At first I was like there’s no way I’m watching a 2 hour video of cooking thanksgiving meal… not correct. I so enjoyed this. I really like seeing Dave and Chris (and Chris!) cook and it is refreshing to see the realness and messiness of their cooking in these uncut takes. It’s kinda revolutionary. I’m just a home cook, so honestly seeing them improvise and screw things up and just enjoy cooking is a refreshing reminder at the holidays in particular. Also heck yes to salting > dry brining. Great video, thanks for it.
The most genuine "these guys are real chefs" moment for me was when David cut up a bunch of mushrooms for no other reason than that they were there and he felt like he should, because you can always use mushrooms, for anything. Great video!
Chang is doing work, like he is in the heat of it on a Saturday night at the restaurant. He’s got 4 to 5 dishes going while the others are still on number 1. It’s really cool watching a cook do their thing. Juggling 20 different things in their head at one time and timing everything perfectly.
This was the best thing that I could hope for while actually making Thanksgiving dinner today! I was so distracted by the video it’s a miracle that I could pull it off. Dave and Chris are my favorite team to watch and the sheer grit and determination to just pivot and persevere taught me more than any perfect menu ever could. I’m a damn good home cook, but I learn how to wing it better every time I watch you. Adding Chef Bianco was a delight. Thank you Dave… I hope to someday thank you in person someday. And I love my Anyday pieces… you’re so right. Game changing. 👍🏻
Oh heck yes!! 2 hour DC and Ying video followed by the Ugly Delicious watch party later?!? Let’s goooo… I’m def getting all the Thanksgiving feels today! 😊
Omg this was soo good 🤗🤗🤗 extra people, egocide, twists turns, some existentialism, screwed up dishes, a frozen bird, and some delicious food. Seems like a perfect Thanksgiving to me (just missing dining on that turkey neck 😂)
Came here for the Dave Arnold’s stuffing I’m making tomorrow for a crash course, stayed for the Dave and Chris of it all. Bianco is the cherry on top (his episode of Pizza on Netflix blew my mind). Thanks DC and MM media crew, this is a chaotic delight. Happy thanksgiving, pilgrims.
I'm unfamiliar with Chris, but the back and forth made me laugh a number of times and he even reminds me of what Thanksgiving often is as a mix of characters trying to make fun and the best of food and family. These are easy going and laid back while also hectic and informative, a nice mix. Happy new year and holiday season to the crew. (hope you guys have another show or season in the works)
Dave looking content with himself as he pulls the whisk outta the cheese sauce and the fingers on the temple like ok what else do I add to the bowl loooool 😅
Nice! You did the one thing you shouldn't have done...make a Key Lime Pie when you were already winning! (But, you're also doing it a day ahead, so maybe you just got the win-win?? 🤔)
Awesome, just watched an ATK video where they simply salted a bone in turkey breast and left it in the fridge overnight so that's all I planned to do. Thanks for confirming!
If you ever do a give away, I hope it’s that cutting board. More than that, I hope I win it. Here I am watching famous chef’s cook by the seat of their pants having a bunch of wins, and then there are a few misses. The lesson I learned is ask for help. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake, try something new, and clean as you go.
This is some epic sh!t talking and cooking 😂😂😂 who needs podcasts? Also* - you should have made the cranberry sauce into dessert like Chris said, and made an apple chutney-ish sauce for the turkey *yes, my only professional experience was at mcd's 😭😭😭
