Hello, Luke here! I just wanted to say, this mash-up was such a joy, and that's *before* I got to 2:20:38 😲 It's so much fun to see both playthroughs put alongside each other like this, the editing is tremendous, thank you and rock on 🤘 -L
I normally don't like these mashups, but Luke is right, this is fantastic! It's like hearing a thousand bad cover bands and then hiring Arnel Pineda to be the actual singer. lol
There are dozens of us! Nah but seriously it makes me immensely happy that this niche thing I willed into existance purely for my own enjoyment found it’s way to so many likeminded people. Thank you for the kind words! 🙏 😊
Also I’m watching this in bits and pieces because 5 hour long video and omg just hit the Luke singing Bloodbourne parodies of Disney songs and that was amazing xD
I’ll try hard not to sound like one of those people who gives a long thank you speech after blatantly stealing other peoples content and hard work but I’m glad that this video that I put together mainly for my own amusement seems to have brought some enjoyment to others as well. To everyone subscribing because of this video, unless you like videos about niche competative fps games maybe this isn’t the channel for you 😄. That’s it, enjoy the video!
I honestly think that 'Sir Ian of the Higtons' is probably my favorite piece of editing in this. The simple jokes are always the ones that end up getting me the most.
I don't want to be greedy, but if you ever end up doing Elenn Dark Souls 1 with Eurogamer that would be incredible. Loved having this to watch, need to go back to Eurogamers dark souls stuff. I never actually finished the last episode of their last playthrough because I didn't want it to end.
Luke’s Bloodborne streams were a boon last summer, and as soon as he’d finished I went back and watched the Eurogamer play through and enjoyed that as well. Seeing them combined is just amazing, especially with all the subtle-yet-excellent contributions you put in. Well done all around.
I'm 30 minutes in and already feeling the need to come and say a massive THANK YOU for putting this together. I've watched both of these playthroughs separately and it's so great to be able to re-watch the best bits of both this way. Update @ 1:20:40 That "Come On Eileen!" -bit was brilliant. And you've just placed it in the middle of this five-hour video?! My appreciation for what you've done here just keeps increasing. Update @ 2:08:50 This video has cool transitions between the two playthroughs all over the place but this is one of the coolest so far. Update @ 2:20:40 What have you done?
I wanted to rewatch one of these playthroughs, but couldn't decide which one. Then I remembered this exists and it's wonderful! Very good editing, you really added to the humour of Luke, Aoife and Johnny :D
Was expecting a half assed compilation, had a tight edit with so much added jokes instead. Really great work, I had not saw eg's playthrough so that was really great (but by god, how I was slightly taken aback by aoife 's comments, didn't knew she was that savage...).Luke's playthrough was the one that convinced me to finally had a real run at the game and it's now one of my fav game, thanks for the compilation, didn't knew I needed it.
It's so fun seeing the wholesome stream of Luke at Oxtra Juxtapositioned next to Eurogamers pure trash talk based stream. I admit that I did snigger with the duo as they did at the Fist of Gratia, meanwhile Luke is slinging around the Amygdala arm like a kid with a new toy. So much thanks for this!😂😂
That’s awesome! This compilation doesn’t really paint the whole picture when it comes to that particular running gag as a lot of it was cut for time but i’d estimate it was referenced about 15 times each episode 😄
This is like doing a playthrough and unlocking new game plus, or perhaps more relevantly, having watched every single ox venture since the first onethen going back and listening to the podcast now as they come out. Bonus content for our enjoyment, and well done
Thanks so much! Loving this mashup more than I can express🙂, and more than I expected (since I saw at least Luke's Bloodborne series live). But seeing Aoife and Johnny's playthrough (which Aoife referred to today in her Dark Souls livestream, so I wanted to see it) interwoven (expertly, may I add) through what I already knew was an amazing playthrough is a truly special treat. Thanks again!
I've been rationing myself through this over the last week and having such a wonderful time reliving both playthroughs, and enjoying all the jokes you added! Thank you for your hard work. I've still got a bit left to go but just had to comment on your incredible editing on the Lady Maria cutscene, my compliments 👏👏
luke's bloodborne livestreams is one of my like comfort places on youtube, so i'm v glad this came up in my recommended!!! well done on editing this much, 5 hours is a chonker
For a change a random suggestion by RU-vid actually pays off, I saw Luke's when he live streamed it but I never have gotten around to trying to find EG's, maybe now I will
Luke’s playthrough is one of those comfort playlists i watch weekly, so to go from that majority sanitized language stream to Aoife and Johnny’ raw and uncut play-through is a weird experience. 10/10.
OK. The impromptu Luke a capella musical interlude made me think I needed to find a doom/bloodborne music mashup to play. Then one was provided. An excellent video all round so far and I'm not even half done. Thanks!
This is amazing! Now I don’t have to go back and forth between videos and channels to watch my fav people play my fav game! Thanks for making this, I will watch it often lol
How did it take youtube 2 YEARS to recommend this to me, I've watched these playthroughs many times over and it never once thought to show me this video, For shame youtube for SHAME!!
God, I forgot how much the Johnny-Aoife dynamic makes me laugh. "Aww, whomp!" Absolute classic Eurogamer. I really don't have any interest in Soulsborne games, but I like Johnny and Aoife, so I watched their playthrough for a while, I don't think I ever finished it though. I like Luke, but I felt like a single-person stream of Bloodborne wouldn't be enough to hold my attention. Combining and condensing the two streams like this is perfect for me, because I get to reminisce about the era of Eurogamer that I really enjoyed, and I also get to enjoy the best bits of Luke's series that I never would have seen otherwise. I, like many others, would be very interested in seeing another mashup of EG Dark Souls and Ellen's Souls Academy highlights as well. Thanks for making this!
Just... One: Aoife and Johnny's free and easy swearing whilst Luke grits his teeth and the worst he lets escape is a contemptuous "Jerk." (Always well-deserved.) Two: Luke's perturbed expressions in the beginning juxtaposed with Team EG idly picking at threads going "Ah, there's the Cleric Beast having a little tanty" -- and then, Luke progressively catching up and joining them in 'oh this is what we're doing to ourselves today, huh, sure why not' land over the course of mere weeks.
Thank you for editing this! I don't have enough time to watch the streams, but I was able to finish this by watching like a half hour after work each day. Thanks!
I think this is my favourite bloodborne video ever. It is so well edited, has such a delightful sense of humor. It is long but doesnt drag on. Its probably the video i have watched the most this year. It is also absolutely wonderful to put on in the background while sleeping or working. Thank you so much for this video.
I really enjoy what you did there, two amazing channels with amazing content in one video. I enjoyed the seperate videos of bloodborne and dark souls very much. Have you made a video like this of their dark souls play throughs? keep up the amazing editing
A great compilation of their respective runs. I loved watching Luke's run and it's why I got Bloodborne and snagged a PS5. I love seeing their different takes on various situations, and then comparing how I've been doing. I'm up to the 3 hunters in Yahar'gul before The One Reborn, but I took a break for Elden Ring. I think I somehow killed the Shadow of Yharnam without ever seeing the giant snake summon. I wasn't too overleveled for them, if I recall. I hate the Forbidden Woods, so I went and did Cainhurst up until Martyr Logarius and then went back to the woods for the rest of the area before returning to Logarius. I didn't realize I could kill Djura without aggroing his pal, so I ended up killing his ally while Djura was firing on me; accidental hard-mode in an already hard game, lol.
I also had so much trouble with the brainsuckers in the Upper Cathedral Ward that they actually took all my Insight and the Doll went inactive on me. I'd been spending Insight on fire and bolt paper and such, so I didn't have that much on me going into that area. It was only after a lot of dying that I realized just how weak they are to bolt damage.
I finally pushed myself to play this despite it being outside my comfort zone. All the way through Vicar Amelia, I struggled to find the fun, but then I found this! Some of my favorite creators on the same journey. I've watched it in pieces alongside my playthrough, and it's really helped make the game very special and fun. So thank you so much. What an excellent idea, brilliantly executed and edited. Cheers!
Toughest enemy is right, that vileblood in the Cathedral is exactly where my Bloodborne adventure was cut short, still haven't got past him and its been two years!
Haha, understandable however one of my favourite Johnny quotes is ”I can’t believe that’s how they’ve chosen to live their lives” in reference to oxbox and oxtra being ’clean’ channels... and then they went and became head of Dicebreaker, a clean channel which must’ve taken some getting used to 😄
@@RecyllandHyde I can’t remember specifically but I think it was in some random Eurogamer video around the time when oxbox first started streaming from loading bar and Johnny had been on as a guest and then talked about how hard they had to focus on not swearing.
Substitue Jane Science Fact: Centrifugal force does exist, it's a fictitious force. It's a little weird as physics relies on your frame of reference. In a non-inertial frame of reference (accelerating), centrifugal forces exist. In an inertial frame of reference (stationary or constant speed), centrifugal force does not exist. Example: You're driving your car around a roundabout at a constant speed. Your tires turning in create a centripetal force, centrifugal force acts in the opposite direction so that your car doesn't accelerate towards the centre of the roundabout, and it's the force that throws you into your passenger seat. To an observer, these forces would not be present as you are moving at a constant speed.
Would you consider doing one for Oxtra’s Dark Souls livestreams and Eurogamer’s playthrough? These must be incredibly hard and time consuming to make, but I would watch the crap out of that.
Thank you, it would be fun but it's not something I have any plans for in the foreseeable future. And as you said this took ages to put together so that would be a long long long ways away if that's the case
Good job Luke never asked Rob from PS Access for tips. But this vieo just made me miss Johnny on Eurogamer, would him them to come back for a load of guest appearences.
I consider Bloodborne the second hardest FromSoftware game behind Sekiro and it just dawned on me that you start the game with the ability to have 20 health vials. While in the other games you actually have to upgrade flasks. Imagine how much harder it would have been if it hadn't been for that.
