I thought I would do a video to show how awesome these Classic Hymer Motorhomes really are.
We have owned this amazing old school Hymer for nearly 6 years and it has been like a home from home taking us all over the UK and Europe.
The Idea was to do a full walk around the outside too but the weather wasn't great on the day so I will definitely do that soon. I hope this gives all those interested in to stepping into the world of Classic Hymer Motorhomes an idea of what these amazing "Homes on Wheels" have to offer :)
Expect to see more videos about different Hymers and their owners very soon too!

Hi Jon, I’m trying to join your Facebook group, going to get Hymer for sure, I remember seeing them 40 years ago when we were on a BSA c15 in France… Unattainable then but not now. I much prefer the older ones. I think it’ll take a bit of finding. Chris Barley

Jon, absolutely brilliant video that provides a great awareness of the S660. I am off to view one like yours but an 1987 one tomorrow, so very excited. The dilemma I have is how much is the beast worth? If you have any advice as to what I should check for and what sort of price it would be worth I would be very grateful. Cheers, Mark

Hi very nice tour of your lovely home on wheels.Well looked after ,lovely condition. Where did you get that telescopic table leg used on the main table ? How is it working out, and is the table top movable , as in sideways . Love to get one for my Hymer 660 1989 Cheers

Love the introduction, the bits and bobs and the outtakes. Great video. Were the jump cuts intentional? You could edit the audio rather than the video & audio if you want to remove mistakes and ums & errs. One last word: Fiat ;-)

Beautiful old van, you've clearly looked after it well. How well insulated is it? Have you used it in snowy conditions? How reliable is the old Merc engine?

Hi, Its superbly insulated on the roof, sides and floor and Ive used the van down to -10. the Trumatic heater is a real beaut and keeps the van lovely and warm throughout. The 2.9 5 cylinder OM602 engines are renowned for giving you some serious untroubled and unlimited mileage if looked after well and I would highly recommend. Thanks for your kind comments :)

Hi. I also have a 1992 Merc Hymer s700. I’m having the engine overhauled at the moment. Looking for a Vacuum switch. Do you know anywhere we can get merc parts for these engines? I’m also looking for a radiator cowling, but the vacuum switch is priority

Jon great video tour.We own a classic Hymer s560 1993 bought early last year.Ours is obviously shorter and lighter than your model s660.Do you find the 2.9 merc diesel engine on your Hymer struggles on inclines and hills as ours does and I feel this a little frustrating holding up the vehicles behind me.Do you experience this and if so does it worry you i/e the cars etc behind getting peed off?Your thoughts please atb Michael

Hi Michael, Its the nature of the beast with the 2.9 engines and mine will be slower on the inclines as the 660 is 4.5 tonne and yours is 3.5. I generally find people are respectful of larger older vehicles like ours though. I take your point but in answer to your question no it doesn't worry me.
