It's 2024, and I still have a Sony Cybershot DSC F717, it was one of my favorite cameras so long as it worked, but I only used it for two years. I still have it, it powers on, but has a memory stick error. I loved how the lense/body was easily rotatable/flexible, for unusual angles. I used the night feature often too, the zeiss lense was great too. I save it's sort of a historical, collectable piece, much like I have an ancient early Toshiba Laptop.

I enjoyed your video. I have a couple questions, hopefully you can help me out. Do you know of where to get cards for this camera? I ordered the smallest one (8 gig, as I had read that someone used an 8 gig card in theirs and it worked) but mine doesn’t work. Are there’s specific brands that will work with this camera? Also, inside my lens I can see hundreds of tiny dots throughout the lens and elements. Is this normal for this camera or something I need to have repaired? (They look almost uniform and the same size, so it seems intensional that they’re there) Thank you and God bless.

Hii thank you for your comment and queries regarding this camera! First of all itss very hard to get a Memorystick nowadays, for me I had used a SanDisk memory card (Micro SD) along with a Memorystick adapter that utilises the micro sd card in order to make everything work, i believe SD card from other brand works just fine as long as you had a good adapter for it, I will not personally uses an SD card that is too fast or too advanced as I do not think that it will read it any faster from the camera side. For the hundred tiny dots side, i believe that is due to long time worn usage as I believe that it might have been exposed to dust or too much towards the heat or sunlight, any of that could affect the camera itself, if you wish to uses the camera continuously, you could get it for a lens clean or sensor cleaning at nearby canera shop that still offers the service. Thank youu and god bless you too! Good luck with your camera :)

This camera has no raw mode, or has it?

No it doesn’t, it only have a TIFF uncompressed format built-in if you want to go for the extra miles, but for the cost of your storage. The quality to me its not very distinct but you could give it a try ;)

@@madebyjiaqino problem but your video mentioned RAW mode, which the f717 hasn’t.
