A few weeks ago Stephanie and Philip from The Chateau Diaries met us at Marc's childhood home, which is also a chateau. You can watch the fascinating tour that Marc gave them, and the beautiful film that Stephanie made of it here • EXPLORE THIS MYSTERY C...
In our own video we're going to show you a bit more of the chateau that Stephanie and Philip didn't have time to see, and then take you all the way over to Ardeche to our very own chateau that we bought in 2016. Ours is a very different beast (and what a beast it is) but we've taken so much inspiration from Marc's family. We hope you enjoy it!

If it weren't for Stephanie and Philip's 'mystery chateau' vlog episode last week, I'd never have discovered the 2 of you. I love your attitude Amy - it's infectious! I hate washing walls and that is what I'd been putting off since Sunday. You got me thinking about the purpose of washing the walls - ready for painting and renovations in my own house. So, thank you for inspiring me to get down to doing it! In Life each of us has special gifts from above. If we were all crafters, gardeners, plumbers, restoration geniuses or kings and queens, we'd be a real boring bunch! Your attitude of "I'll try anything if it will help further the purpose and needs of this chateau and my family" is what makes you special. So don't look at the things you have difficulty doing. Instead, embrace each as a lesson to learn, a new skill to work on and a new feather of knowledge to add to your hat.

Oh, Amy, your laughs and jokes are so invigorating to hear! Such a humble but fundamental outlook on life ... I used to work in a school which song’s lyrics had “a zest for the future and the power to find life good” ... For many years, I took my pupils on exchange trips to Privas and the Ardèche and each time, we would marvel at the views on autumn days, across the Rhône valley all the way to the Alps ... I shall never forget the rustic beauty of that region! With hugs full of the sprinkles of spring in North Yorkshire 🤗!

I was delighted to see the extra filming you did for Stephanie. But I loved it when you got home and started talking about the plans for your garden, especially the wheat.
