To help us understand the beauty and joy of nothingness Ajahn Brahm talks about his spiritual experience in the jungles of Central America. Ajahn Brahm challenges us to spend half a day on our weekend doing nothing (just simply giving ourselves an opportunity to become peaceful).

@@thecklaweldt8773 Yes absolutely! I agree Ajahn Brahm is helping the world to find ways to lessen their suffering by lessening their attachments which is the basics of Buddhism. However people have to keep in mind Ajahn Brahm is either enlightened or almost enlightened {nothing} that is why he has nothing to lose unlike the most lay people not on the noble 8 fold path so let us hope the world population gets the vaccine out of compassion to oneself and others and the virus will weaken and stop mutating in to deadlier variants! Ajahn Brahm is the closest I hear as a modern day Arahat, Sadu Sadu Sadu! With Metta to the world!

Ajahn, this Dharma talk is turning out to be one of the best I have heard. I have needed to be gently reminded that my living space is for living and not things. My new understanding is too deep for me to explain just now. May you and the monks have a great Rains Retreat. Will hopefully hear you again on the other side of it. This will be the time for me to divest myself of many of the things which have accumulated over the years prior to becoming a lay Buddhist. Sadhu. Sadhu. Sadhu. 🙏🙏🙏

I did this too! I had collected so much STUFF over 30 years and thanks to Buddhism and AB I realized that it was all weighing me down. 80% is sold or donated and I feel so free now!!!

Buddhist monks attain the sacred needs of clean air, clean water, whole food, safe sleep, and true love. True love is the peace of the organs in true love with each other. This is the real Garden of Eden. What good is the real Garden of Eden? Peace. What good is the intellect? Attached to reality, everything including civilization. Attached to fantasy, very bad things. Attached to the Garden of Eden? Nothing. Peace. True bliss.

Actually I seen nothing wrong with wearing hats or haveing flyes around. It don't bother me. Also I seen no right or wrong. Eveything has its place don't be attached to cold or hot then you are free. Don't make right or wrong.

I always felt this, Indic religions do not really fit into a western mind.. This monk looks so silly, he can't even be serious ! So many silly jokes and silly laughters.. I tried listening to him with an open mind but could not change mind opinion about the westerners embracing Indic religions ! So, after I completed watching this vedio, i learnt "Nothing" !!! ha ha ha
