It's the digital age. If these preachers really wanted to spread the word of their god as efficiently as possible, they'd do livestreams instead of flying everywhere. You can still gather people in a big hall in front of a huge screen and preach to them from the other side of the world. But then, people might not be willing to pay as much for that, would they?

I might be wrong, but when I read the Bible Jesus chose a life of suffering, no money and no entitlement or ownership. He died with one piece of cloth on him, that is what he had. He spent his time with the sinners, prostitutes and thieves. It seems that if you can't fly with a bunch of demons in a tube, you best not pick the life of preaching the Gospel, cause that is what the gig is about /-:

My old pastor (bishop) at Mt Gilead FGIM has a private jet with gold trim and landing strip at their church... I was so conflicted because there are people that live below the poverty line that attend these churches... One of the many reasons why I don't attend church anymore.

A friend of mine did her dissertation on sects, and she went to some of these evangelist meetings, and that's exactly what was going on. Well, not private jets, but the preacher, in between speaking in tongues, said things like "jeeeessuuuuus we deeeeemaaaaand economic profit, we deeeemaaaaand it! Halleluleeeeeeeliiiia!". And made passive aggressive comments about donating enough money, or else. Jesus only loves you if you pay enough money! They weren't even hiding that they were a huge money scam. She filmed some of it and showed it to me and some friends, and I'm still not sure if I should be morbidly fascinated or horrified. Possibly both.

When I was a Christian I would come to the healing services held at OBM in Botkins, OH. The last time I went Jesse Duplantis was the healer. Service started with music/worship and then offering. People exiting aisles all around and following the hallways down to throw envelope after envelope into the buckets and back to their seats. The music finishes. Jesse Duplantis did not feel that the congregation gave enough, so he came on stage with a microphone, telling the band to start up again. The musicians follow as Duplantis tells us that “If you do not give enough, your healing could be reversed”. They then did offering collection for a second time. He’s been on my shit list ever since

I see this prosperity gospel snake-oil salesmen preaching on late night TV at the nursing home I work at almost every night. One resident wanted to find her wallet and a phone and I was thankful she was physically unable to do so. If I hear about a "thousand dollar seed" one more time I'm going to lose my mind.

Sad and heartbreaking. The Church is being attack from without and within due to the malice of satan, true Christians can be comforted that the gates of Hades shall never prevail against it.

I was once attended service 10 yrs ago which was sermoned by a great man of God (I forgot his name though). He is an evangelist going to every part of the world. He was travelling economy and always talking to a lot of people about Christ the Lord. When one of the engine of plane seems to stopped mid air, the people panicked and started to cry. On that instance, he stand up and shout “the Lord sending me to other place to preach the good news, He won’t let me die in this plane”. That very moment, the plane engine start again but everyone still crying. People in the tube are not demons (as Kenneth Copeland mentioned), most of them are lost souls and waiting for the salvation of The Lord.

Nailed that joke, Jesus Christ!

I'm a believer in Jesus but this guy clearly has his priorities messed up. My grandma has been a missionary for twenty something years in India (fifty degrees in summer and monsoon rains. Sound comfortable?) - and no-one knows her name except her close family and friends. You know why? She is the most humble person I know - not interested in money, wealth or comfort. In fact, she has been through the most uncomfortable situations in order to reach people who are truly suffering in life threatening ways. From caring for starving fifteen year old boys and girls in prison for life, just for stealing a packet of chips, to showing love to elderly ladies packed into prison cell rooms so small that they literally have no privacy. THAT is what true faith in God looks like - not this lie that we need to be all comfortable in order to be blessed and to bless. It's the opposite - the less we have physically, the more we can rely on God to get us through. That is incredible faith. That is incredible love. Jesus didn't arrive and become the grandest, richest, flashiest King the Jews and the world had ever seen - he came from heaven's riches down to live as a lowly carpenter's son. He wasn't much to look at physically (Isaiah 53 verse 2) and he was looked down upon by high up religious leaders to the point that they wanted to kill him (Matthew 12:14). But you know what Jesus had instead of riches, which rot away anyway over the years? He had deep love for those who were at the end of themselves. He healed those who had given up. He saw and lifted the broken ones. He came down to their level and said "I am not afraid of being seen with you. I am not afraid of your struggles and demons. I love you. Follow me - I will be with you to the end of the age. " That is real life.

The funniest one is the guy that goes I bought a 20 million dollar private jet, cash! And then I bought a bigger one three times the price of the old one, cash!!!!!!

He must not have read the passages about Jesus walking every where, or Jesus traveling by boat, or Jesus riding a donkey, or Jesus spending time with the poor and less fortunate, or Jesus going without food, or Jesus washing his disciples feet, or Jesus being a carpenter, or Jesus talking about how harmful the love of money and worldly possessions can be, or really just anything Jesus said. Huh, maybe we're reading different bibles...🤔
