Events: You accidentally recorded these in when you were first using FL and you had to learn how to get rid of them. Now you are learning to use them right.
Events: learning how to use them then transform them into an automation clip then trying to find the automation so you can rename it and place it on the playlist appropriately because you're obsessive about how clean the playlist is...
I really really like your videos. They are very educational and I actually like to "compare" your style to InTheMix, just because the video and knowledge quality is so dang high and helpful. Thank you for keeping up and teaching us the more complicated things
You can also also draw freely in events with Left Alt + LMB or you can create straight lines with just dragging your RMB across the event area. Thank you Navie D for all your informative videos!
This is super useful, it really opens up a whole new world for people to give their melodies a boost. Even if you don't have expensive plugins most daws have the parameters in stock plugins you just gotta do some digging. 👍
This world is a shame, when the best beat making instructor on the planet is not on the 1 mi + subs team. I`m broke right now, but i garantee you that when i got the money i`m gonna buy your PREMIUM COURSE and donate if possible. Thank you so much for all this knowledge man, you`re the oracle of this art!
Damn! Navie D taking us down into the nitty-gritty of beat production, down to the hidden gems. The beat you made for the tutorial is a straight-up banger 🔥🔥🔥 wish I could listen to it in full.
I feel like you from the past is teaching me in the present, to help me succeed in the future. I’ve watched many producer tutorials, but you literally have the absolutely best, content. Each video is like adding a game changer for tricks of the trade. Thank you for everything.
Excellent tutorial, I thought I was the only one using edit events!! Hopefully more and more people will become hip to clip base automation and FL will streamline the process in future releases. One thing I see you did not mention is using Edit Events for audio clips. In the play list where you have your audio clip make an empty pattern clip underneath. Then go tweak the knob you like as always and choose edit events , make sure you are on that pattern or in focus while you go through the linking process. Then simply double click on that empty pattern in the playlist and walla the edit event window opens !! No need to go into menus or sub menus...one more thing, there is a knob icon in the toolbar, if it isnt there then edit the tool bar and place it there. What you can do with this knob icon is after you tweak something you can right click it and select edit events also auotmation clip etccc.
@@NavieD Almost, couple differences for 1. You can fit as many different events into one clip from different sources i.e 1 from eq and say another from camel crusher etcc as many as you want riding in that one clip, from the drop down menu you can select which to edit. With automation clip you would need several track lanes to stack them underneath your audio which most people proceed in grouping to avoid clutter. 2nd difference is you can draw wierd shapes ad duplicate with ctrl B after highlighting a section. And 3rd more of a preference ease of use with the grid and line smoothing capabilities. In auotmation clips, its a bit clunky for me. Also you can double click the event editor pattern and it opens up ready to roll, with automation clips you gotta enlarge the playlist to get in there...
Just blew my mind. I've been hitting the record button and recording the playing of the mod wheel on a separate pattern. had no idea you could edit the automation event in the piano roll!
@@NavieD yep! exactly that. I'm assuming I can edit the event the same way you did in the video. excited to test it out now! thanks for all the gems man
@@NavieD Im sure it can be developed to show the full potential of this - like is it possible to edit events to have ADSR control over sampled libraries like the Spitfire audio BBC Orchestra?
bro i recommend putting EVENTS in your video title, I was looking for this video I had watched before because i forgot how to edit events in piano roll and I couldn't find it; trying to help out your SEO, thanks for the content, peace
Just a heads up, when trying to edit events/automation for 3rd party VSTs you can follow the same first step of moving the knob but then there is a button on the toolbar that looks like a radial knob, and if you right click that it will bring up the same menu as the one that was shown in the video. Saves a little time.
Sounds crazy but you are spot on fpr me male Virgo done dirty by female Gemini... I was literally in tears sobbing about an hr before seeing this video thank u so much for your love and encouragement it was very special to me.. Im a man im not supposed to cry but when a real man cry thats real pain ... Thank u.
Not yet, I tend to stay away from mixing and mastering tutorials since not many people watch them. Can you send me a beat of yours for example that you'd want to fix?
So basically "Edit Events" is a more pattern-specific, decent alternative when one doesn't have an actual Mod Wheel, right? Just wanted to be totally sure on things, and nice video, sir! God Bless. 💯💯💯💯
Im using bandlab on my phone which yes I know very limited, but doesn't anyone know if this typenof sound is possible? Theres modulation, distortion, etc on there but I'm not sure if I could achieve this bending waving sound.
isn't this the same of automating stuff? i mean you could automate that cutoff using the last tweaked - create automation clip and then shape your automation as you like
hey Navie, I tried using this for my chrous which uses the rhodes piano from the flex plug in, and the event is appearing on my bass line and isn't affecting anything, I haven't finished the video(i watch and work), but do you have a good idea why. I tried going to generators>into selected event> right click to edit event> and still can't figure it out
Well all 3 have different properties to them. Strings will be long and consistent, bells will be short and plucked, and pianos are somewhere in between. So it depends on how much space you want your chords to take up, and how many more layers you want to add. The more you want to add, the less consistent and dense you may want your chords to be
@@realjustiice but it's learnable! I can't read notes nor can I name the cords. But, I can play! So, as me I play guitar, drums, bass etc etc and I have learned that everything u set ur eyes on u can learn it... No, it's not easy, I never said it would be easy😊 with love and passion 😉
Yea learning piano literally saves and make it easier just Learn the chords and itd be super duper easy trust me I mean if you know guitar chords piano chords is a cake
