I'm looking to visit here with the next year. I'm an American, and I want to visit different places I've never been. The whole continent of Africa is a beautiful place. Can't wait to see it.
Our elites should build quality social housing for our poor Yoruba people and go to Benin republic to bring back our children and parents living in fear on foreign soil. Enjoyed your show
Watching the town planning. The road layout in the last few seconds of your video is great. Here in Uk the layout is split into the following. Residents pathway to put waste bins awaiting collection,Walk pathway, bicycle pathway, then road. Enjoying your show.
As soon as you said ‘housing’ I was like I remember!!! My mom used to take us to WODEM it’s somewhere around that mosque, and I grew up in Mokola!! Dang, the memories
@@patootie I'm planning to relocate to Ibadan so I had to come on youtube to search for Bodija estate because I heard it's a nice place now I'm convinced by this video. Thank you
Wow , so many changes 😂. It’s so sad that my favorite places are no longer there . The grandex at oshuntokun used to be big treat supermarket , there was tantalizer’s opposite the foodco . At the favors junction, there used to be a mr Biggs opposite the seminary .
I grew up in Bodija in the 70/80s, and clearly the appeal is gone. There were no street trading and it was customary to see boys and girls strolling all over the place then. That roundabout in front of housing cooperation and Palm chemist was beautiful then and across from it were tennis courts. Thumbs up for your effort. I only started watching u 2 days ago it ‘s interesting.
I know. I went back there years ago and stayed in an extension of Davis Hotel to receive family and friends . I saw Hausa, Yoruba traders walking up and down on Awolowo Avenue with their wosiwosi. You dare not do that in the early 70s when Bodija Estate was Bodija Estate. Bodija was serene and life was good. People come out of universities and several offers are just waiting for you. Whether is it is BA or Pharmacy from Ife, B. Architecture from ABU or MBBS from UI, your bungalow and your car advance are there. Talking of Pharmacist, partying with Mr.Alegbeleye, a young pharmacist then and others like elegant auntie Mrs. Enahoro (Peter Enahoro's wife), Wale Amondi , Ayo Apeloko and his wife, Sista Olubu in old Bodija Estate are unforgettable events.
OMG.....they built a mosque over there now> Waoh, we used to play football there in the late 70s and 80s. And there was a beautiful lawn tennis court there too and a popular store called Palm chemist. Waoh, i miss home
The famous housing football field with the red sand....I played a lot of games there barefooted then...Palm Chemist is not far from the Police Station....what a memory....thanks Patootie Sparkles for sharing this...
My God UNBELIEVABLE to see my old neighbourhood where l grew up with the famous actress Sola Sobowale on the Oyesina/Adeyi Avenue, the lsholas ( permanent secretary for education), egbedeyis (water co operation), Adiguns( commissioner for works and housing), lawyer Abiodun, the famous singer/actor Tunji Oyelana & the benders, the late former governor of Oyo state the lges, the Elewes, etc...Thanks a million for making it possible for me to view my youth days area from far away home in Europe. You really deserve a treat to some good dinner. I am so happy to see this area with new offshoot places of clubbing & things you mentioned that are new in my hearing. Years have gone by, oh my God. But thank God for the life given to still see this. Memories, memories, memories and flashbacks in our long gone neighbourhood Bamboo corner club around Osuntokun Avenue. How many happenings should l detail.....TOOOOOO MUCH .....Thx a million for this. God bless and please keep up that blogging. It's awesome watching home from far away. I will defo. be back someday to view it life by God's grace. Amen. Paging on Facebook too, pls do share if you wish to. Nice one indeed.
Bodija Estate of the early 70s is unforgettable memory. Happy hours at Davis Hotel and partying with the business mogul Amuda Obelawo Lawal of Ejigbo at University Guest House( I believe it was owned by late Dr. Aluko). It will be a pleasure for us to go back there and see what has become of our favorite watering holes like you suggested.
@@saheedaileru6850 Yes. A very pleasant man and very wealthy even then. Everywhere he is, whether it is his house in Ring Road area then under construction or his factory in Lagos, I follow him everywhere lol. Like we are relatives. .
@@saheedaileru6850 I understand. Igba kan o lo bi orere. If it is not dementia, it will be memory loss as we get older. He lived a good, fulfilling life. No regrets.
How come you sabi all those nicest places of thei Bodija, tell me its like knowing it from seeing ones back of hand? lol ija Holiness , onl God knows the last time I went to Old Bodija!
Omo Iye eni, Ibadan has changed so much I don't even recognize it anymore😂😂😂They keep extending the Name "Bodija" to new Areas. It has become too huge to handle. Everyone now wants to live in BODIJA😂😂😂 The only place I recognized was the Housing area & that Roundabout in the Old Bodija area😏
You didn’t show the All Souls Church at Bodija and the Bodija International Primary & Secondary School. These have been there for years as I grew up at Bodija. Bodija is run down now. All commercialised. Not pretty anymore.
I don't understand Nigerians, old Bodija road still remains as one way drive. You people should stop calling estate in Nigeria calling estate estate always make me laugh at you people estate that look like a village
