Part 1 of the documentary about the making of "Star Trek:Nemesis". Contains interviews with Brent Spiner, Patrick Stewart, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton etc.
if your going to have an epic ending to a movie you need to go out with a big bang and they did the shock of datas death really did make an strong impression that is still remembered how can you beat that moment he became so human
This movie got so much criticism but I loved it. I was devestated about data dying yet saw the fact they left the door open with B4. I understand Brents position that he's too old to play data now. It was a fantastic ending. The fact star trek picard put a permanent ending there is fitting now. The temporary "door opener" of B4 was there in case another movie came along in 2005 but it didn't and 20 years later spiner needed to put the role to bed. He's too old and as much as I love Brent spiner and want to see TNG and data on screen. It is for the best
"A Star Trek film has to be a Star Trek film first and foremost, it cannot be a film which happens to be a Star Trek film". Sir Patrick Stewart summed up everything wrong with the reboot in one sentence. Really good action films, but not really Star Trek films. I hope they make a new TV show with a new crew fairly soon!
+LukeRM OH man! You are LiTTERALY taking the word out of my mouth. Thats exactly what I wanted to comment here, but finishing with an "!" at the end of each sentence
Q was such a big part of the whole concept of TNG, his involvement in the very first episode framed everything that followed, he should have come back to help them finish it. The Shinzon character and concept was good too, but the enemies should have been someone other than the Romulans, they just aren't epic enough for the big finale of TNG.
The last of the great Star Trek series... so far only the movies have not disappointed me since. Maybe one day, they will start a series as great as the first two.
Sarah Kinsey i think johnathan wanted to direct but was busy with thunderbirds. Nemesis was an improvement over insurrection but had the ability to be more. Sela coming back would have been better.
i'm glad that the cast had a great time filming, and i'm also glad that one of the main writers was a star trek fan, but why the hell couldn't the freaking directer be a star trek fan? I think if he had been, the film would have had more of a star trek feel and thus would have been better received from the audiences.
Nemesis was a nightmare storywise and who ever was responsible for all the WTF plots should be shot. The actors were doing a good job but the story was feeling like it was totally crap and that was kinda hurting for the fans. They sold out the crew. The special effects were absolutely stunnig though. It was especially nice to see them discover that space has 3 dimensions....
the writing was incredible, it could have been a great movie the director in the other hand was awful, had no idea or intention of following gene's star trek dream, or it seems listening to the actors who have played these characters for almost a decade, he seems to just want to do it his way and not follow what had gone before that is what ruined it when it could have been a star trek family centred movie.
star trek nemesis was a disaster. The director didn't know anything about the franchise and was an incompentent director. john logan's script had fandom written all over it. The movie felt so dull, flat, tired and out of gas.
