Sparks, Ron and Russell, are not regular musicians, they are ARTISTS, painting their canvas with pure genius, notes, tones, sounds, rhythm, words with wisdom, humor and sence. All delivered with keyboard and the magic voice of Russell 😍😍💖💖💖💖💖 They are marvelous! Giving life that extra I need to stand everything else. I feel the greatest gratitude to them. ❤️❤️
Absolutely wonderful, a very private pair of brothers ( as it should be ) but one thing they do share with us is their genuine affection and appreciation for us fans old and new. Fabulous.
Ron and Russel are remarkable artists, and remarkable individuals. I would say more but I don’t know how, at the moment, and i usually know how to say things good. If you know their work, you know that they are special, and inspirational to artists everywhere. Maybe that’s enough for this comment.
When you announced your new album, I said there were no more notches to crank up after Hippopotomus and I was right. What I didn´t know at the time was that you had invented new notches behind my back. Congrats to a super album, one I´ll never get tired of. Then again, all your albums are still great and still played..
And that leads to the next question; is it already a new album, just waiting to it's physical birth through the presses??? 🤔 Or another movie or theater project? 🤔 Or something we would never think of? 🤔, I mean their collective creative minds go beyond what most of us can imagen. "It's the bullet train, bullet train, so what's next?"
I was 13 when first heard This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us, in Soviet Estonia, your music and records where a rare thing in USSR then, I was blown away by this song, lifelong fan ever since, thank you for your music, Sparks, the amount of joy you have given can't be put in words!

Don't worry Ron, nothing wrong with cassette players in cars. I have two cars with cassette players so double retro cool or double embarrassment. I have ordered all three media types. They look wonderful. The world has always felt better when listening to Sparks, at least since 1979 when you first came to my attention in the UK. It didn't take long to backtrack on what I had missed a few years earlier and have kept you by my side ever since. Thankyou.

Wow! Received signed photo which shall be framed, and the cd. All I can say about the Drip drip drip cd is it's sheer JOY! Loved it on first hearing, its like a familiar pair of slippers which are so inviting. Has made me smile a LOT!
I was classed as weird for liking ‘This town ain’t big enough for the both of us’. And when I got the album Kimnono my house and heard ‘Amateur hour’. I mean I was only 7 at the time and I wondered what the fuck am I listening to..? That was it for me, Sparks lead onto eventually Hawkwind, Julian Cope, Gary Numan and Bauhaus, to name but a few . Thanks Ron and Russ for shaping my life. I’m still classed as weird for liking that one song way back in the seventies. Then I went and bought Propaganda, with saved up pocket money, which is still in my my top ten favourite albums. We had a music day where we would bring records in and play a track to our classmates and then explain why we liked it. There were some truly atrocious songs follwed by a red faced mumble .i chose Amateur hour and just said “ If you like Bowie, Roxy music and Velvet Underground, then this is for you...just listen to the guitar riff” The music teacher was aghast at such noise and half way through took the needle of the vinyl and said something like, “ smut will not be tolerated” . So I became the weirdo, and I loved. At parties I wore eyeliner and the girls couldn’t get enough of me. So once again thanks Ron and Russell, I even lost my virginity to ........I’ve said enough, Sparks have been with me ever since the opening words .’zoo town’.....thanks for reading...
A pleasure to read! I think it's interesting to read about others memories. Sometimes one can think "that's nearly my experiences too🤩", and to me it seems like a lot of Sparks fans have more than "only" Sparks in common. Many life situations as well. @@girlfromgermany I bet he still has that...not sure what it is....but, being a California car it probably hasn't degraded much...I was in California in the early 90's and saw cars that were 30 years old looking perfect.....my Saab 900 Turbo Vert is 33 years old and is still in damn good condition...

Can't believe I didn't run into the Sparks in my earlier years. Discovered you at age 58. I was really into punk and new wave music and can't understand how I didn't discover you earlier. Now my life is complete. :)
What an amazing collection of release options! Makes you want to have all of them! Most importantly, Russell and Ron taking the time and effort to communicate to their follower base in this manner shows how their perception and how they value us. Have you experienced this with anyone else? Absolutely first class! Besides their music I love these guys!
I couldn't see any way Sparks could improve on the brilliant eponymous Hippopotamus. But, we're talking about Sparks here - and they've only gone and done it! I've pre-ordered the CD, but the artwork on those albums is just so stunning, I think I'll push the boat out and get those also. Well done guys. Stunning work.
I preorded the CD, Booklet and Beret (sad we didn't get to see it) but I'm so happy that the album is doing so well. This is the first Sparks album release I get to experience since becoming a fan, and what an album! Almost tempted to buy the vinyl that has the poster, just for the poster. Keep the good work up❤️

I'm completely in love with this album! I've been a massive Sparks fan ever since my parents taught me to use the record player. I'm so thankful that you guys are putting out music in 2020 - it's the greatest thing to happen this year. On first listen, the thing that I loved was that every song is a SURPRISE. The good kind of surprise. Not like the rest of 2020! The more times I listen to it (and I've listened to it a lot) the more I think that this might be the best thing you've ever put out. I don't even know what to say other than....my life would not be the same without your music in it. THANK YOU.
I have read your comment, probably several times, though it was a few months ago now. And now when reading, I've got tears in my eyes!? So different life had been. Sparks is one of the best medicines that humankind ever came up with, beside penicillin (antibiotics), insulin and vaccines for e g smallpox AND the close future will tell: vaccines for the damn Corona, Covid-19. I think that is pretty high up, considering how many cures and stop medicines we have. I have a couple of them I DIDN'T mention, having both Bipolar Disorder and ADHD, and having them gave me my life back. But when bad days struck NOTHING is better than listening to SPARKS. I have a couple of playlists for that purpose mainly. EVERY time I've written, and will write "Thank you", addressing Ron and Russell, it's from the bottom of my heart. They literally cure my dips, something chemicals never done.
love the new album an 8/10 from me and slightly better than hippopotamus which i really liked - would have made a stronger single record with 11 tracks i think but that's mostly because i'm lazy - flipping records is effort - was tempted to start a casette collection at one point but earning a minimum wage i can't afford to collect too much - very glad i ordered the picture vinyl though it looks great :D anyway thanks for the cute unboxing video - also if any sparks record people read the comments please reissue lil beethoven on vinyl THANKS.

But nothing can compare with the excellent job that you did with the Swedish music radio-theatre. Which you know of which I am speaking. And I must say, I have never had such spine-chilling strings from thee such as "Garbo Sings| And how can it be, that my favourite song from all that you have created, is from the newest album? That being said. @Neft out in the cold is a supreme tune. It is stuck on my mind,. That does mean it is excellent and great.
Love you guys. Thanks for all the great music and for still plugging away at it. I was super-fan and even a fan club member back when I first discovered Sparks in the early 80's at the age of 12. I saw you at Magic Mountain back in the day, bought every album I could get my hands on even some then out of print stuff from used records stores. Sparks was a huge influence on me as a musician as well. Thanks guys and good luck in the future.
Nice to see them utilising the book format; personally, I would buy all my CDs that way if I could. I wonder where it started; it's been popular (along with many alternate - not always good - formats) in Taiwan, where I first bought them, for 10-15 years at least. And yes, they look great on one's bookshelf.

They have described themselves as "workoholics", so the thought of them just sitting and going through their collections of Jordan shoes + hand sanitizer or refrigerator magnet are ridiculous 😂😂😂! They are + and - 15 years older than me, and have four times energy, just watch Russell's "Exercise lesson" on Twitter etc!!! I get tired of thinking of it! 🤣 But... Perhaps THAT is the secret? Keep both mind AND body in shape? Or I know it is, only being lazy 😣🙄

3:28 I've bought the CD book version; the CD artwork is different (much better!) than the disc in the digipack version 😃 So happy with this excellent album, and this nice physical product
Thanks for this video. I have the color vinyl version on order although I really want them all. Each has something special to offer. Have been listening to the LP at least once a day since it was released. Another creative masterpiece! I’m a fan since 1974... you guys never disappoint me!
'79 player is out of commission for the time being, so I'll get the CD. LP release looks great, though. I have avoided the album on Spotify until I can first hear the proper quality, I think I did the same with Hippopotamus. Also, I think Ron shares my frustration with Jewel Cases!

"I'm almost ashamed..." SELF-EFFACING Ron 😂! Either a very modest one, OR something that stylistically works better with the Leo he actually is. Like a 1950s Cadillac 😂 You can mount a cassette player in most cars, after all, eg hide it in the glove compartment.
