just when I think country is dead (for the past fifteen years) I find this. Thanks for posting wow didn't even know about Blue Sky Riders probably because pinhead biz zombies like promoting shite instead of real talent nowadays.
@@DavidPennybaker Thanks. I am using a different account than 4 years ago, but I was the one asking the question. Only because the lyrics are brilliant. I have been the other person in this song, the hopeful savior, twice. I had no chance against the demons.
@@gordonbelle1375 Gary Burr is a brilliant lyricist (and a darned good player and singer, too) . . one of the best songwriters around, IMO. Just today (on a FB live show), Gary mentioned that they (thought) they were done with the song . . . even having started the demo . . . when Sam Tate said "hold your horses" (OK, I made that part up LOL) and said that one of the lines needed to be replaced with "So if you're thinking that maybe you're the one who could save me, baby this ain't no merry go round" . . . the line to which you just referred. Quite possibly the best line in the song . . . horses on the merry go round compared to the wild horses. Brilliant! Check out Gary Burr's music . . he's only got something like fifteen #1 hits.
