I like how they didn’t use the “mean/blatantly rude popular guy + normal unpopular girl who’ll do anything for him to love her back” trope with this one and she actually went with the guy friend who’s been with her all this time. It’s usually used in school life romcoms and I despise it with every fiber of my being

liking someone is fine. but you better tell them that you like them, don't just bottle it up. if they like you back thats good, but if they don't, accept it and move on. I think most of the time, the embarrassment comes from liking someone, doesn't say it, and ends up doing cringe stuff trying to make sure she/he notices or likes you back.
