The anatomy of a tooth. Just a tooth. The parts, the cells, the tissues, (a little bit of nerves and blood vessels and bone) and the surfaces. Anatomical stuff. Terminology. Names. Includes the word, "gomphosis".

I would like to add : as you go down in the vestibular surface your gum become movable. Also : dentin is a cellular part that is produce reparative dentin (tertiary dentin )as a protection when decay invade the enamel to protect the pulp part .. Also dentin is sensitive part as it contain very tiny dentinal tubules contain cells and fluids (permeable) ... decay goes faster on dentin. Like Mr.sam said dentine is yellowish in color that is why when you overwhiten your teeth (using abrasive tooth paste) or acids (soda can) for long time ... since your enamel is transparent the yellowish color of your teeth increase as a result of over using of abrasive t.paste or acids.

It seems more of a case of too little bone than too many teeth 🤔 Fantastic video, Sam. Huge thanks for all your valuable content. I learned a lot from this 😁

Interesting episode....Brings back memories of having 4 teeth removed as a young lad for top and bottom old school glued in braces complete with elastic bands, then there was the 4 wisdom teeth and a bit of jaw out which involved a night in Salisbury hospital and then of course the veneer and removal of nerve when I fell and head butted the pavement with my front tooth. That was fun. Then there was the dog that bit me in the mouth but I learnt dogs don’t like to shake hands with their tails 😇

hello sam, how lovely to see u🤗 . would you say that when a root canal procedure is done on someone they are then left with a dead organ inside their body ¿? I saw some documentary was talking about this and when I asked the odontologist she explained that the tooth is very much alive it's just the nerve connection the one thing that is ...well ...'disconnected' this are my words by the way ..I don't recall hers exactly 🙄
@Osiwan960
@Osiwan960 5 лет назад
I suggest you do some research like Google "why you should never get root canal" it's actually very dangerous...some people die from it! Don't trust any dental professionals!

I'd recommend searching PubMed rather than the internet as a whole.

The aim is to remove the pulp to remove the infection. Much of the tooth is normally without cells, so I'm not sure about the idea of "dead" tissues. Disconnected seems a good way of putting it. Dentists will know far more about this than me.
