I have experience in wreckers almost 16 years starting in the late 70s and I'm hear to tell you key board warriors that Rory knows what he is talking about many times I've taken a 1 ton 4X4 off road on recoveries and wished that I had a wrecker like trail mater. So my suggestion is sit back and relax have some ice cream or a snack and let the man do his job without complaining. Awesome job you two keep up the awesome content and as always be safe 👍
Onya Mate, well put, just hope the dropkicks you are referring to take note and realise that people on the job and have experience must have more than a rough idea what they are doing. Many times I often think why is he doing it like that? but I keep my mouth shut as I know everyone has their own way of doing things and as they are on the spot and can see things I cannot, they know best.
Don't reciprocate to other peoples bs you seem like a good person I read some of the comments about keyboard warrior's aka clickbater's just don't respond to their stupid bs they want the attention for content to build their snowflake channel...
@@timvanasen6711 I'm just having a bad day and it hit me wrong when there's a subject that I know nothing about I DONT make STUPID comments but thank you anyway.
@@rayrussell6064sorry for my typo I didn't type I before don't to begin my comment sorry you're having a bad day idiots get on my nerves too I'll take my own advice butt in my clinical defense these little clickbait's are fun to mess with lol 😆
@@timvanasen6711 your find and no apology necessary I don't deal with STUPID very well I probably should be more patient but as the saying goes you can't fix stupid or stupid is as stupid does I normally let things slide because it's not directed towards me but rory does know what he is talking about and today was that day you sir have a good evening
You still da man..anyone who thinks they know better probably doesn't.. the proof is always in the pudding, experience talks, bullshit walks...love watching you work.
I left Moab today, after 3 months, I almost had to call once. That Tacoma in the video is a friend of a friends truck… he was very happy with everything!
@@josephprentice8354 Both are fast learners, couple snatch blocks, one of those fancy Matt's bungee ropes hooked up to the MORRVAIR and Mater, winch her out in no time, of course we will need a few barges and Some a team of real Navy Seals 😉
@@johnhpalmer6098 Yes. It's called hyperbole, an absurd statement used to emphasize the point. As I type I am re-watching he is pulling the Tacoma onto the triple axle trailer. The size of the trailer gives such flexibility for a wide range of missions and in this case speeds the loading. He just towed the Tacoma on with no time wasted and now he just straps both trucks down, folds the ramps, and heads off to the unload point. That is elegant!! Great planning.
Rory, you know your truck(s) and their capabilities.. Anyone who tries to ARGUE about ANY decisions in YOUR BUSINESS aren't worth the time it takes you to explain why you made the decision in the first place!! (just sayin') Thanks for taking us along again❣️ Watching TrailMater is ALWAYS a treat to be savored..🥰 Stay Frosty... Keep your head on a swivel... Safe travels, friend❤️❤️
People should stop criticizing and just enjoy the scenery and enjoy life's wonders and let the Professional show how it's done correctly and safely........
Rory is the best he got me out of a hairy situation and was very humble under the circumstances and the later hour's I wouldn't of had anyone else recovering me huge thank you again
Absolutely correct, need more than one tool in the toolbox. You've just got a really big toolbox and a playground or office. Keep up the good work Rory!
Thanks for the explanation of the difference in tow trucks. It is your company and you know best how to deploy your fleet and get the job done. Those folks who criticize need to either put up or shut up. And you are right, nothing will ever replace Trail Mater, a one of a kind work horse for unique and difficult offroad recoveries.
I like the way you describe what your doing and why. Your absolutely right Trail Mater might be copied, but it will never be duplicated. Combine that with your knowledge and no one can compete. Keep doing what your doing and sharing it with us
Great job and explanation! With that said, you could design and build you a stand-off for the back of Trail Mater out of a piece of 3' pipe to use only in situations like this one. A single piece of pipe would never have the control that the sling does but would have kept that Toyota at a distance safely for the short, smooth ride back to the trailer. This is coming from an ON ROAD tow recovery operator of 30 years, not just a Keyboard wonder. You just can't beat Trail Mater though, that truck will DEFINITELY do things that no other tow truck can do!! I appreciate what you do and sharing your vast knowledge with us all here on RU-vid!!!
Another great job completed. We don’t worry about negative comments, you will always have winners. We just love watching you do your job, thanks for taking us along. Louisiana fan
Of all the amazing recovery videos I have watched you do, I never realized Trail Mater didn't have a traditional sling type hookup. Your explanation of the features of your fleet is very understandable. You have unique solutions for diverse problems!
This video hits home for me. 1. 5 years ago I was driving an SUV on a busy highway & the passenger site front began to shake badly, I pulled off to the side & then saw my front right tire, rolling down the highway ahead of me just after my vehicle went "clunk" as it landed on the far right side of the road - I was so lucky to get out of the "busy lanes". My mechanic sent a guy to pick up my tire - he found it - and the tow driver had to put a metal plank down to get it on the wrecker. What a mess; & then 6 months later the engine threw a rod and it got sent to the junk yard. So happy Rory was able to assist the woman with another excellent recovery; & I'm sorry your other rig has "health" problems. Hopefully it gets a new "heart" (engine) and serves you and the public well. The pick up and recovery, S of Green River. That road, if going further south, passes Moonshine Wash on the W & Three Canyon on the E (one arm of that empties into the Green River). Further S is the turnoff to Horseshoe Canyon with the centuries old rock art. The road then swings SW to a junction; SE is toward Hans Flat Ranger Station & Robbers Roost Country - and canyons - W is toward the highway which puts the driver a quarter mile S of the W turnoff to Goblin Valley. My hope is the woman gets her Toyota repaired & that she can complete her intended travel, at some time. Nothing but compliments for Rory & his rig that had to travel all the way from Moab.
Great explanation on the differences between your two wreckers. Real world experience is FAR better than any schooling!! And you have that real world experience. You know what you have tried and you know that works ... and why. Loved that you took the time to explain more as you went along. Great video, as usual!!
The Master at his craft again. Great video as usual. Eager to see the new power plant in the new wrecker and to see the next new tool/vehicle build for recoveries Rory.
I truly appreciate your explanation of what you're doing in different circumstances and why. That's how those of us that listen learn. It has to be aggravating having to defend and justify what/how you do to the armchair tow truck drivers that can't even get their beer open. I know you won't forsake Trail Mater. That beast of a machine is one with you working on recoveries. Always happy to see a video from you. Thank you for taking us along. Stay safe and GOD bless
It was really great to meet you at the Moab Car show last weekend! Trail Mater is REALLY impressive up close! Keep up the great work and hopefully I never have to call you for a recovery!
Thanks Rory, I think it’s awesome that you explained about the difference between the new wrecker and the off road wrecker! I always enjoy watching your videos brother, thanks for sharing Rory! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸
Great video as usual. Sound was great even with the wind. Thanks for explaining the difference between your 2 trucks. Trail Mater is awesome. Will your new truck be given a name? New motor will be sweet. Great job Rory. 👍👍
Rory keep doing what you are doing man, you are very good at it. You are a professional who builds the tools specifically for what he needs them for. Lol ignore the keyboard warriors, i see you standing out there in the sand, mud, snow and rocks doing what you do not them.
Proper tool proper job love the content as always your doing awesome and the talking understanding what you're doing is very important and helpful 👍 Rorery you are a blessed man
I love how Rory always explains what and why he is doing something. I'm interested in the new tow build, But nothing will ever get me excited like hearing Trail Mater fire up and start rolling. That truck has such an amazing personality and it turns me into a little boy again when I see it. Another great vid, Rory and it was nice to see and meet Kris on this one(I haven't seen her before)
When you said it looks like a creek to me I busted out laughing I live in west virginia about 2 miles from the Ohio River , which is a big River .the first time I saw the Rio grand, I'm like this is a creek ,where the heck is the river?
I grew up in southern Indiana and boated on the Ohio as well as the other rivers in the area. As that's the lower Ohio, it's actually one of the bigger rivers in the country there but to me it was just 'regular' size. I moved to California and now live a few hundred yards from the Sacramento river. When I first saw it I was like "this is it?". Even the Columbia is pretty puny compared to the Ohio, Columbia, Tennessee, and Mississippi back home. Mid-West rivers laugh at Western rivers the way Western mountains laugh at eastern mountains!
You had better be careful, someone might accuse you of knowing what your doing!... Nice to know Trail mater didn't get fired! Keep maken em and we'll keep watchen em! Thanks for sharing!
Your darn right there's no replacing trail mater. That truck is unbelievable. It is the most amazing off road wrecker that's ever been built. No offense to Fab Rats intended. Trail mater and Fab Rats have quickly become my favorite channels.
It was cool to see you and your trucks last weekend at the car show wish I would have had more time to visit with you but we had family stuff going on Saturday
WHAT??? You mean someone who never towed, let alone recovered a vehicle from hells gates, doesn’t know YOUR business better than you? Lol, don’t let them get to ya! You’re doing awesome!
Good video. I think every situation will be different. I watch you, Matt, Paul & Eric and you all adapt to the current situations nicely. I don't think Trail Mater would work well in the area that Eric normally works in, but you never know. Always learning.
Fun fact I spent my very first 4th of July in the States in Green River, Utah, that was in 1989 LOL. Hi Chris! LOL Rory the river explanation was on point! that was most definitely a creek where I am from. Your channel, your tow business you know what you need in your fleet. Such a rad channel!
Your trucks are perfect! Nobody can do what you can with mator! Looking forward to see new truck and its uses on the show! Please dont retire mater! Mater is amazing with you behind wheel, and only you!!
Rory thanks for explaining the other use of the other wrecker. Its funny everybody are wanting to build a tow truck. But none will compare where or what MATER can do but most of it is your knowledge of experience of the higher class trails . Enjoy your videos
Thanks for answering a question I had about using an A-frame behind Trail Mater. Had never seen you use one so have been wondering why. Keep up the great work you do. Look forward to seeing 👀 every new video you post.
Rory I have been a recovery wrecker driver for many years in my life. So here is the idea I have for you with Mater. Since you have a receiver hitch on him why not fix a drawbar that mounts in the hitch and goes out to your pully/ hook to keep the vehicle your pulling spaced away from you. It only has to be a straight tubular extendable accessory that you carry those once in a while jobs. All in all I enjoy all you recovery work videos. Keep up the great work your a Real Professional.
