. This album now hits me harder than it ever did before. RIP Jordan. You were an inspiration and shaped my music taste. A true pioneer who never got the creditbhe deserved..
I loved this A Skylit Drive. And I still do. True post hardcore sound with Jordan Blake singing. I had never had more respect for him then when he took the time to watch my old band when no one else would live.
crying bc memories of all the small venues these guys played at before main stages and how fucking great they stayed when they got big time, these guys where my warm up for wrestling tourneys in high school :')
***** they are known for liking final fantasy so a lot of there songs are influenced by the game. The beginning of the song is a good reference. It's not specifically referring to final fantasy.
@@roymilla6636 I hate when people use that term, because it's just the lazy way of not comprehending subcultural differences, and usually when you correct someone they're just like "nah, it's screamo" Trying to explain the difference between emo and goth and scene, and people just don't listen to it lol, even though they're all completely different culturally.
Nah it's not this sounds nothing like hardcore music at all . Look up original post hardcore man it still actually hardcore in it . I like this album a lot but it's emo man
+Corinne Norman i'm far away from their country. but RU-vid give me chance to see them free :p . if i were in their country or your country that would be great :DDD
