Hello friends! For Spring Break, I decided to go on a solo trip to explore Central Japan (or Chubu). I visited Toyama and one of Japan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Shirakawago, from Tokyo. It was pouring rain in Toyama, but the trip still ended up being one of my favorite solo trips. I hope you enjoy!

i love the vibes and such a lovely video! it really made me think of my future solo trip to japan in a couple weeks. When you went to Shirakawago from Toyama, did you stay the night there or just go back to Tokyo in the evening?

Thank you so much! From Shirakawago, I actually went to Nagoya in the afternoon and stayed a night there since it was closer to the Shinkansen back and had more options for places to stay:)

Wow, there’s still a lot of snow on the ground. When did you film this trip?

I'm going to Takayama and Shirakawa 1 week later. I can see melting ice. Can I know what's the temperature level when you were there?

If I remember correctly, I think it was around 10 degrees during the day there’s a live camera on their official website to see how the snow is like as well😊

Toyama n Takayama are my favourite destinations, I ve visited in different seasons. Toyoma is such a charming ,calm n underrated place. I love the Toyama Public City Library , beautiful interior. There is also a glass art museum on the upper floor. Starbucks at Kansui Park is lovely, such wide open space. Riding the train to Amaharashi coast is a scenic treat n especially so in winter. Kurobe Alpine route to see the snow walls is also easily accessible from Toyama. It opened April 15 . From Takayama , take the Nohi bus to Shin Hotaka , japanese alps, if there is time , its gorgeous. Do start early as its a longer bus ride than to Shirakawago.

@@ji1511Hi seeing your explain this makes me looking forward of my trip to go there! May I know how do you get to Kurobe Alpine Route to see the Snow Walls from Toyama?

@@nabellt I went from Toyoma. Stayed at Hotel Vischio at Maroot. Do find out more on the tateyama alpine route website. U may get able to book on site but the Japanese site is difficult to navigate. Day before my visit to snow walls, I walked to Dentetsu toyoma station to book n collect tickets day departure tickets. It would too difficult to do on day itself . I decided to do only till Murodo n back as I wasn't interested in the dam. Also, i wanted to train to Morioka for a night n and then to Sapporo which i ve flown to before but i prefer n love long train journeys . Depending on your dates, the height of the snow walls may differ. Frankly, my favourite is Shin Hotaka, especially in winter.
