A sweet girl pretends to date a popular kid at school but ends up falling in love for real
Keita, Koyomi, Rin and Yuu are school-mates, friends and neighbours. Yuu likes Rin and Rin likes Yuu, but immaturity, shyness and inexperience stops them from being frank with each other and expressing themselves. They play games instead. Enter Kazuma who may be a cog in the wheel or a road block for the friends.

Why is her neck so stiff? Why are introverts depicted so weirdly stiff?? Introversion is not a bad thing but in movies when they associate it with being gullible and a wreck, it kind of annoys me.

Japanese dramas have always been problematic. They either portray inappropriate relationships (teacher & student falling in love with each other) or bullying. Female leads are often written as submissive and insecure and the male lead as a total jerk.

to be fair not all jdramas are like that. But I agree with you, for most cases it's just really weird. That's why I only have a few that I actually liked in jdramas. Sadly those are the short ones and not even that popular. I don't get why toxic relationships are the popular ones tbh.

I remember encountering this movie for the first time on an airplane theater system, but I didn’t finish watching it because I got bored. Good thing I didn’t finish because Yuu and Ren have a terrible relationship.

If I remember correctly you have forgotten one of the most important parts, Yuu hated that Ren started treating her so nicely. Yuu liked how SHE let him treat her. One of the points in the story is that not all relationships are the same and that just because someone doesn't understand a relationship doesn't mean it is wrong. In the media there are countless stories that mix in "different" relationships with toxic. I think that is what was done here.

I was hoping yuu and Kazuma would get together Ren was childish,rude and just had this whole stereotypical attitude of being mean to your crush if you love somebody treat them gently with respect and affection you don’t be rude to them and make them doubt themselves that’s just idiotic You want to make them happy and see them smile And make them laugh so hard their cheeks hurt But of course there’s a line you want to give them their space and you don’t want to be too clingy What Ren was doing was totally wrong Making yuu act like his fake girlfriend and even going as far as making her sleep with him He’s disgusting and I don’t like him The fact that Ren supposedly loved yuu so much but was easily seduced by Mika he’s disgusting Ugh 😑

Also guys there is no perfect relationship. When you like someone or even date someone sometimes we doubt ourselves, sometimes misunderstandings happens, sometimes the person we love can hurt us bcs like i said relationships are not perfect and we are not perfect. If we love that person we have to accept the flaws that the person has and we should forgive them but it all depends on the situation. And ofc this is not everything into a relationship.
