The Romulans want peace; the Federation wants peace; what could go wrong? For more information about the Author of this film's Script, please visit: www.writtenbybwp.com/
Just a couple of issues. I disliked the first officer from the outset when she said, "Your ship?" To the Captain. Probably a result of writers not understanding anything about military culture. That was a direct assault on the authority of the ship's captain. She should have been taken down a notch immediately.
I sit here stunned by what I just saw. This is perhaps the most amazing fan film I've seen to date. To say well done to everyone involved just seems inadequate because well, it is. Everything about it was simply perfect.
@@alvermette218 I was used to starship crews finding a last nanosecond way out of situations that I thought that maybe they would do the same. The emotional impact of ramming the Klingon ship does not lessen with rewatching. Vic's closing credit music was just incredible.
TOTALLY UNEXPECTED! I have to admit I sat in stunned silence for a few moments at the end. Very well done!! Here is to the crew of the Cherokee. SALUTE!
Wow, this episode was so unexpected. I had no idea what was happening or where the episode was going. But that ending.... so somber and moving. Well done, well done. This episode was impressive and the music selection was so good. One of the best Star Trek fan episodes anywhere.
War is hell; even when it's a cold one! ... And casualties are incurred no less costly and tragically. Such is the nature of sentient conflict. Unofficially, the crew of the U.S.S. Cherokee died in the line of duty; having given their full measure, in service to the Federation. . . . This was certainly an unexpected ending to an unexpected chain of events. It was a fast-pacing episode, and certainly heartbreaking, but a ground breaking episode for the folks at Avalon and Neutral. I feel like mourning. Congratulations. 💔
I could not agree more with everything you said. Especially about feeling like mourning. What impressed me is how quickly this story got me to care about characters I'd never seen before with no hint of the fate of the Cherokee and those who serve aboard her. So when I rewatch this and I have several times already, one is very quickly struck by the tragedy to come and the feeling the ending creates does not lessen. If this had been a web series like the glorious Star Trek Continues, we could have gotten to see a very fine crew and gone on awesome adventures with them. First Officer Karinski was definitely captain material. As much as I'd love to see a web series with the Starship Cherokee, not getting to see their five year mission only makes this story all the more powerful.
@gabesantiago3074 I think you misunderstand me slightly. When I say I could not agree more, I'm saying I agree with you completely, if I had been saying that I could not agree less, then I would have been disagreeing you. We're actually on the same page.
I love those insignia patches! And oh, what a complicated mystery the crew of the Cherokee had to solve -- and whoa, that ending! To completely write off an entire starship?! I'm glad the crew got recognized, but damn! That is some serious business to erase a ship from history.
An excellent and moving example of the darker side of Startrek, where heroism and devotion to duty do not guarantee personal survival,or even a record of such sacrifice. A very real reminder that many such sacrifices have been made in our world. They deserve the highest Honour.
Fabulous! What a poignant ending! Love the fact that I didn't even notice that Vic played Ja'Drok til the credits. What a wimpy voice, almost Ferengi-like. He had to work really hard to go unnoticed like that, and such humility to play the lowest of the low.
That was really, really good. Some of the better acting in a Trek fan film, good special effects, and characters acting with understandable motivations.
Damn! This was such a Brilliant & Sad story! Well done to everyone involved in the production,R.i.P to the crew of the USS Cherokee,"We barely Got to Know,Her"
To the those involved in this production I want you to know that this was so well executed I wish that this was an actual series. All of you should take pride in what you have accomplished and I’m sure that there are those out here who are standing and saluting your efforts like I am. Take your time and I look forward to the next one! Joe in Pennsylvania
@@skipmorrisAs mentioned by another commenter already, it would be glorious if y'all could create some prequel stories for the USS Cherokee and this cast. 🙏
This is a very good tale. It is just a reminder space can be dangerous and filled with alien enemies fighting for their own protection and resources for their way of life.
Wow, best Fan Film I have seen since Star Trek Continues ended, great job Vic and crew! You made me care about a crew I never knew existed 20 minutes ago and brought a tear to my eye.
"From Hell's heart....I stab at thee". Excellent. Thank you for this, well written, well directed, good story. I look forward to Infinite Excallibers on Halloween.
WOW!!!! That may be the best Star Trek I've seen in decades. I was thinking that just before the credits rolled. Then I saw Vic Mignogna was involved and saw part of why. I'd really enjoyed Star Trek Continues, and that (along with Axanar and the rest of the Avalon Universe shows) had been REAL Star Trek for me, not the corporate stuff of the last 15 years or so. Wow though. That was visually beautiful, acted superbly, and riveting and heartbreaking. The final information about the Cherokee and it's part in the failed peace mission were, to use a phrase that is entirely appropriate, "Fascinating". THANK YOU for keeping the true Spirit of Star Trek alive!!!!!
Just Wow. That was amazing. It's fan films such as these, so well acted and produced, that deserve to be in canon Trek. It's so good that it would have been fitting to be shown in Star Trek: Short Treks, like how it should have actually been done to expand the Trek universe. I don't know how you are able to screw up an anthology series, but these types of films, done by FANS, are miles better than what we gotten from that.
Absolutely SUPERB! Even with that brief segment around the 15 minute mark, I never saw that ending coming. Very well done; well written and well acted. This is a tale I will remember. 2 thumbs up; if I had more thumbs I'd up them.👍👍👍
Excellent! Great writing, acting, SFX, editing, costuming... Great job all around. Not that other films from the Avalon universe were bad, but this one really took me aback with the quality.
The post production and acting was first rate. I felt like I was just watching another episode of TOS or STC. Vic you are a magnificent director and got the best out of everyone!
damn. that one hurts. i cared more for that crew and ship after 20 minutes, than anything since star trek continues. shout out to vic mignogna btw. and that little moment when commander karinskis concern almost broke through to captain clovis was a nice touch. masterfully done one and all.
I love this fan film! The acting was superb, and even the banter was pulled off naturally and didn't feel awkward like it can do with some fan films. The actors and production crew are amazing, this could have been filmed as a parallel series to TOS, it's that good! SPOILER: I was starting to really like the characters and now you've killed them off. Do I laugh or cry? Please bring them back. ST rarely has a sad ending, so that was a most unexpected twist. There's a lot to take in as the story telling, sets, CGI, costumes, acting, etc, is so polished, then the bombshell at the end! Wow! Congratulations Avalon Universe, this was an incredible production. (I'm cautious about saying it was a truly professional production in case CBS raise their eyebrows!)
Great job !!!!! Vic returns fan film story and casting back to the quality of Star Trek continues what a dark story great surprise and Vic plays Klingon first officer !!!! Kudos
Excellent! Seemingly obvious plot that weaves a more intricate subplot seamlessly into the dialogue. Plus it waw fun to see Vic Mignogna as the Klingon officer. Well done!
Simply perfect! A well written story! Goods stories don't need high costs! I hope you bring more little gems like this one! Congrats to everyone there!
Great acting and great story! But the epilogue got me to thinking about something Picard said. Picard said "The first duty of every Starfleet officer is to the truth, whether it's scientific truth or historical truth or personal truth! It is the guiding principle on which Starfleet is based. And if you can't find it within yourself to stand up and tell the truth about what happened, you don't deserve to wear that uniform!". The coverup of the ultimate sacrifice of the USS Cherokee goes against the "truth"! Star Fleet said it was to prevent a war, but was it really to cover up the "embarrassment" of Star Fleet being tricked by the Romulans? OK, enough "theory crafting"! Well done everyone!!!
Ah, I remember Picard saying that and in others moments telling the hard truth. My own comment touched on the same issue though from the "It is harder to lie then tell the truth" approach. No lie is perfect and can be felt so it is eventually uncovered. Then, by that time the damage can be even worse. This was a good film and I hope they do more.
An interesting conundrum. What is more important? The truth, or preventing a war? Is lying about the fate of 430 Starfleet officers and crewmen, worse than a war that would kill millions?
Very nice! Powerful ending, as others have said. And good job keeping the viewers in suspense till everything was revealed. Good job by the cast and crew. Good directing, too.
This was freakin awesome! Wonderful story, really great acting, camera work, special effects, tension, pacing and and and. Wow, that was the best trek I saw in a long time. Wow, wow, WOW!!! Thank you so much!
The spunky young helmsman -- I mean helmswoman -- was great! She stood up for herself, and did it respectfully. Decorum, which is often lacking in nuTrek, was a hallmark of classic Star Trek.
It's hard to do, because I've lived for over 60 years. But I have to say, I'm impressed with this short film. Congratulations on the imagination, and a great story.
I'm still stunned from this episode. Its one of those stories that should go into Cannon. The events that brought everything to the brink of war and are snded in an instant. Very well done!
❤ You guys did an excellent job. The story line was very well. Thought out and the special effects !!! and the acting was excellent. You guys should be very proud of yourselves.
Wow! Great little fan film! Felt like it was shot back in the day! Great use of sets and great lighting! Love the tracking shots also! VERY cool stuff! Effects rock my world! Shout out to Ray and company! Keep them coming!
This was an AMAZING episode!! Kudos to cast, crew, and all involved in bringing this story to life! How many soldiers, sailors, and pilots have suffered this same fate?
Wow that was truly epic. So well done on every level, thanks to all involved. It would be a shame to let such great characters and cast go to waste, what better way to honor Cherokee and her crew than to feature more stories of their exploits leading up to this point? Again, thank you for such an incredible story! 👍👍🖖🖖
Speechless. This is what Star Trek should be about. Incredible job everyone. Maybe Paramount can learn from your example. TOS was the best of us, even more so than TNG.
un believeable that's amazing... I found him from FMA and DBZ way back when... and just started developing a passion for Star Trek and that Online MMO... find out he's all over the place with Star Trek... It's awesome to see Vic out there @@davidkuhn8946
I've usually got some nitpick or other no matter how much I like something, but damn - nothing on this one. The story was brilliant. The acting was great, the effects were first-rate. I didn't see that ending coming That's for sure. Everyone involved should take a well-deserved bow!
Im glad to see Viv is still keeping his fingers in the Trek pie, an amazing talent great job directing this. I loved STC and felt a loss when it committed suicide I wish it could have lived a long life. the sets and costumes were excellent the acting top notch. my only complaint was its brevity. congratulations.
