Full Story on Taste of Kalanga Food: magrizamademec...
The diversity of BaKalanga is mirrored in their food, which includes the use of affordable, basic, locally accessible products as well as a broad range of cooking techniques and preparation styles. Kalanga Food's tastes and flavours evoke the nation itself, as well as showing fascinating similarities to other cuisines such as Nambya and Karanga Food. In this documentary, we learned the origins of many BaKalanga people's favorite dishes, which are united by a disarming honesty and ease of preparation, and we discovered that each fascinating flavour and intriguing new texture comes subtly through the taste of the whole, from the most interesting way of preparing Gwisa (pearl millet) to Tjihwabha (biltong) designed to extinguish the fire!

~ About Magriza Made Me Cook:
» Magriza is slang for uGogo (Grandmother in isiNdebele) and the name of the show is derived from Prince's inspiration for falling in love with cooking; his grandmother. The goal of MMMC is to document and serve Africa's diverse food culture, one dish at a time. We believe that Africa has got unique meals that ought to be talked about, and most importantly, cooked consistently. We believe in the values of Ubuntu, Respect, Creativity and Minimalism.

I shared the video with the group Ngati bakeni bukalanga Group on Facebook and the reaction has been amazing , the group really appreciated the way you highlighted their culture and food and how it connects with other dialects around Zim and other neighbouring countries. And it’s all about your tirelessness . On behalf of our Kalanga brothers thank you❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great initiative indeed but lapho othi Khalanga its wrong. Its Kalanga not Khalanga. I understand ukuthi as Ndebele you might pronounce it ngaleyo ndlela but imagine nxa uli Ndebele being called Ndevere or Bhothoko. Asifundeni to pronounce izinto accordingly ikakhulukazi izinto zama languages. All in all wathama documentary yaka naka tjose nzekulu.

@@bhekanindebele4888 when in Botswana, just say u are ndebele or letebele in setswana. Its a sotho setswana old word used to group and reference to Zulus/ndebeles and other Nguni groups. The people will just think u from Botswana. Since they are ndebeles, Zulus and Xhosa in botswana. To avoid police harassment, best places is Phakalane and Gaborone North. No Zimbabwean is harassed by police, they are free. Doesn't matter the person has papers or not. This is because these two areas around Gaborone, are private land.
