His voice is so rich and haunting and sexy and dark and powerful -- point is -- Peter has one of the best voices in rock music and growing up listening to his music I have grown up in love with his voice. Never get sick of listening to this!
AnbruchASMR. I live with someone who for three years has played this four times in a row, daily !. Sometimes daily. I have a couple theories but we won't go there...
A strange kind of love A strange kind of feeling Swims through your eyes And like the doors To a wide vast dominion They open to your prize This is no terror ground Or place for the rage No broken hearts, white wash lies Just a taste for the truth Perfect taste, choice and meaning A look into your eyes Blind to the gemstone alone A smile from a frown circles round Should he stay or should he go? Let him shout a rage so strong A rage that knows no right or wrong And take a little piece of you There is no middle ground Or that's how it seems For us to walk or to take Instead we tumble down Either side left or right To love or to hate

It's funny how Peter stands there and lends his INSANELY amazing voice to a track that was his own anyway and he seems so humble being in the company he's in. He's the icon. He's a pioneer in this music. Let alone music altogether. I miss the best part of the 70's and 80's.
@@stevendavis5266 I know right. I had someone compare Peter Murphy to David Bowie and I was like no, they're not even the same. I'll give credit where credit is due and say David Bowie was great all on his own but there's no comparison. I hate it when people do that. Peter Murphy is great, he's like a whole other level that no one else can even try to reach. Not even the late great David Bowie.
Peter Murphy is British not Australian. He now lives in Turkey. You can really feel Peters vocal power in this setting , I love these clips (with Reznor and friends) I wish this stuff was made into an album. One of the best live musicians you can currently see.
This song had me in tears because the emotion of his voice is a million times stronger than the original studio version. And his vocalizing the synth part was so pitch perfect - it is my favorite version of this song. Thank you Peter!
would i be wrong in saying this song is a sublime masterpiece... and anything made by todays artists make me want to gouge my eyes out after listening to him... I don't think he'll ever get the true recognition he deserves for this song and so much more of his work...
I re-re-discovered Peter again just this year, and had nearly forgotten how special he is and what he does to my soul upon listening to him. The fact that I got to meet him in person at a local radio station many years ago is just icing on the cake. He is such a slightly built man, I remember how startled I was knowing that THAT VOICE came out of that slender man! But I can hear anything from this album and be transported back, remembering precisely where I was, what I was doing at the time. Such an amazing album. And an amazing man.
He's fearless. One of my all time favorites. In the early days of Bauhaus you just loved everything about their sound but it wasn't until he went solo did we get to know the true depth of his amazing vocals. He's a witty son of a gun too.
I saw Peter Murphy at City Gardens in New Jersey in about 1988 or 89 and I have to agree that he was incredible live! We did the "groupie" thing and hung around his bus until he came out. He was EXTREMELY COOL and very kind to us. Lots of photos and interesting conversation. One of those bands and singers that will always be a classic in my mind.
Bauhaus had broken up before my time, so I never really got into them, as a group, but Peter Murphy continued his solo work after that point, and when my friend introduced me to his music, I completely fell in love with his voice and his lyrics. I'm glad he's still performing today, and I'm really looking forward to his new album!
I remember when I first heard this song, I thought it was amazing, and Peter's voice was and still is incredible! He has such a signature sound to his voice, kind of like Neil Diamond of Industrial Rock!
One of my favorite all time songs. Just shared the original video with my son yesterday. Looking forward to sharing this version, as he is actually singing it here!
Bauhaus engaged me through Uni. and challenging years. Pete Murphys voice harmonises pain. Trent and NIN expressed my rage and orchestrated a carving of individuality. Together sublime! #bauhaus #nin #Petemurphy #nineinchnails #music #gothic #trentreznor
It is always an enchanting honour to hear Peter sing now days. I grew up with Bauhaus. Thank you for this clip! What a voice, one of the great voices! And well played on guitar sir. ❤🖤
He is getting deeper in his range, that which was pretty deep already! Comparisons to Leonard Cohen here are appropriate, a wiser mature man who loves lullabies, this is one of his best-penned
Notable, con mi padre siempre escuchamos este hermoso tema tomandonos un rico stolichnaya, lo mejor por lejos una hermosa etapa de mi vida y siempre sera recordada con este tema dentro de mi corazon ☺🎵❤

A strange kind of hair... but a serious deep dark voice and wonderful song. There was a radio station in my hometown in the 80’s, that broadcasted during late night until dawn a program called "the flight of the bat", and this song played very often. I loved to hear it in my 80’s lonely nights.
I saw this video probably twice in the last 3 months. Then today I went looking for a Peter Murphy song and RU-vid brought me back here. Maybe it's the mood I am in, but this time I cried 💔

Peter Murphy at his best. I thought the video version was excellent but this can't be beaten. Thanks for posting and thanks Murphy for putting your heart and soul into a brilliant track.
Once I rolled over in a Citroen 2CV while listening to Peter Murphy. The radio keep on playing after the crash, it was a nice soundtrack for the moment.
