This is my first video, so please excuse the recording.
This video will show you a trick on how to install brushes over an armature when you can't get the armature out.
All DC motors have these brushes and they wear out, replacing them is simple, but getting the motor back together can be difficult as the brushes are in the way.
This particular motor has 4 brushes, many just have 2, but the are all basically the same. They provide electricity to the armature, which creates a magnet field, and that field makes the motor spin.
Some motors like this have these small little holes at the end of the housing where the brushes slide, if you have these holes, it makes it even simpler. All you have to do there is slip a thin wire like a guitar string into them to keep the brushes from coming out and just pull that wire out pretty much the same way you see here.
I'm all about "doing it yourself". So if there is something you'd like to know how to do, leave a comment!
