Hey Guys! Here are our thoughts on the Air movie.
Air follows early Nike employee Sonny Vaccaro, played by Matt Damon, as he attempts to sign Michael Jordan to an endorsement deal. Air is directed by Ben Affleck who also stars as Phil Knight. Other actors in Air include Viola Davis, Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, Matthew Maher, and Marlon Wayans. It released in theaters on April 5, 2023.

Saw it last night. Such a great film! The nostalgia was great, the fact they didn’t show mike’s face was great, and I love how they portrayed Mrs Jordan as the powerful woman she is. The “be like mike” commercial at the end got me. Those were such great days.

I liked the movie a lot, I remember watching the Sonny Vaccaro documentary on ESPN a few years ago, so I sort of had an idea of what to expect. This does look like a movie where you don’t necessarily have to like sneakers or even know about sneakers. It’s a nice, feel good kind of movie. Watching the sneaker shopping episode with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Chris Tucker was also great to see, it felt very genuine that they liked being around each other

Yeah I was laughing out loud 😂 Chuck is one of the most entertaining basketball personas on TV. Also it was funny how they dismised Stockton for basically playing somewhere nobody knows where. While he wasn't very marketable, he became top 7-10 pg of all time eventually.

Ok Chris my opinion on the movie and plus I’m a OG sneaker head at 48 I didn’t have too study Micheal Jordan I live his moments coming in the NBA shoes were too expensive for my single father so when I got up n age I bought my own😊 but besides that the movie wasn’t that great for several reasons….I hope they leave it alone glad Jordan’s staying at the price they are people though movie would impact the market so thank god of that…one thing for sure that Nike has to do better with is there own marketing and supply demand too keep the shoe market at a sustainable price back door and resellers killing the fuk out the market

The one thing i really wanted to see from this movie was how Peter Moore got the Air Jordan Wings logo, because the story was told how he looked at a flight attendant's pin and then sketch the wings with the basketball in the center and used it as his centerpiece for micheal's air jordan line. Also Sonny's speech that shows Micheal into the future with his performance, the free throw line dunk, him sitting down with jordan brand shoes, him falling from a new york knicks game in 1995 (i think) and seeing that greatness he was talking about almost got me teary eyed. Amazing performance from Matt Damon.

More than commenting on the Movie I will focus on the Chris bit right before the end about "reviewing the same shoe over and over again..." I been following the channel a bunch of years now from the time it was just Chris and a camera looking at the shoes. I really love them, specifically the basketball ones, I'm old enough to remember them when they pop up first time, old enough to have stop playing ball for physicals reasons and still buying them anyways because I simply love them. But the Jordan1 thing is something quite difficult for me to fully understand. They are no comfy, the usually get bad materials & bad QC. And this is coming from a huge Jordan fan... Why I watch the channel when nowadays is about the Jordan1 most of the time? For when you get a review of something different that is not on a different channel because is no hype enough or is downright uncool these days (AND1, Puma, Rebook etc.) but most of all because I really like you guys, you really seem to like the shoes truly... shout out tho the WearTesters Spanish channel too!

Great history and very well done. Though I still feel they didn't make Sonny quite scumbaggy enough. Haha. Also, we thought the same thing about a potential sequel. Watched this last night in a pair of Concord 11s lol, loved the movie from start to end, the soundtrack was fantastic, all of the actors were brilliant. Affleck did a really good job of making me feel like we’re in the ‘80s getting a first hand account of what Nike was going through at the time. I think I understand Jodi’s critique of Marlon Wayans’ scene; while I believe the cinematography was intended, in order to help express the emotion from that moment, it still felt a little contrived.

Great to hear both your opinions on the movie. After watching it, my wife wanted to watch “the last dance” again. Then I showed her espn’s 30 for 30 documentary “sole man” that has Sonny Vaccaro talk about his story. To me it seemed like the movie was focused on Sonny, so my pitch for the sequel should be the firing of Sonny at Nike, him and Peter Moore working for Adidas and signing Kobe and helping the lakers trade for him.

my notes on your video: 1) best line: "THOSE WERE BRANDS, THIS WAS A MAN." that line was awesome it makes you realize why he is the GOAT. its not just stats or chips. it was what he was to the game. it was how he inspired people who are now HOFs. 2) it would be expensive for them to have a title "AIR JORDAN" they would have to pay brand royalties right? 3) if they did make a sequel, maybe the end credits scene would be how Ben Affleck makes a pitch to Michael Jordan to be in the movie... #justsayin 4) awesome review!!!

Love your channel man. However, I just got done watching this movie. I remembered that you posted this & I went searching for a place to “Air” my thoughts. I have just been through the worst trauma-inducing movie experience in recent history. They made a movie about a shoe… that’s not even about the shoe. It was a string together 2 hours of movie trope to movie trope, complete with the angry boss, the job is on the line, the visit to mama’s house, the we’ve been at the office all weekend. Oh man, I can’t believe what I just watched. If the executive branch still has that petition thing going on, I feel compelled to stop the nationwide marketing of this movie immediately. The next move I’m making is to book a therapy appt for EMDR to replace the memory of this movie with something, anything, slightly less painful. Really Chris Tucker, Botox? Come on man… If Matt Damon owns a single pair of Jordan’s I will personally shine them for the rest of his life. I digress. Again, love your channel, keep doing it.
