They didnt show Daemon respond because it would have spoiled the shock. No doubt he told them if they couldnt find Aemond then take Jaeharys, otherwise they wouldnt have kept saying "it has to be a son".

Not many people noticed but rhaenyra looks right at daemon when she said she wants aemond and the actress said she was talking directly to him.

In the book fire and blood it was more psychologically traumatic for Helaena since blood and cheese grabbed both of her sons Jahaerys and her youngest child Maelor and they asked her which one she wants to die so she points to her youngest to spare him a mercy killing but instead they taunted him and beheaded Jahaerys instantly in the show however it’s more brutal because they slowly cut his head off.

The secret entrances and passages were put in at the orders of Maegor, who then killed all of the builders who made them so the secret would be his and his alone (and those he chose to tell about them). Most people didn't know about them, but some did... Clearly Daemon was aware of them, as was the rat-catcher, no doubt discovered during his searching for rats. And later on, Varys knew of them. Those in the know used them to be able to move about surreptitiously, and to spy on others (as we saw both Daemon and Rhaenyra do).

I think why they didnt care about the rat traps going in and out is because its expected for the royal guards to stand outside the room and infront of the door like sir cripsy in season 1. But i think (idk if its canon) alicent got rid of all the guards so none of them catch her and crispy or crispy just left his post to fufil his so call honor and duty.

The murder happened because Criston Cole was not at his post. He was supposed to be outside Halaena, instead he was inside Alycent.

Cole does not sleep with Alicent in the book. In fact, he doesn’t even sleep with Rhaenrya. This is the show making a choice to make Cole and Alicent look like hypocritical. That said, there are rumors that Alicent slept with King Jahaerys as well as Daemon. The tapestry shows Targaryen history. For example, all the dead soldiers are the Field of Fire where Aegon and his sisters destroyed the Lannisters and Gardners. The king with the sword in his neck is Maegor the Cruel.

Another thing that’s not really talked about is how alicent and Otto must’ve obviously distanced Rhaenyra from all her siblings and poisoned them into thinking that Rhaenyra would kill them if she took the throne. Back then if you were a kinslayer it’s pretty much like a curse and the people would not accept it. However, rhaernya had been raised politically and she’s not a heartless woman now daemon in the other hand would commit that act because he doesn’t see any of them as family since they’re from Hightower blood. And all this started because Otto was scared of daemon when in reality he set himself up for failure and now his grandson the king won’t listen to him fully and he seems more stressed than ever. Like bro it’s war now and you made it happen now that it has happened you can’t control it and bloodshed is now inevitable thanks to you.

Oh good catch! Ser Criston was supposed to be on guard duty not clapping cheeks. Maybe the death could have been avoided.

as if anyone needed it -- more confirmation that daemon is just as reckless as aemond. rhaenyra would never have wanted jaehaerys' death, just as alicent would never have wanted lucerys'. now former friends are locked on course to mutual destruction because, as said last season about dragons, control is just an illusion. when war is declared, noble intentions and honorable causes are no protection against atrocities.

Naw, my view on Alicent... the first time in her life she's free to have sex because she wants to for her own joy and not because she is property who must obey. Imagine someone repressed her whole life not being able to do anything for herself... is it so surprising that she would finally be having sex for herself after her husband died? Yes, she was jealous of Rhaenerya's freedom, wouldn't everyone do the same in her position?

Yes, blame whoever but Daemon for the murder of a child. Did he really think it would be easy to kill Aemond? He obviously told them about plan B. I am not a green supporters, but this is all Daemon fault. I also didn't blame Rhaenyra for sending Lucerys alone to ask for the Baratheon support, it was Aemond doing, even if he didn't mean to kill him.
