I used to own this watch. It is absolutely stunning. Beautiful watch. Kept time down to the second. Extremely accurate. That said I had to let it go due to the size. It is very heavy, and very tall. On the steel bracelet it weighs a lot. Very heavy. Looks great on a nato strap but with two layers of strap under an already very tall watch it just didn’t work. I have a 7 1/4” inch wrist for reference. If this watch was 42mm, and not so tall it would be one of the best watches out there in its class.

Marathon really needs to offer this watch in their Anthracite finish. That's why I am holding out on purchasing one. Otherwise, a killer chronograph!

That's a very tough looking chrono, and it looks like they paid attention to everything. It's just a little bit big for my personal taste, but I am glad it exists. I certainly know guys with big enough wrists to pull this watch off well.

I commented on another of your reviews. About owning this exact watch. The only watch I will ever own. There not cheap. As, of this the year 2022. The price tag for one in Canadian funds is $ 6’000.000. And ( in my view ) worth every dime .

I have the 41.5mm gsar that I purchased in 2018. I love the bezel action, and has no play once set. I love how easy it is to read my gsar. I love the knurling on crown is makes it easy to wind it. This csar looks incredible but might be too big for my 7 inch wrist. One thing I don't like is the price. You can probably get a pretty good condition omega seamaster 300 chronograph for this price, just not sure if it will be as durable. Teddy awesome video and looks like incredible micro photography. Keep up the good work.

Full out Monster watch for Monster arm

Fug that's a "THICK" watch... 17.2mm!?! Gawdam. I wish Marathon made a GMT version of the 41mm GSAR.

Why is this not a COSC certified chronometer though it uses a valjoux 7750? I mean I know the general answer could be “they didn’t submit the movement for the COSC paper” but why not? Wouldn’t that make it much more marketable and up there with the big guns Breitling, Rolex, Omega ? Wouldn’t the cost to do this justify itself? I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that 7750 can make the COSC specs. Or am I missing something? By no means am I pretending to be anything near a watch expert but Marathon seems to be no nonsense. Also why doesn’t CSAR state on case ISO6425? Is that also an issue of not submitting for certification ?

If your wrist is 7, then that proves that wrist size is not nearly as important as wrist SHAPE. Because mine is ~6.75 and I wear bigger watches than you that fit perfectly, and never have the same size complaints you do hahaha. I'm convinced wrist shape and "wingspan" of a watch is everything.

I would bloody kill for a watch like this. Well no not really but hopefully one day. It looks so bulky it oozes of military juice.

Unlike a sinn ezm chrono this is a base 7750 like in a 1000 close out watch from a bada bing company

Overpriced even with all my discount military discount Black Friday discount I can buy a sin chronograph for the same price which will appreciate, or at least hold its value the non-chronograph marathons hold their value well, but this chronograph is overpriced Comparable

Need a smaller version of the CSAR, hopefully in consideration by the company, great Chrono but unable to wear it. Maybe a full MaraGlo version with no Tritium Tubes in order to help reduce diamater & thickness. Ready $💰💵💰$ when they are ⌚ smaller CSAR. (Funny, ain't most diver & pilot's if not all of them are fit slim dudes?) why such an obese watch?

No offense, but saying these (marathon) are the best mil-spec watches for the money is incredibly ignorant.
