Prediabetes is dangerous and affects millions of people. Many of these people just don’t know at all, and many have received false reassurance from their doctor that it’s no big deal. This video will help you understand what’s going on and what you can do to protect yourself.
Very often, a doctor won’t even check all the needed lab work to confirm whether you have pre-diabetes or not, this video teaches you which lab tests you need to diagnose pre-diabetes, and which lab tests to follow as you reverse it back to normal.
Don’t fall victim to an uninformed doctor, know your status, and rid yourself of this risk factor for horrible chronic disease.

I'm on the lower end of prediabetes and it is amazing!!! My fasting morning glucose is between 80-110, and usually after I eat it's around 100-120. My vision gets blurred sometimes, but not often. I have some tingly feelings every now and then and every once in a while I do wake up achy or just get tired throughout the day. It is awesome!!! I know that sounds weird, but here's the catch. 2 years ago, I was pretty much dying from diabetes. My fasting glucose the morning I was diagnosed was 351. My a1c was over 11. It took about a year before I started seeing dramatic improvement on the keto diet, but it finally paid off. Thank you, Dr Ken for doing these videos. I went on a search for a way to heal without using meds that would just end up causing my organs to fail in the long run. I tried vegan at first and that actually made my numbers worse. Waaaay too many carbs, and I didn't even think about carbs back then as the culprit. It didn't even occur to me. I was being told to eat grains and wheat and all that nonsense. I turned myself into an experiment, weened myself off my meds, and I'm well within reach of being a normally functioning person again. There's no telling how many years I've added back to my life. I was 31 when I was diagnosed, and I'm 33 now. Probably would have had some sort of blow out before 40, the way I was going. Stay healthy everyone and keto on!!

Dr. Berry , my Dr. At the VA said I was pre diabetic about 7 months ago. Well I worked in the VA hospital and saw men get parts amputated and stuff. So I responded to her statement and went low carb that day. I've lost 45 lbs and the best part is the Dr. Attached a note to my new blood test. "Congratulations you are no longer prediabetic." . She has no idea what I did.

I’m going to blow some people away here. My blood sugars were in the 300’s after I ate my crappy diet before. Carbs sugar grains all of it. I was on metformin RX for it. Type II diabetes. I started eating the Keto way on August 13,2018. I dropped all of weight and got my sugars down to 65. They go up to 110 right after I eat but drop back below 100 before an hour after. My AIC is perfect now. I reversed the pre diabetes and malignant high blood pressure. I’m not on any medicine. 🙌🏻KETO🙌🏻

Amber Steademan Hi Amber. I was a hard sugar addict as well. So bad I would literally drink 6-7 cherry dr peppers a day and eat sugars and carbs that turned to sugar. My kidneys completely quit at one time. It was easy for me to kick the sugar habit because I didn’t want to die and I want to see my girls get married and see my grandkids one day. I just got determined. Switch your sugar over to Swerve, erythritol and Stevia. Don’t eat anything with sugar or sugar alcohols in it. Including sugar free gum. After you get your body back in sync with your blood sugars down, maintain eating Keto meals and doing intermittent fastings when you’ve gone overboard with your carbs. If I can do it anyone can YOU’VE GOT THIS!!!!!!! ✊🏻👍🏻

@Amber Steademan I was the same way, but more of a starch addict than sugar addict. I looooved tortillas, beans, granola bars, oatmeal, all the carby "healthy" food. I just started looking at them as poison instead of food. A mental trick that might help you? My sugar was way up in the 350s, 400s when I was diagnosed 2 years ago. My fasting now is 80-110, and never above 120 after I eat. It dipped down into the 60s while still on meds but I've been off them for about 5 or 6 months now. I also fast each day, only eating between 12pm-8pm. Usually it's just once a day now, somewhere around 2pm.

Wish i had known this at least 5 years ago. I never knew how serious pre-diabetes was until my doctor told me in Feb i was a diabetic. There were many times after i ate a lot of pasta i felt terrible. I have had some of the things u mention but as long as the doctor said i was pre-diabetic i never worried. I did not have many of the symptoms like being thirsty and having to urinate a lot. From the few things i had wrong i never would have guessed i was a diabetic.. I am thankful that u r giving us thus info.

Please don't get discouraged. For one, as we age, it takes longer to respond to a change in diet. Be patient, let your body catch up. Two, you may find as you experiment, that your body needs more or less carbs than some others, or that certain individual foods cause you problems that you didn't realize would. It's a long term experiment! Three, there are other factors that affect how you feel and how you lose weight. For me, less than 8 hours sleep and I'm very unlikely to see a change on my scale, for example. Stress is hard on weight loss too. Just keep doing it and relax! :)

Good morning Dr. Berry. I am an internist in VA. I appreciate your videos. I refer patients to watch your videos. Many people have their head in the sand regarding their health! Many are so programmed to seek prescriptions for EVERY ailment, including diabetes! It co$t$ a lot to care for diabetes as you and I have been trained! It's hard to teach nutritional changes when our patients are ingrained to the food pyramid we grew up on, not to mention convenience foods! Thanks for having videos that are clear for laypeople to grasp! Here's to improving the health of our community! God bless!

Hey Dr. Barry. New subscriber here! Just had my A1C checked. 5.7, Yikes! Have been 60 lbs overweight last two years. Made changes last year, making even more changes now Getting rid of the sweeteners, the bread, the grains, carbs this week. Wish I knew this 30 years ago. Might have saved my hair, ha! We are the same age, 50, but you look much better than me. Congrats! Seriously, Thanks for recommending tests. I'm going to be testing with Paleo and Keto. I'm so tired of this extra weight and inflammation. Thanks for the wake-up call with the A1C test. And thanks for your videos, big help. Using your liver videos to help my mom, if she will listen. Recently found out she had fatty liver disease. And her DR. doesn't have a clue about diet and nutrition. Typical, right? Love her, but at 80, mom is pretty stubborn about her eating habits and her food addictions. Keep up the good work. Any suggestions for the floaters and newly developed cataract?

He has advice, and answers for everything bcuz he's gone beyond the distance, and bent over backwards doing his research, and helping people get out of their "danger zones". I noticed over many years of different food plans , and diets that the only one that worked for me, and got good reports with is the Keto Way. It's dangerous for us to be overweight. I still have a ways to go, but I'm getting rid of the unhealthy fat, and inflammation that I have carried around for years that caused me other health issues. You are doing great ! Take Dr. Berry's advice, and also email him, and he will help you. I'm so glad I did. I watch his vids about everyday. Helps keep me motivated, and educated. Never got this kind of education from others. It's been rewarding.

I was prediabetic, morbidly obese, felt terribly with no energy and had the achiness you referred to, and still had low fasting blood glucose. My GP was not allowed to run an A1C under the corporate guidelines with low fasting BG. It wasn’t til I saw a Doctor of Oriental Medicine that anyone bothered to run an A1C on me and he diagnosed prediabetes and put me on keto. Seriously, why do the healthcare corporations not allow A1C as standard bloodwork on everyone?!?!?! He also couldn’t run a full thyroid test because my TSH was within lab normal range, but when my OM doc ran those labs as well, my thyroid wasn’t putting out anything even though my TSH was .02 above lab normal. This is stupid!!!!

Dr. Berry, never in my life has anyone taught me so much about myself and why I have struggled just about all 58 years of my life with weight and chronic illnesses. Always being looked down on by others. A few years back I had a surgeon who after just waking up from gallbladder removal looked at me with deep discust and said, "Just put the fork down and stop eating. You almost died because your so fat but I saved your life." now that is simply cruel. Not to mention during surgery he sliced a major blood vessel or artery by not retracting the blade and almost killed me so he had to save my life ( I read the report). Enough of that, you however are an amazing human being. You are saving not just my life but many lives simply by telling the truth about how our body works. Since I found you a few weeks ago I can't stop watching these very informative videos. Hats of to you for encouraging me to fight for my health. It's been 6 weeks since I began keto. I'm not losing much but I am definitely seeing a huge difference in my body. A couple years ago I was 371(my biggest ever) and struggled greatly to get down to 337 a few weeks ago but I'm no longer struggling. This way of life is a joy even though I have had some miserable days ( probably detoxing) I am just starting to lose weight now 325. Sorry this is so long but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you and every single video you post teaches me life can be so much better for me! Even have a few friends watching you also. I promise I will share because you are saving lives. By the way CONGRATULATIONS to you and your wife on your little one he/she has some great parents! Again words can not express how grateful I am for you. Thanks!

Dr Berry...I am an example of what you are saying here. Years ago an Opthalmologist diagnosed me as being what he called a "glaucoma suspect" because of eye pressure. My, for years said I was NOT pre diabetic because my A1C and glucose numbers were what I call pre prte-diabetic. My vision kept getting worse and it is now damaged extensively. I was not satisfied with this because my vision kept gwetting worse and I was a bit pissed off. I have been on Keto but 90% Carnivore and total carbs (no junk) below 20g a day and this seems to have slowed down if not solved the problem. THE MESSAGE HERE IS THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE DIATBETIC TO LOSE YOUR VISION, and you do not have to be a T2 diabetic. I listened to doctors for years saying I wasn't diabetic because my numbers although close were still not in the diabetic or pre diabetic range. THANK YOU FOR AFFRIMING THAT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME CAN HAPPEN.

Lost 50 pounds with no "sugar" but still rice/beans and fasting sugar went up. 5 days of Keto and fasting glucose 83. No wonder I've been EXHAUSTED for years since my late 40's. Just wanted to say, because of what I've learned from people like you, I've improved my blood sugar so much. When I started keto about a year ago (in May), I'd just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and my a1c score was 7.4. I immediately switched my diet to keto and by the end of 2018, in December my a1c score had dropped to 5.6. Even better, though, was just a few weeks ago I got a new a1c test done and it's dropped further to 5.0. My doctor is amazed and tells me to "keep doing whatever (I'm) doing". Thanks so much for helping me get my health back! :)

He’s on metformin and since keto his A1C is down from 7.0 to 6.3. He’s on other meds for an MI he had 3 yrs ago. His other panels are great. Sorry but that weight loss is not healthy. Better to go slow and sure. 1-2 lbs per week. Keto is about health not how quickly you can lose weight. 50 lbs in 60 days can give you sagging skin and tissue loss. Please be careful and sensible with weight loss. Sounds like you're starving yourself!

sagging skin is the least of all worries. I use to argue that faster was better until I destroyed my own health. I wish I would have known what I know now when I started. My Doctors told me that I had pre-diabetes years and years ago, I complained of severe pain in my feet, they ran some neurological tests said nothing was wrong. I ate some junk food but not a biggie or so I thought. The standard cop breakfast, doughnuts and coffee... and an occasional dessert or candy bar, washed down by a coke... I gained weight in the 80's I tried the Adkins diet and felt better for a while but it was very inconvenient. So it didn't last. I still have a lot of pain in my feet however I have been doing Keto for a year almost, and my numbers at the doctors are better than they have ever been. I am slowly losing weight and doing exercise to reverse the neuropathy they chose to ignore for years. I hope this reaches others who have had similar problems. Thanks for sharing.

@phebefriddle9133
@phebefriddle9133 5 лет назад
@@rockiemountin7535 There are some you tube videos that got me started looking into it. There are a few things that seem to help. Massage, flexing your feet and hands, and using a TENS unit to stimulate the nerves. The key is to keep the blood flow so that the nerves can be fed. And stimulating the nerves to get them working again. The latter was from a Chiropractor and seems to help some. You stretch your feet and hands until they burn and tingle. I have been told that you can improve the peripheral nerves significantly. I'm still working on it. It is getting better.

In 2017 I went to my GP for a yearly checkup and my A1C was 5.8. My doc wasn’t too concerned, said I should eat right and exercise. Because he was so nonchalant about it, I ignored it for almost a year. I started looking in to glucose and insulin after getting periodic hypoglycemic events. So I figured I’d better start eating right, and went to the official places that should have good advice, like the ADA, AHA, FDA, etc. I started planning a low fat, high carb diet. What pointed me to keto was looking at a table of foods by glycemic index. Foods I am told to eat, like oats and whole wheat breads, were as bad as pure sugar! What the hell? Fast forward 9 months on keto, A1C was 4.6, triglycerides 30% of what they were, HDL increasing, and I am 70 lbs lighter.

I don't need to get tested for pre-diabetes. Whether I need to or not, I'm just staying away from all processed foods, refined sugars and carbs, grains, and limiting my fruits to 1/2 cup berries occasionally. So I started researching, discovered intermittent fasting and started strict Keto. In 4 months I feel 80% better, losing weight and full of vim and vigor, lol I'm 65 and haven't seen a doctor in 12 years.
