Hello. Holsters in the woods... I think there's something to military holsters of the past, with flaps over top helping secure the gun. The Seatec Dive/Blackhawk Spec Ops flap holster is a great modern example. I have many holsters, from Kydex pancake to Safariland level 2 and Blackhawk Serpas still even. Just due to the unlocking, I'd prefer level 2 in the woods, whether the flap holster or even the Serpa. Ya, I know, people hate Serpas. Available on ebay!
Like the holster. But I'd much rather have hex or torx screws. They don't strip nearly as easy as phillips. Nowadays phillips isn't that much more common. Except among fuddist types who won't get with the program!! RockOn.StayFree.
But it's a holster. We all have a multitool with a phillips driver. Fewer will have hex or torx in a pinch/field. I don't think you'll have to turn screws very often on a holster...
I don’t mind socket head cap screws, but I have NO idea why everyone needs to go to torqx or square heads or security torqx or whatever. F-ing lame. You want to be “fancy” use freaking allens (socket, flat head cap screws) that’s enough. Hell, I’d prefer bolts to the rest. Much easier to deal with and capture with nut drivers. Nice and positive. Same with allens. The little tines on torqx always worry me. I’ve twisted 5/8 grade 8 bolts in half with a box end wrench before. (Took a lot of effort) but I’ve done it. So little tines make me nervous.
