May's LMD realizes her programming is much more similar to the original May, and therefore is able to take down Coulson's LMD to save Simmons and Daisy. (From Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Season 4, Episode 15). Subscribe: goo.gl/mo7HqT
I love how this show started out really goofy and the theme music was constantly playing and now the theme music only plays when it's an emotional moment
Also this show aint about superheroes, the ones that do show up are either temporary or just there all the time and the same ones, no costumes or mcu action. This does not feel like an mcu show. What mainstream audiences want are superhero shows with superheroes in the lead roles. The stakes are personal, its focused and tells a story thats based off of comics and specific comics at that not just: were agents this is our job to save the world with all this tech and whatever. Wandavision is the perfect mcu show that tells a contained story with all comic book based characters not just random peeps they throw in and a storyline that they chose a select amount of episodes to tell.
I love writing like this. Radcliffe makes his May LMD to be the perfect facsimile - she's everything that May is, but has a hidden program that she cannot break. The perfect infiltrator. But once that mission is complete, what is left is all May. He left the perfect infiltrator to a SHIELD full of LMDs. He never anticipated the strength of her character and how it could shape even a computer replica. Just as how AIDA began to adapt and turn on him, so di the May LMD. But unlike AIDA, who made use of logical loopholes, May-bot made use of her own emotions to break free and ultimately do what May always does - make a difference.
Very similar to the Batman: The Animated Series HARDAC clone of Batman, he was made so perfectly that when he thought he killed someone, he couldn't take it and self-destructed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zuuSOuWNvNE.html
Not just make a difference - but be the mama bear for the crazy AOS family and protect them. As you said, the problem with making a perfect duplicate of Melinda May is that is exactly what you get - Melinda May.
Not stronger, LMD May was only programmed to get the Darkhold. Since that programming is complete, there was nothing stopping her from doing what she wanted.
Xetren Not to mention Radcliff betrayed her trust, abandoning her, thus her programming became conflicted, and she nothing to fall back upon except for the Real May's feelings and emotions.
May being the unsung hero of this episode and entire arc is literally the best thing AOS could've ever done! This scene right here was so heartbreaking, Ming and Clark poured their everything into it and then some! Top that with the music, VFX, rest of the plot, rest of the characters and this episode is hands down the best AOS has ever had!
Yeah, I mean NOBODY will ever know or appreciate what LMD May did - at most, Jemma and Daisy know she let them go - but she'll largely be just a footnote in S.H.I.E.L.D. history. Never will anyone know the words she said to LMD Coulson, how she chose to sacrifice herself just so he (and the team) could have a chance, how she CHOSE to turn against Racliffe because of her feelings. And these are, at heart, the feelings of the real Melinda May - she too would have done the SAME THING, in the SAME PLACE, at the SAME TIME...
The heart of a true hero. Unsung, without regret or acknowledgement. To do what is right, not because people will praise you - but because it is right, knowing no-one will ever know you. The unsung hero. That is an Agent of SHIELD.
This scene was just masterful... the music, the mood, Ming's performance... it's so sad to think of what LMD!May felt, to the extent that LMD's can have feelings, when she realized that although she has all of May's memories, she's not real. And even though she wasn't, there was enough of the real May in her to make this heroic move.
Eh, I felt the same way about the Superior in S4. Luckily she's only in two more episodes and we still have Graviton to contend to which should be more interesting.
luke ketchum well even half of Season 2-3 Playground got attacked too, yet it get repaired. imo they deserve a good new headquarters since Playground took so much damage.
I feel they destroy the base every season now just to prepare for if their budget gets significantly slashed (so they have to use something even cheaper to maintain) of if their budget gets raised (so they might possibly get something more impressive than a relatively plain building setting) for the next season. Chances are in a S5, Playground is repaired. The seasons are a bit cyclical by now :P, but in often a fun way.
Malcolm Swoboda i kinda wish Shield new base a bit similar to Triskellion since Shield is Legalize now(not hiding in shadows). i feel sorry for Playground base it often get attack every season. Shield should have secondary primary base in case their main headquarter got attack/destroyed.
ABC don't you dare cancel this show! The writers do a phenomenal job and is in fact the best Superhero Show on TV. You are lucky to have such a good show on your network!!!
this is the best 2 minutes of tv i've ever watched in my life. The music is excellent... love the soft piano building into the soaring strings. The dialogue is excellent. It packs the entire complexity of May, far more than she's ever revealed about herself, into just a few lines. The light blinking 'lmd detected' is so gentle and ironic. The snow that puffs out a little into the base looks beautiful. The way they all jerk back in their seats when Davis fires up the engines is so subtle, but a great nod to the adrenaline and urgency of the moment. May contemplatively stroking the button mirrors her real fear of death. It's all so perfect.
Coulson looking at the button while she's stroking it is really good. He knows he's a LMD but he acts like we would do in that situation; hoping that she doesn't press it and doing all he can to persuade her otherwise.
EGRJ , that's Agent Davis. He was on episode with Ghost in Season 1 (when FitzSimmons were collecting data on that facility), and he's here from the first episode of 4th season, so...
This scene; not even a finale, beats all the DC shows best EPISODES combined! Just one scene was more moving then Arrow in its entire running so far. The only sadder scene for me in a Superhero show was Flash the first time he went back in time to save his mom and seen her die instead. Plus the Bobbi and Hunter leaving scene was just as sad!
I wasnt that sad during the Lance/Morse farewell scene coz I know theyre gonna have their own show and Im excited for that. But it wasnt picked up in the end. And that's where I became extremely sad.
Wow. Can you imagine loving someone so much that even a robot of you would overcome and find a way to protect the one you love, even like this. She even admitted she was afraid to die, but still sacrificed herself anyway.
paschalisgriek SAMMME. They should bring them back. Ecen though Bobby with her electro-stick duo hickeys wouldve been OP and she wouldve owned all of their asses CORRECTION:phantom asses But still when shield has been compromised and all that is left is shield trainees, a scientist(even though I have to admit she was a badass in this episode), and an inhuman without her gauntlets. I get that framework ending was lit, have me alot of matrix vibes. But I was hoping for them to be in a GI JOE retaliation situation where they have to get the big guns which is Bobby and hunter.
Man, being a SHIELD agent means you’re basically 90% guaranteed to get killed be it by Hydra, Ultron Robots, evil Inhumans, Hive, Hive’s army, LMDs, Aida, Kree, Aliens in Space, Demons, Fear Manifestations, Evil Birds, Evil Alien Demons, Chronicoms... I mean, only a handful survive every time.
Ugh that cut to the explotion was so awesome. Gives me chills everytime. I've been wanting to see a cut like this, where one character tries to make his move first but the other one does it first. The soundtracks, lighting and imagery is just all fucking awesome.
Now THIS . this is something I've never seen before. A robot standing up to another robot not because it developped feelings, but because it calculates differently. But at the same time we wonder if LMD May has feelings or not. After all the robot didn't know it was a robot, but we're not sure if it felt real all that time. And then keeps emulating emotions of it's own but then again those emotions could have just been calculated. And now this scene, May's LMD could be making choices based on the real May's brain patterns or calculating what is right being free of programming. Free will? And then LMDM says it's afraid to die, so is it still emulating emotions even though it doesn't have to? We're just not sure and that is why I love this scene.
There was a simple reason why She was acting like this. LMD May was made to be a perfect duplicate of Real May to infiltrate SHIELD and acquire the Darkhold. Take away that objective and leave LMD May running, she will have to default to what she was made to be - Agent Melinda May, the living representation of what SHIELD's ideals mean.
The problem with making a perfect copy of Melinda May to be your infiltrator is that is EXACTLY what you get - SHIELD Agent Melinda May, the Mama Bear of this crazy AOS family.
The scene with the hanger opening and the snow falling in was so beautiful yet so sad with May's line (pouring her heart out despite being an LMD), the music, & the fact that previously May was talking about the snow with Coulson one of my favorite moments
One of the best episodes ever on SHIELDS.....they combined feelings, actions, shocking twists, deaths, all in one episode. Never saw the twist coming from Fitz....Skye awesome move, which K.O Mack. But also this scene, in the end, MAY feelings for Phil overcame everthing, even the LMD programming, the depth of her feelings for Phil. You have to feel for LMD May here. I do hope that when May and Phil come out of the reality, they won't go backwards but give in, I hope May and Phil get together, SHIELD Has taught life is short......secomd chances come rarely so hopefull they grasp it.
Claudio Zúñiga Gamarra Something tells me Marvel will also lap DC with video games in a few years. I dunno just a hunch. DC did movies and TV shows way before Marvel surely they should be the ones on top.
The best comic book show for me. At first, it felt like a typical spy show, but it grabbed me immediately following the introduction of the inhumans. Also no shitty romance plot for fangirls bullshit like CW's superhero shows, not including Smallville.
The highlight of the best Agents of SHIELD episode so far. LMD May had the best character development of the season. She went from a person who didn't know what she was to someone who felt like she had no purpose anymore. However, in the end, she sacrifices herself to save the friends of a man she loves. It's such a wonderful scene between the two and the music takes it to another level.
What in the name of SHIELD just happened ?????? May may be LMD but she was the one who saved Daisy and Jemma, her feelings for Phil are stronger than the programming...and to blow up the Playground...I'm literally crying because I'm one hell of a SHIELD fan and this broke my heart in million pieces 😭😭😭😭 do you people think that SHIELD will continue existing? As the Organisation who protects Humans and Inhumans?
Etienne Berger , yep. She didn't explode the entire base. Moreover, they have lots of facilities over the globe, and they have the Ragtag Base (SSR prison). And the also can use one of the ATCU facilities as their HQ until the Playground is fully repaired.
Im sure the Playground and Ragtag are the same because when Daisy was rescued by Lash from Hive she said "calling ragtag base, im coming home"... But hey, they have that aircraft carrier they forgot about for two seasons...
This is my favorite scene of the entire show, of all marvel shows, of perhaps every show. So powerful and complex. The only more emotional episode is the last of season 5. May’s existential realization, her decision to accept the fact that she’s not really May, and her final sacrifice she knows she won’t regret yet is still terrified of weave through the layers of the real may we already know so well.
Damn this just made me a little tearful which never happens when I watch anything. And the team didn't even really think about LMD May's sacrifice. Probably *the* best moment in the MCU.
this ep is legit one of the best ones in aos. starting from Fitzsimmons realizing one of them is the lmd, daisy n jemma struggling to believe each other and the relief when they can trust each other again, daisy's epic fight scenes and then this scene. it was just mind blowing.
Season 3 and 4 really is peak Shield. While I'm biased towards the first half of Season 3, Season 4 really knocks it out of the park with its suspense, plot threads (Shield trying to become legitimate again, The Patriot's false powers) themes of the nature of artificial intelligence, what it means to be human, and character development (Fitz in the Framework arc), it's magic. I can't believe season 4 juggled all those things so well.
That moment you realised LMD May confess "May's love for Phil" but it ain't the real Phil and it ain't the real May 😭 AOS writers really know how to screw with the #philinder feels 😢 Please excuse me while I go cry in a corner 😭😭😭😭
I was wondering if Ming Na Wen could act like a robot - this scene proves once and for all with her version she can do it (although when she got the Darkhold she did a pretty good job there as well). Coulson (Clark Gregg) does not act like a robot except for the lack of emotion which is the same way Henry Simmons plays it. I guess they were directed to act that way.
Even after the first batch of Disney+ shows, Season 4 of AoS remains the top Marvel show alongside Daredevil. Everything was so well done and thought out, the lore, the weird comic book shit, the character progression, the acting. Perfection.
Forever Philinda The real May and Coulson feel the same way, but I'd imagine that sort of moment is more appropriate for the Season Finale or an episode approaching the finale. :)
I just noticed…he tries to creep up on her the whole way through this and EVERY TIME…she gets a little bit more ready to push that button!!!!!!!! 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤
