Great video Andy, it's days like that it comes together for a perfect day. Closest I've got to that was up Skiddaw but the wind just got too much and I bailed. Fantastic TFS, David.
Barnsleys finest what a fantastic watch Andy loved your mountain videos there infectious pal brilliant keep up the great work. Merry Christmas old cock 🎅👍🏼
Hi Andy!! First video of the year this and its got me right in the mood!! .... Absolutely EPIC!! WOW! Hope you have a very happy, safe and adventurous 2024 pal and look forward to seeing the adventures you go on this year 😃👍🏻👍🏻 ATB.... Chris
I remember coming g down devil's kitchen with my Dad about 35 yrs ago and I was going too fast, tripped and fell. My Dad told me to stop moaning and get on with it. Next day I was in the hospital getting my broken wrist in a cast😅....Good days, not in winter mind so must be so much more precarious in snow conditions. As per, great vid Andy, have a great Christmas pal.
wow that sounds & must have been painful..winter brings all sorts of hazards & dangers deffo a time to be a lot more vigilant when waking in the mountains.
Absolutely fantastic video, likes been said you have one of the very best channels on here, brilliant content on each & every video. You deserve way more subscribers than you have. Superb, absolutely superb!
Man a good camp trip. Much respect for your work. A pretty tough place in winter, sometimes summer. Your preparedness is tops. Happy New Year. I'll follow along as you post. Thanks. Shared to FB, hope it picks up your subs. Well deserved.
What a wonderful winter camp, both epic and stunning 😉😉 It was apparent by your big smiles just how much you enjoyed this one, cracking stuff Andy. Your enthusiasm for the mountains is so contagious, whilst always reminding us of the dangers along the way. ATB 👍👊😉
@@AndrewBeavers yeah understandable. Sorry to sound like yer grandad 🤣I’m an old geezer 50 years of mountaineering. Your channel is one of the very best. Love what you do. Atb mate.
@@unclepeteswildadventures i should be listening to you then with that many years experience..im always eager to learn from more experienced than my self 👍👍
Can’t wait for some quality gully climbing around the helvellyn range and brown cove crags again this season, your passion is infectious,if you want any advice about the routes, just let us know…….
Epic! Stunning! Brilliant! Andrew I've been up that Ridge in similar conditions it's a grand Mountain....what a day mate proper kitted out for that steep ground great use and knowledge with the axe... ya RU-vid channel is second to none Mate a pleasure to watch 😊 Here's to a great New Year with lots more amazing days like this.... ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐
cheers Andrew yeah its a great ridge & mountain looking to do banana gully when the conditions are good for it..love the winter mountain days like that they rarely come along..have a great new year mate & atb..
I love how much you appreciate the reward at the top, it always makes me smile. Btw I always say in normal weather you make the mountains look like little hills but I could really see when you had the ice pick just how steep it was and how hard it was…. Great video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 x
Superb video...stunning views and a very happy young Andy...have we ever seen you so happy....brilliant brilliant brilliant....many thanks and a very happy Christmas to you and family.
Hi Andy, Watch all your videos and have to say this has been one of the very best. Liked your advice on usefulness of the ice axe, and the scene where you are climbing and making the axe earn its keep. Never seen you looking so happy and with such spectacular scenery I can understand why. Thanks for bringing such beauty into our homes. Keep up the good work sir.
thanks john..yeah the use of the ice axe on that terrain is imperative..also knowing how to use it properly in the event of needing for a self arrest is vital it could save you're life..also identifying the dangers can keep you safe after all we're there to enjoy a great winters outing in the mountains..
Absolutely loved that, your enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment pretty obvious to see. Y Garn is probably my 2nd most climbed summit after Snowdon and is definitely a firm favourite - being within an hour’s drive an added bonus! You got a new subscriber 👍
Awesome, we camped on the plateau as we didn't have the right kit for carrying on to the top. Looks like we made the right choice. Looks bloody awesome though. Thanks for sharing, all the best Paul 👍
Just stumbled across your channel. Great stuff. A pal of mine and me (both Barnsley boys) did Y Garn in summer about twelve years ago. A lot easier than your effort, I’m sure, but still a challenge to two old guys in their late fifties. We’d done Tryfan and liked the look of Y Garn because it looked like a “proper” mountain with the shape of its summit.
Loved the approach to the top shot and those summit views. What a great night. Those smiles said it all.....kid in a sweet shop is exactly it. I know that feeling...... I was on Snowdon the week before the snow. Missed it. I'm in the lakes a few days between Christmas and New year. Hoping the temp drops! But I've many days in diary next few months. Fingers crossed. May bump into you....keep it up. 🤗👌
hi john yeah you dont get many opportunities like that few & far between..im hoping we get some conditions like that over xmas & new year as im also hoping to be out inbetween..
Amazing Andy, them conditions looked perfect for a winter camp, the views looked something else, the climb up looked great too, one you’ll not forget, spot on mate, atb Mick 👍
WoW........ That's the Alpinest Alpine-like view I've seen this year, that isn't the Alpine's proper. What a look of unbridled joy upon thee grid Andy, what an awesome experience! Thank you for your efforts over 2023 in bringing us along on your hikes & camps. Been a good year for content has 2023, from you and a couple of others I watch, can't wait to see what you bring in 2024. Best of wishes and, once again, thank you for your hard work, truly a joy to watch. ATB
Hi mate, glad you stuck on EPIC!😂 that’s exactly what it was!! Praying for a weather window over the hols to get some of that myself 🙏🙏 Bloody brilliant, thanks for sharing 👌🏻 stay safe
Wow Andrew………jaw dropping camp this. I’ve loved watching your channel grow throughout the year, although I’m very surprised it’s not the most followed mate. Love your collab camps with Scott too, you two take it to another level. Brilliant, made my morning pal
ayy myself & scott like to push it a little scotts knowledge of the welsh mountains is admirable so its great to tap into his knowledge & experience when im up there..hopefully if we get some similar conditions there'll be more of that to come.
Andy that was beautiful. Seeing the pure joy on your face was priceless. I camped between the Glyders and Y Garn in summer but looking at it like that, well I think I need to do a winter one now. Lovely video our kid.
Fantastic video , already watched Scott's but watching this one from my favorite spot on Kinder which is a bit blowy but nice and cold ...looking forward for a another drop in the Peak District. Have a great ChristmasandNew Year and thanks for all the vids this year ATB ;)
Now that is proper 👍🏼 Brilliant again Andy. I would love to learn some winter skills. I know local knowledge is worth so much, but how are you navigating an area like that? Are you just sure of where you’re going/where you are, having planned? Do you use tech/gps or good old fashioned maps/compass? Your knowledge and confidence never fails to impress 👍🏼 Cheers, Gary B
That is an amazing video, unbelievable conditions, that is what you call a winter mountain camp. Superb 👍. Your by far the best camping channel on RU-vid and I watch most of them. That was epic. 👌
I’m 4 mins in Andy, WOW Been looking forward to this vid since I saw your pics on Insta. Blast from the past, I’ve been up Devils kitchen in my YOUF 😍 fantastic, better than bloody darts 🎯 😂ATB, Sarah Ps the emotion in this video is palpable Andy, not to mention my nerves as your climbing with the axe, I’m glued!… 📺
thanks sarah devils kitchen is some place aint it..i never realise just how much emotion im portraying whilst filming its just a natural outpour..its not till im editing & watching the clips back i realise lol...
@@AndrewBeavers nowt finer than some emotion coming through but start blubbering like me and al be avin words 😂 Merry Christmas to you and your family Andy 🎄
Best winter wonderland wild camp this year. Loved it, and what stunning views. You just can't be a summit low wind camp, with your own little friend (mouse) 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just made my day (off work in bed with flu lol).
Andy - the grin on your head as the cloud broke showed how much you enjoyed that! I had a similar one last winter on Nan Bield / Mardale - spent 2-3 hours climbing up in a virtual whiteout cursing as to why I was out is such crap conditions - and then as I was heading over to Kidsty I felt sudden warmth on my back and the clouds just rolled away before me and within seconds I was in sunshine. Absolutely magical, I captured the rolling clouds over the snowy hills and you could have been in the Alps/Canada/Anywhere, we are lucky to live where we live
Been waiting for this one since I saw the teaser in Instagram and it didn’t disappoint! Absolutely stunning and so good to see you enjoying it so much Andy! Cracking video! Y Garn on the list for me for Feb trip!
Absolutely loved this video, one of your best, and that’s saying something. I have great memories of hikes in the Pennines in the snow, this brought it all back. Felt the same in winter wonderland conditions. It’s 36C here in Western Australia - no mountains and not much snow. So this was a real Christmas treat - your enthusiasm and joy of being there is contagious. So many many thanks🎄🥂🎉
WOW!!! incredibly video Andy mate. That was stunning Andy mate. Most of us who? Watch these videos are also doing it ourselves and we totally understand how absolutely breathtaking it all is. The PlayStation community will never understand what it’s like to do this or experience the absolutely breathing views and your health and happiness doing these outdoors mountain adventures it’s just so good for body and mind. I have tried to influence and promote healthy lifestyle and its rewards and trying get people out into the mountains but they would much rather waste life on computer games and Facebook and eat junk food. I have seen them have regularly visits to the Doctor for heath problems. (they themselves are the problem) I can't express enough how so rewarding and how makes you feel taking up hiking fell walking or outdoor hobbies planing an adventure in your free time instead of sitting watching crap on the TV or playing video games. Get outside and just try it and see how amazing it is.. Kindest regards mate….👍👍👍
your'e quite right there & i say it quite a lot you dont get to see things like that sat on the couch..the joy it brings me is quite evident & i sometimes dont realise just how much till i watch my clips back..the real time filming is just pure natural emotion coming out there's no fake scripted stuff going on there..as you say those that do get out will know exactly those emotions & its far better for us than sat at home..thanks for the comment..
