this pan in smile was a biiiiiig let down- my favorite part of your videos....Seriously, this was one of the best videos out there- Specifically, the "Overview of the Lesson" section, you are explaining exactly what you are doing , what chord you are on and what scales you are doing etc... I learned a ton from this Thanks DB
Another great lesson, Damian! You are the best rockabilly teacher. I've picked up a lot from you over the past couple of years. Ultimate rockabilly is a fantastic course! Thanks so much!
I havent watched the lesson yet, but had to pause the video to say that your shirt is awesome. I actually met James Murphy randomly in public near tampa bay when I was visiting.
Thanks for watching Dennis. Yes, it's a new guitar. It is a limited edition G5230 Electromatic Jet FT in Daphne Blue. Which is only available through Chicago Music Exchange & Andertons.
You are showing some things I’ve been wanting to be taught not covered by my guitar teacher.. I knew the theory, but you are spot on with your teaching method. Kudos.
I learned this a few months ago, but due to my age (83), I have to regularly refresh and go over things again. I would like to say that this sounds just as good as when I played it first time around .... love your lessons Damian .... and, eventually they go into my long term memory. Thank you once more.
I've been playing guitar for over 20 years, mostly death metal, metalcore, hardcore, stuff like that. So I go to play this stuff and I'm shocked that I can play it, and it sounds as good as it does! I NEVER had a clue I could play rockabilly riffs, blues rock, jazz, until I found channels like this. So thank you Damian. I REALLY appreciate the riffs and the tabs.
I’m a longtime follower Damian and I have your courses. I highly recommend them. It would be great if you did a biographical video sometime. How you got into music, your performing history and so on. Your many fans would enjoy it!
Thank you Timothy for watching and for all the support from over the years. I really appreciate it. Also thanks for the suggestion. That would be fun to make. I also was thinking of doing a Q&A video sometime soon as well. Keep on rockin' my friend. :)
@@kerryfromaj9032 - Hey Kerry, yes Damian’s channel is aces. I found this one a good bit before finding our friend the cat’s channel 😉 I think you will like the baritone if you get one. Seems like a lot of folks really like the Danelectro ones. I don’t have any regrets on my Squier Tele.🤠
Yet another great lesson, simple idea - but really effective and authentic. Love the new guitar 😀 I've been thinking of getting the same one !!!!!!!! Cheer's
Great lesson, Damian. You explain things so well. Your lessons are really well-constructed with example, explanation, and step by step instruction. Fantastic!
Thanks for watching. Other favorites were Morbid Angel & Entombed. But in the late 80s & early 90s I enjoyed bands like Kreator, Destruction, Death Angel, Sodom & Slayer.
Nice! I fumbled my way through my first rock'n'roll solo recently on a song I recorded, playing on either the E and B strings, or the B and G together, but I see now where a few slight changes to what I'm fretting would make it much sweeter! I always learn something from every one of your videos, that you very much! 🙂👍
@@Damianblf I really am! 🙂👍 I've been singing, and playing rhythm guitar or bass in bands since 1985, but for the first time, I'm having to play lead breaks! 😯 It's scary stuff! 😁
Do you have a video of you showing off all your beautiful guitars? If not you should make one. I'd love to see them. You got some beauts from the few videos I've seen so far
Well done Damian! Double stops work in many styles of music, and this example gives great tips on what works and why. P.S. Dig that great Gretsch sound!
Thank you very much and thanks for the suggestion about creating a Rockabilly sound tutorial. Usually I'm playing through a tube amp whether it's a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, AC30 or a Supro Delta King. The only effects pedals I've been using in my videos for the past few years have been a Analog Alien Rumble Seat when I play Rockabilly and Noturne's Jr. Barnyard paired with a Boss FRV-1 '63 Fender Reverb pedal when I'm doing Jump Blues. With all the different lessons I do, I find that I'm constantly changing my settings on the amps. Thanks for watching & keep on rockin'. :)
Awesome! Thanks Damian. Just curious at time 2:50 you mention using double stops from the 4th chord, DMinor and D Major Pentatonic scales ,as it's in the key of A major what's the reason to use D minor? Thankyou
Hi Rajesh. Thanks for the question. One way to solo over the chord changes of a 12 bar blues is to match a scale of the chord that is being played. I chose to play the D min & maj pentatonic scale because the 4 chord in the A blues progression is a D7. Thanks for watching & Keep on rockin' :)
Hey Damian! How bout a clip of your interpretation of My Baby Left Me? I never realized how Scotty’s playing sounds like a hillbilly horn section. The picking on the D7 chord is nuts. Anyway, just and idea. Greetings from Jacksonville..
Thank you very much. This new Gretsch of mine is a limited edition G5230 Electromatic Jet FT in Daphne Blue. Which I believe is only available through Chicago Music Exchange & Andertons.
Sorry I don't. Usually I'm playing through a tube amp whether it's a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, AC30 or a Supro Delta King.
