Out and about Walking in Lacock
So, this is a first visit to the beautiful village of Lacock which is situated four miles south of Chippenham in Wiltshire. After spending the night sleeping in the car I awoke to the sight & silence of the ground covered in Snow.
Lacock is probably one of the most beautiful & picturesque villages in England. The village is owned by the National Trust. Over the years several TV shows & films have used Lacock as a filming location, which is not surprising as it really is like stepping back in time which is perfect for period dramas etc...
Lacock's Abbey is also a very popular tourist attraction. The abbey dates back to the early 13th Century, founded by Ela the Countess of Salisbury. There is also a parish church - St Cyriac. The village population is under 200 people.

En effet Lacock est un village exceptionnel. Il a beaucoup de charme et un air d'autrefois parfait pour les films et les séries qui se passent dans il y a longtemps. Tout à un aspect gris bleu, causé par la neige, l'heure matinale et les maisons et leurs décorations. Cela accentue ce côté ancien et un peu mystérieux. C'est une très jolie promenade. Une des plus jolies avec celles en forêt; Merci OAAW 😀😀😀😀😀

❤❄️❄️❤! Me fingers and toes ache with cold just walking with ya! What an unexpected delight spying Santa casually perched in bakery's climbing vine, clever that! Tis grandly beautiful a village she is. Yet noone dared to draw "Kilroy was here" on an encrusted windshield? The girl and her pup were charming but the parents sledding their cubs was ❤ warming especially the "now let go! Weeeee (whomp). How did that happen?!"🤪🤣 Oh I be liken this video SirOoohAaaaw. Say, uh, do I have a bead on your transportation? At video intro, follow the footsteps TO the break in the fence, there seems to be a non-winter-fettered black car with fresh parking tracks in front of George Inn. Yours? You're so much FUN, ❤ya! Encore encore!

Hello, Jaclyn. It seems like only yesterday since we last spoke :). You not gonna believe this (actually you probably will), I was at this village again this morning. I had flashbacks of last December’s walk as I walked around the village. I think I prefer the previous walk to today’s, although I do love the intro from today’s. You always manage to spot the finest of details, nicely done, Jaclyn! The car in question was definitely not mine, I am always extremely careful not to have my transportation visible in a video, also mine had been left overnight (I sleep in the car, or should I say, I stay in the car overnight as it was too cold to sleep!) so it was wearing a white winter coat. It was very sketchy driving back home from there afterwards. Thanks for walking with me again. All the best. OAAW

BEEN THERE 4 TIMES , BUT IN THE SUMMER. HOW QUIET THE SNOW MAKES IT. I HAD TO INCREASE SPEED TO 1.5 % , I NEARLY FELL OVER TWICE.

@@OutandaboutWalking I've just watched it again (at 2.40am Saturday ! ) enjoying the sound of your feet on the snow and on the frozen snow. What time and what day was it recorded ? Before the Lacocks had crowed except for the few, like you, drawn out early by the serene colour and beauty of it all. I know Lacock but had never seen it so beautiful. Again, Thank you.

@@piengiess thanks for rewatching. I filmed it on Sunday the 11th Dec 2022, not sure of the exact time but it would of probably been around 8:00 am’ish. I actually had Lacock on my list of locations to visit since I started filming my walks, so you can probably imagine my excitement when I woke to a complete whiteout :) Have a nice weekend. OAAW
