Peter Murphy, in addition to having in his history being the voice of Bauhaus, is a very complete artist whose image was one of the founding icons of gothic and dark, his appearance as a hyperactive vampire and his aesthetic plus a deep and varied tone of voice gave him they earned a place of respect both in his group career and in his solo works. In his solo career, he opened the range of atmospheric dark towards aspects more related to classical songs, pop without losing the spirit oriented towards a certain avant-garde and dense climates without falling into soporific atmospheres. With the Bauhaus reunion at the beginning of the 21st century, he put his solo career to one side and returned to the stage to embody the vampire as if time had only passed to make him a better artist and an exquisite singer.
Some critics have called his lyrics "pretentious" or "incomprehensible" due to his excessive taste for poetry and treatment of metaphysical and religious themes.
Peter Murphy is currently working with the renowned musician and producer Trent Reznor (from Nine Inch Nails) whose fruits will soon be released.
