In this week's video, I'm going to show you how to play a spicy minor pentatonic pattern!
This is one of my favourites. It's harmonically strong, very versatile and easy to incorporate into longer runs and licks.
We'll be learning it in the key of E minor today so make sure you're comfortable with your E minor pentatonic.
The best way to learn and practice this pentatonic pattern is by practising the individual shapes first, then breaking them up into patterns - finally putting it all together into one mega spicy pattern!
If you have any questions, just drop a comment!

MAN!! Good Vids, so Thank you first of all!! I am a beginner learning beat making. Other than learning music theory and harmonics on the piano when I was young, I'm not particularly good at playing. I think your videos are very good to leaning. If you were me, which one would you like to watch for study first?

Hi, can you please make a video about the difference between jazz, blues, and soul. I find it real hard to distinguish especially in jazz and blues, or blues and soul. Blues for me is very diverse and so it gets even harder to distinguish the real “blues” sound. There’s not much videos in yt and so it gets harder to see a reference, and I see that you are one of those channels that explains very well. I hope you’ll notice this.

Could you make a video on changing keys? I struggle when noodling on smooth changes into new key signatures^
@marcoevans2155
@marcoevans2155 9 месяцев назад
Make sure the half note that proceeds the chord changes is already on one of the color tones of the new chord. For example: if your going from Bbmaj to Ebmaj, play a shared note before you leave Bbmaj like D, Bb or F (F is the 5th of Bbmaj and the 9th of Ebmaj)

@@Piano_Pig Hi Simon. I played around with this pattern so that it plays as an F pentatonic scale with a portion of the F Blues chord progression. It sounds great I must say 😀. Thanks for sharing your patterns for us to use! 🎹😎

Play any progression that's in E minor. Or even just hold an E minor chord

@michelleyb.9709
@michelleyb.9709 2 года назад
Why don't you have the E major key signature? If this is C major then the E minor would be on a black note. If this is E major then the G would be sharp. How does this add up?
@Piano_Pig
@Piano_Pig 2 года назад
It's in E minor. I suppose I could have stuck an F# in the key signature but I didn't see how that would add anything to the video so left it out for ease of simplification
