Agents of shield is a great show that nobody watched I still don't understand why the MCU as far a storyline pace and creative style learning about the bad guys figuring out there weakness coming up with a plan. Agents of shield check all the boxes great acting great cast great storyline. If you never watched shield just watch this episode tell me what you think
hunters face showed how shocked he was that they all cared, and that he realised he finally found a place where he belonged and now he had to leave it🥺
I never understood why they had to retire from a shield and couldn’t be agents anymore ? Was it because they would’ve blew there cover to get shield against an enemy and they didn’t want to fall for extraction and mess it up ? I don’t get it
I like how Mack didn’t try to hide his emotions. Even though people say men don’t cry. He isn’t scared to show that he is sad or isn’t scared to cry in front of others. Such a genuine character. I love him.
"A Spy's Goodbye" is the most touching moment in the show. And it's also my favorite goodbye scene ever. It makes me want to cry every time, but I can't stop rewatching it.
I just watched it three times and the amount of tears and sobbing increased each time. My god. “I will always love you, Daisy.” Is still the biggest tear jerking LINE in the show, but this takes the cake for the biggest tear jerking SCENE. Incredible all around.
This is easily one of the most powerful moments in television (especially if you've followed the show). Mac's shot was for Hunter, but his smile was for Bobbi. The most impactful storytelling without dialogue EVER!
@@janschmelzer9641 I kinda think he didn’t finish because he didn’t want it to be over. He wanted to hold onto them for a little longer, even if it meant not finishing a shot.
+DeadPixelz I'll give you the Gemma misspelling but Skye is still as much her name as is Daisy. I wouldn't be wrong, even if she no longer goes by that name anymore
7 years on, this is one of my favourite and most haunting goodbye scenes in any tv show ever. I loved both of these characters and the show wasn’t the same without them.
Ugh, Hunter & Bobbi in seasons 4-7 would've been amazing. 😭 Also, just another sad note for y'all, YoYo never got to know these two. Bobbi, Hunter, and YoYo wouldve had a great friendship.
Very sad and touching scene. Perfect music. It was an appropriate goodbye to Bobbi and Hunter. Also, I find myself loving the idea of a general spy custom of buying honorably departing spies a shot of whiskey and saluting them without a word spoken. This is a TV Moment (with a capital M.)
The way all the background sounds just faded away slowly as the score entered was awesome. Hell, the score itself was amazing. I believe that when a show has good music, that music becomes a character in and of itself and that score definitely fit that bill.
It faded away as Mack walked away too. The man that loves the two the most. And the one their departure broke the hardest. My god. What a scene. What a show.
The music is what really sold this scene. If you weren't crying seeing Mack's face, you were crying because the tone of that piece put you in a chokehold and forced tears out of your eyes
+TaijutsuJoshua Anyone know who wrote that music? It is definitely what makes the scene. That and the obviously real feelings the actors have for each other.
scenes like this are why people love this show so much. there are so many scenes in this show that will be remembered forever by its viewers, so many moments that will stick with all of us. it wasn't just an mcu show or a way to see Coulson again. it wasn't just another superhero show either, it became so much more than all of those things. everyone who watched it is a better person afterward no doubt.
True, but it also makes it more meaningful. Marvel never commits to killing off/losing characters which makes death scenes in movies lose all their impact. That's one of the reasons this scene is so powerful; we know it's really goodbye.
Wanna touch base in June 2024? It really doesn't help that I love spy-craft in the non-fantastical way, and getting to see that in a comic-book hero show is a deligt to see.
Saying goodbye without physically saying the words. This is a simple but beautifully done scene. Most shows don't attempt this level of subtle class. And the emotional pain on Mack's face just brought an extra emphasis of the sadness of the moment. Goodbye Hunter and Bobbi.
I just now rewatched the scene (2 months after I commented) and I'm still getting choked up over it. The music, the pacing, the acting...MAC. God it's such a heart-wrenching scene.
While Bobbi and Hunter were written out of the show to make room for their spinoff series, the fact that it never came to fruition, thus we never saw them again, save for a single cameo appearance by Hunter in a later season, this hits much harder.
I love how their spy senses pickup on the guy at the bar who's watching them in 'secret', but their senses didn't realize there were 6 of their friends in the bar. ps, what is this water streaming from my eyes
My headcanon? The spy potted at least two of the others in the bar... and then deliberately let himself be seen by the Bobbi and Hunter. That he understood what was going on just as much as the others, and would "forget" to include it in any reports he made on the night because, well, there's no harm in letting some colleagues say goodbye.
I'm so glad Bobbi and Hunter got a proper goodbye since their spin-off got cancelled. The writers could have brushed them aside because they their own show, but they still took the time to say farewell.
The first time I watched this I CRIED SO HARD. The tears started rolling at 1:15, intensify at 1:59, I almost started bawling at 2:59, and it was a rainstorm at 3:33. No matter how many times I watch this, I will still be an emotional wreck after it. Disclaimer to anyone who is watching this and knows the storyline, have a box of tissues available, as I did. I lost more tears in this scene than I think I did in my entire life. Yet I can't stop watching it.
This is a masterpiece. Let's start with the score. I need to add this to my Spotify; it's beautifully crafted; it hits the right notes and, together with the camera, it hits them at the right time - example, that silence before showing Mack waiting for them to drink with him. Then, the setup; the background story that leads to this episode - we saw many cool things with these actors and how they became part of the family; what they did for each other (the shot she took for him); and the lengths they went to keep them safe after this episode's plot. All very sad. But we get sad everywhere. I think there is one thing that makes this a masterpiece is that final part: that silence just before showing Mack, tearing, waiting for them (the actors - not the characters) to drink with him. Remember they started pretty much at the same time if I remember correctly. And now the actors had to leave (reasons). So Mack is saying goodbye to Hunter and Bobbi; but Henry is saying goodbye to Adrianne and Nick. That look, that "I am still here." and the way he looks to them as he leaves... masterpiece
It's been a long time since a TV show made me cry, but they really hit the spot with this one. I don't think ive seen a goodbye scene written out so incredibly well. I appreciate that they didn't make it unreasonable or have them end on bad terms and I especially love that they didn't die. This is why I admire Agents of Shield
Amazing, no words needed and still so much emotion... please bring them back, either on Agents of SHIELD or Most Wanted. I need Bobbi and Hunter again, and i really wanna see her full-Mockingbird
Jahedur Rahman would be awesome! All i can think about, regarding these too is that they literally are 2 modern Bad Luck Brians.... gets written off for spin-off, spin-off gets cancelled :/
Lonzee Hype Videos, Ink I was and still are in tears, and Mack oh god, this is the only time I’ve cried during a tv show, this is pure emotion and heart 😭😭
This scene never fails to make me cry. Having to say goodbye, forever, to people you care about and have made to many memories with is absolutely tragic.
this scene had me bawling my eyes out lmaoo but what makes it worse is they did this exit bc they were setting up bobbi and hunter for a spin off show called Marvel's Most Wanted but it never got aired :( genuinely will never get over this
I always cry when I see this scene. Without any words, without any contact , they say goodbye in the most beautiful way. It's one of my favorite moments in AOS
The suppressed glances the team shares, Mack's hesitant departure, the violin in the background - this is a beautiful scene. My aunt died a few years back and, amidst the whirlwind of new responsibilities that spawned after her death, I repressed my emotions. This scene finally broke the seal on all the tears I'd withheld. I still come back to it whenever I experience heartbreak; super appreciate everyone involved in creating it. 🙏🏾
I hated to see Mack because he got history with Bobbi from the previous shield. Maybe this is a see you later rather than a goodbye. Great scene though. It makes you love them even more.
AOS hits different and it always will What they do is they get us emotionally connected to the characters and then they cut them off which is so Heart wrenching
OMG!!! This still tears me up!! I'm a mess right now. Somebody cut up a bunch of onions in my house tonight. Everything about this scene was perfect. The music, "parting shot" meaning/spy's goodbye. It was a touching and heart-wrenching goodbye. The absolute best goodbye scene I have EVER seen. Yeah Jemma and Mack tore me up.
I know a lot of people (me included) were like, "Why spin these 2 off on their own show? No one is interested or going to watch it." But after this, I think people now are definitely going to watch it just to see these 2 again!
it hasn't been officially announced, but it is likely that Adrianne and Nick would have their own show, Marvel's Most Wanted, around September I think.
Man this was emotional as heck and they way all of them were looking at them already and just waiting for them to see and the cheers and Mack emotions especially when the music started getting more in depth, were so real He had said in an interview he wanted it to feel real not only as the character but as himself because he really loved them.
You definitely should but if you do I will warn you, it will be even more emotional when you get a chance to fall in love with the characters and then see them leave.
You know, this show has kind of been all over the place as far as tone goes (still love it though), and while it can be incredibly cheesy at times, this scene was so well executed it almost feels like it's from another show.
One of the most beautiful goodbye scenes I have ever watched. Bobbi and Hunter were not very favourite characters of mine when they were introduced, but this episode and especially this scene really left me in tears. Such a beautiful farewell scene without saying a word 😭😭😭
