This makes me quite emotional to see this. Memories of my childhood which I can’t get back. Plus memories of my Grandparents who lived there for years and are no longer with us. The music adds to it as well. When I first watched this video I don’t mind admitting I was in tears. Someone build me a bloody time machine!!

My whole family is from Littleborough, my mum still lives there. We were a forces family and visited Grandparents, aunts/uncles/cousins in Littleborough throughout the 70's and 80's , then came back to live when the old man quit in about 1990, so I have many memories. I live in West Sussex now, and visit occasionally. Loved the shots of the park (with Central School!!) And Hare Hill Rd in particular, plus the Caldermoor as we live in Calder Avenue. Not the best boozer. There's a shot of Billy Howarth's barbershop on the corner next to the chippy - anyone remember that? I'll share with my sis, thank you!

I remember that barbers he always had the little fire going!! I lived in littleborough until I was 5 years old then used to visit grandparents in the school holidays for years afterwards.

@@mrkipling2201 it was a little coke or coal stove, I believe, with a mica window. The place was always red hot! Billy (or Billy's son - he had a beard and looked like a Bee Gee) was a fantastic bloke - I think he passed away some years ago.

@@motortraction that’s the place!! The bloke with the beard was called Ian I think. Always really hot in there, definitely!! Do you remember the shop that sold everything on the high street?? It was on the corner opposite Victoria street?? I lived on Starring Way for a couple of years when I was born then we moved to Victoria street for a few years until we moved to London.

@@mrkipling2201 definitely Ian, thank you for the memory! He was a really nice fella... My great-grandmother lived one street over, Barehill road: tiny, narrow two up-two downs. I remember the place in the 70's looked like something from the 30's! Do you remember a little sweet shop/newsagents around the corner, maybe Sutcliffe Street or Townhouse Road? I'd be given loose change to buy a copy of the Beano or Whizzer and Chips, and a 10p mix. That was all about a million years ago....

1:30, Is David Clough, on his Rochdale AFC, Goldbond round. The house he's at is my brother's old house on Town House Road. He reckons mid eighties, before he had double glazing fitted.

He wouldn't be collecting Goldbond in the 1980s! It didn't start until 1991!

Lovely shots Paul, takes me back ! Happy memories of a great childhood there. The house I grew up in on Townhouse Road is on there together with my Gran's house on Wellington Street. Things seem to go at a much slower pace back then.

Looks like mid 80's. Some of the cars look like they are from the 60's ( Commer Van at 2:40) but there is an Escort at 7:05 on an 'X; plate, which was 82. The kids at 3:09 definitely had 80's clothes and hair. Maybe even 88 or 89. Thought the Escort was mine for a moment as I used to live on Calderbrook Road. Convinced that one belonged to my next door neighbour, Rod I think his name was. Looks like it was another world !

At 4:02 there's a glimpse of Littleborough Nursing Home on the left hand side. There was a church there before which was demolished in 1985 so this must be 1986 at the earliest.

It's definitely post-October 83 because that's when the Coach House Heritage Centre opened. I think Lumb's electrical Shop packed up around 88 so mid-80s seems right to me.

I am O'Byrne now but was Boylan. I changed my name when I was 19 as due to being estranged from my father. Carol
