As much disharmony as there may have been off-stage...on-stage these guys were magic. Rest in peace, David Crosby. This remains my favorite song they ever performed.
Damn, all the music I grew up on. I am sooo happy to have grown up when I did. I'm 65 year old "girl", lol, & I wouldn't trade it for anything. I was raised on some of the best music ever. Perfect example right here.
I discovered this song (and this version of it) about 6 years ago. I haven't been able to stop listening to it since. A vocal harmony masterclass and a beautiful song ❤
Absolutely. To be able to leave something so incredible for everyone is amazing. My Dad introduced me to CSN. He passed away last year and I really miss talking with him about these guys.
Look around me I can see my life before me Running rings around the way It used to be I am older now I have more than what I wanted But I wish that I had started Long before I did And there's so much time to make up Everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving Underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Oh when you were young Did you question all the answers Did you envy all the dancers Who had all the nerve Look round you know You must go for what you wanted Look at all my friends who did and got what they deserved And there's so much time to make up Everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving Underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away And there's so much love to make up Everywhere you turn Love we have wasted on the way So much water moving Underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Let the water come and carry us away
This is my favorite Crosby, Stills and Nash song. I've grown old now and can understand what they were singing about. Life is too short to fake it, you'll feel a lot better standing up for who you are.
I bought this album in 20 year anniversary of the summer of love 1987 for those of you who were around in 67 an cant remember because you were tripping your face off . I also graduated high school that year in 87 . I was 17 getting ready to turn 18 that August . I have been in love with CSN for 33 years and I will always love wasted on the way I didn't have to turn 50 which I do this August to figure it out but I can say there are friends that I can't wait for them to figure it out .Cause I love you guys Travis Barcomb Andy Latimer Joel Allenbaugh and John Hope come on guys it's been 30 yrs this summer and I still love you all
I saw these guys at Woodstock 1969! Harmonies were second to none! Thank God some things never change! Rock in Peace David! You are loved and will be sorely missed!❤🎶🎼🎵🎤🎸
Everyone says I was born late. I was only 4 years old when Woodstock took place, yet I would have been there if I was older. Peace, pot and microdot my friends😊
Each of C,S,&N are special in their own way. Nash is a very careful musician, Stills is never afraid to go and thrash his guitar, and Crosby is amazing in that his vocals never stand out, meaning his blending is so seamless as to be invisible. 💙🙏🏼
@loristoneking5671 listen to David and Graham do Guinnevere by themselves in concert, with Graham playing harmonica - haunting - the ending is EPIC, and the audience is blown away.
Their harmony in that song is so beautiful. A lot of groups had good harmony, but something about Dave, Steve, and Graham's voices blending is even now after over 50 years, so magical
My son's high school class sang "teach your children" to their parents at invocation. I will never forget it, and every time I hear this, no matter where I am, I can't speak or I'll cry 😢❤❤
Just pure magic, these three guys....My heart is broken that "and now we are two", as Croz has flown away. But his music ....wow, such a legacy to live on. Timeless.
Got misty eyes here watching this... And it's 2020 with COVID-19 Pandemic still on its run... They should come back together again + Young... For good & forever... Setting aside their egoes once and for all... Sigh...
God, I love all three of these guys, and all of them together. Look at them -- three such different personalities, singers, people, but put them together and -- YIKES! We were so lucky to have their music during our coming-of-age years. I think I am a better person for it.
NEVER WILL I TIRE OF STEPHEN STILLS , GRAHAM NASH AND DAVID CROSBY WHEN I HEAR THEM SING IT'S GOD GIFT TO MY EARS BEAUTIFUL HARMONY SING ON MY BROTHERS ✌🖖🙏
Just found this piece couple weeks ago. What a discovery! So beautiful harmonies, lyrics and melody. I will cherish this particular track for the years to come.
I've loved this song since I was a teenager. now I'm 50. Your beautiful harmony makes me thinking over my past time and feeling better. your sounds so so so good. It seems like you guys are singing in front of me, i live in South Korea, though far from your place. Thank you for beautiful harmony.
Nash has said that he likes his music to be personal--it doesn't get much more personal than this. And I love the views of them in profile singing together. It's how I'll always remember them, now that Croz is gone.
So many years wasted with petty arguments about trivial matters, so true! I love all their music, for they sing the truth!!! God Bless this gifted trio of artistic magic!!!❤❤❤
Too bad they didn’t practice a little more of what they preached - perhaps we’d have had a bit more music from them before it was too late. (I’m mainly looking at you, Nash and Young).
one of my favorite songs from one of their best albums. Great performance too. Saw Stephen Stills live couple weeks ago. 70 years old and still going and still jamming on those guitars!
I was lucky enough to stand about ten feet from the stage over 20 years ago and watch these guys showcase their artistry, from the first note, I got chills, imagining them at Woodstock and knowing for a fact I was seeing history and feeling some of the best music ever played. thank you guys, we love your music.
From another 60/70s geezer...these guys are the best, sans question. True rock and roll & meaningful. Best harmony. Just saw them...after 30+ years...awesome!
Back 9 years later (from my last comment). Even though it was already very unlikely, it's sad now with the final realization that we won't hear / see these 3 voice sing live together ever again. You can practice all you want, but these 3 unique voices just blended heavenly. I've played this repeatedly since the news yesterday of Croz's passing. Heaven may include being transported back to this performance.
@@emm352 I was about to say that. Saw them on CBS this morning a few months ago. They could be making incredible music and are really blowing it by being petty.
Songs with meaning...real heart felt experiences behind each and every word...such music is timeless...I look back on my brief moment on earth and I review my actions, my efforts and I realize I could have treated people better, done things with more commitment and used time more thoughtfully...then I aspire to live the next half of my life making up for this...doing better...having learnt...from these mistakes...thats what "living" should be about...
Oh when you where young did you questions all the answers did you envy alt the dancers who has all the nerve ...And there's so much time to make up everywhere you turn.. Time we have wasted on the way... so much water moving underneath The bridge.. Let the water come and carry us away.. I don't get tired of listening with this music and the lyrics..
The first time I heard this, I felt shattered, and every time the same. Bonnie's voice imbues these songs with such vulnerability. Her version of 'Love has no Pride' another heartbreaker ❤
When I wore younger mans clothes professor Mooney said the most important decision we make is how we will spend the time we have here... My time wasted I desire to leave regret behind to alas, embrace the hour glass...
"Wisdom once thought to come with years, really arrives at the time your mind opens inside itself. Age has nothing to do with it, Its whenever we become open to all that is. " R.Eastburn
These were my college days.... marching in Washington.... marching in NYC.....Tin Soldiers and Nixon's coming......and now we have Trump.....LOL,. without the magnificent music......!!
Lionel Ducote Thank you for your service. My best friend is a Vietnam Vet. AND he told me that he and several fellow vets hoped, after Vietnam, that the US had learned its lesson around colonial wars and being " the police of the world. " Sadly, in my opinion and his, valiant men and women continue to be sent into harm's way to make Corporations and their CEOs richer.
tantraman10 Do you think your marching will be recorded? History is all about who won the war! Nothing else. Rich people hire us poor people. I have never been hired by a poor person. your you and I'm me, were different, You are acting in Your Own interest I am acting in the Country's interest. Should we have let the Nazi's win?
Nazi's and the Vietnamese are apples and oranges. Vietnam was part of French Indochina... A COLONY to make French Corporations ( Michelin Rubber) rich. We just took the place of the French and made some American Corporations richer...the beginning of the Military-Industrial- Congressional Complex that General Dwight David Eisenhower warned us of..WW II and Vietnam....not even CLOSE to analogous!

So prophetic, at least looking now from 50 years out. Amazing song with a very gentle but clear encouragement to make the most of the time you have now. Go for it, we may never come this way again....
I listen everyday. Just bought the autobiography of Croz and Nash. These guys were my escape from reality when I was young and troubled. No bigger fan then myself. See you in Omaha in August, Graham.
For most of the years these guys reportedly pretty much hated each other and David Crosby was a real a-hole but every now and then they’d put everything aside and create some REALLY special music.
When I first heard this on the radio I thought it had to be the most beautiful harmony I'd ever heard, on a par with Graham's idols the Everly Brothers. Then someone told me it was CSN. It had been a few years since their biggest hits and they were a little out of the limelight, but came roaring back with this masterpiece written by Nash, especially, for David who was crashing badly on drugs. The drugs didn't seem to be affecting his remarkable singing talent though.
+vanislefan peeps like Janice Hendrix and colbain are very talented but haunted. some of the best painters are never recognized until it is too late. what key do you sing?i think I am mostly a tenor. I love opera bluegrass and country music as well. take you rap and stick it where the sun does not shine. insulting to women
@@Godskingdomwithin , yes, they are all part of the American musical experience and reflect the deep, now sadly DYING soul and spirit that was once uniquely America.
Sure you've heard it so many times but of course you're right.. I was in college 1968-72 right in the thick of it, though I think we all just sort of took this remarkable time in music in particular for granted.. so much changing, such talented groups and musicians in the offing, just surrounded by it. Then it just kind of slowly started slipping away.. to where it is today. Many of wish we could back to relive those years, in spite of the wars, racial problems and so on. An evolving time, not perfect in any way, but it was our lives to live and we did.
Bud B I am going back and listening to music that I somehow missed during that time. being raised in a very conservative area these guys were considered either dopers or draft Dodger kind of guys. now that I've gotten older I can go back and listen and just be blown away by the music they created Stephen Stills is an absolute monster on guitar vocal and writing Graham Nash is also very great. David Crosby I'm not so sure about. From what I understand he's kind of a toad anyway. But RU-vid is amazing in that we still have these things to listen and go back to and to get in touch with the fact that some old stuff is really really good and amazing. Thanks guys
I was in high school 1966-70 and college 1970-75. Best music era ever, and I NEVER take it for granted. So much variety, melody, harmony and messaging--not like all the negative-energy, angry and repetitive rap junk coming out today.
One of my earliest memories was Suite: Judy Blue Eyes on my silly lil transistor radio. If the harmonies can come through a cheap transistor radio? yeah that says something. I was hooked and I'm still hooked to this day but my stereo is MUCH better.
2 guitars and 3 guys singing and they sound better than 99.9% of so called artists of today with their billion dollars of electronics helping them! This is real music!
Just brilliant. So good to see my CSN&Y heroes make peace with each other. What harmony!!! What can you say about Stephen Stills the most underrated guitarist in the world. The man can play.
I saw them concert in a hockey arena in Denver when I was in the USAF stationed at Lowery AFB. They were awesome, and their opening act was Santana. The marijuna smoke in the arena was so thick that night it was difficult to see the stage.

Yes they do. I love csn so much even though i only met them on the videos that are uploaded on youtube. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ovoXNhuds7s.html
