everyone has their own style when it comes to reviews, i think its important that you find one where you feel comfortable, otherwise im liking this vid
What I loved the most about Kyle's character development is the way he reacts when people say "May the Force be with you" to him throughout the game. He starts with "It hasn't been so far." Then it goes through the "Thanks", the "We'll see" and the "Yeah, you too" until he finally says it back, which is also the last line of the game. It's so beautiful because it is so subtle.
As a kid I grew up playing the sequel, Jedi Academy, and only after a while I got my hands on this one. This one seemed longer and more complex to me than Jedi Academy. Sometimes I would even get lost or stuck at this game. Thanks for the nostalgia! :D
When my siblings and I first got this game as a copy from a friend, we were stuck on Kejim for years, and could only go further with cheat codes. It was only after we used a walkthrough after some years that I could actually play through Outcast properly. The two games are still some of my favourites. Even though I have not played them in 5 or 6 years, I can still remember most of what happens in each game.
I can relate to what you're saying. Some of Outcast's missions were quite tricky and you'd find yourself lost often. Academy was pretty much straightforward compared to the previous one. I'm at an age where I no longer have time or patience for gaming, however this remains part of my childhood. These games had a certain quality and felt much more rewarding than more modern games. Cheers!
These games are timeless. And a devoted community that has made enhancements to all 3 games + the expansion pack will hopefully make newer players give these classics a shot. All 3 are masterpieces, jedi knight will always be my favorite one tho. I just love how they had fmv's for the cutscenes.
Actually as a kid I didnt know you get a lightsaber because nobody got to this point yet. I just thought: "Cool I can play a fps just like my older brother". And then when I got the lightsaber I was like: "DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE WTF? That's awesome!!!"
I loved all those dark forces and jedi knight games. But today's Jedi fallen order and jedi survivor are absolute masterpieces 🤗 Huge and captivating with best graphics. jedi survivor is probably the best looking game I've ever played
I did to bud I have the old pc discs for all the dark forces games but nothing that will run them and these are pretty much in my top 10 games of all time so it was a no brainer for $20
10:52 good point about that scene. I remember, some people tried to play the scene with invulnerability cheats and they didn't know what was going on: they couldn't win and thus, te level never ended 🤣
Amazing about outcast was its moding capability. Also you could import the game into Academy and had its graphical goodies and you were able to play with a staff and dual Light sabers. I modded shit out of this game. I still love it to this day man. Best ever. Fun fact: When you use cheat code setforceall 7 when using mind trick, you could play as an imperial and use him.
Throughout the years this is the one game I never put away. It still functions on Windows 10 64 bit perfectly. Can't say the same for Halo. What happened to game discs just working????
Outcast and Academy are golden gems. I really enjoyed Star Wars as a child, but never knew about what the Expanded Universe and playing Outcast then Academy is what introduced me to all the books/comics. Recently downloaded Academy on Xbox and it’s bought a nostalgic tear to my eye playing it.
When I was young I was stuck on tge Nar Shadaa mission for months even stopped playing for a while. Eventually I found a written guide and progressed. 😅
@Teh Psychedelic ah that’s so good. I appreciate the vote of confidence haha. Enjoy! Remember to check out “PCGaming Wiki” for Jedi Outcast for the various fixes.
How to tell if someone used to play a lot of Jedi Outcast / Academy multiplayer? They use Heavy stance for poking while saber dueling enemies. ( Click and strafe right to have the character swing right and you try and land and keep the tip of the saber on them as accurately as possible, as long as possible, enabling you to one-shot enemies. )
@@idiot_city5444 Except that one was heavily telegraphed and until you cycled through the rolling animation and could actually throw the stab out, a more knowledgeable player would side step out of the way and slash diagonally upwards while stepping back ... had that done to me so many times in JKA MP, not so much in JKO since that one's moveset was more limited.
im curious if youll do a video on the mods movie battles 2 and movie duels for jedi acadamy keep up the great work im going to go back and watch some more of your vids now
Hmm, i have downloaded those mods, although I haven't had the chance to try them out or even find playable servers. Since i'm in Australia, the ping would be pretty high. I might check them out in the future, but at this stage my plan is to cover a variety of older games to fill up my catalogue. Thanks.
