(Dec. 20, 2012) I had some time to kill at KDEN due to a delayed flight, so I decided to film a short video tour of the airport's Main Terminal and B Terminal. Wikipedia ranks KDEN as the 14th busiest airport in the world and the 5th busiest in the U.S., behind Atlanta, O'Hare, LAX and Dalles. This is one of my favorite airports: I like the architecture, and you also have a view of the Rockies in the background. Unfortunately there aren't that many heavies here, although British Airways does fly from London and Lufthansa operates a 747 to/from Frankfurt. United will commence 787 service from Denver to Tokyo on March 31, 2013, which gives DIA its first airport route.

Story Time: when the horse sculpture out side the Denver airport was being built, one windy night the head broke off hitting and killing it's original sculptor. when the shipment of bulbs arrived meant for the horses eyes, they were meant to be colored white. once the eyes had been put in, they realized that the shipment got messed up, and they got red bulbs instead. the killer-horses eyes still glow red to this day.

DIA is my home airport but I've only been on Concourse B once. All the other times, I've been on Concourse A (Frontier and American) and Concourse C (Southwest).

I LOVE Denver International Airport because a. I live not so far away from it and b. It is a hub for my most Favorite airline: United!

I only visited the main terminal and (if I remember correctly) the B terminals, since I was flying United. If you can point me to where the murals are I'll be sure to check them out when I next visit.

Yes securaty is very busy I live in Colorado and was flying to st louis and was suprised because it was nothing compared to denver

KBurchfiel You seem to travel a lot! I really like this video since I will be in both terminals in March. In a weird way this helps me know what I'm going to be up against. I just hope it won't be as crowded as it is in the video.

I stopped there once before but my connecting flight was in the same terminal. Si I don't know what to expect.

The 857 is also considered a heavy so you should say they're not many wide bodies. Because here's a lot of 757's there.

I'm curious. Is it good or bad to be stuck in this airport for two hours? I've only been to DIA twice but was on such a short connection flight that I never had a chance to even look around. I was a bit impressed by the design. It was fast and easy to make connecting flights and it looked like there were plenty of good kiosks and services. One day, I'll have to book a late flight just to check the place out.

Not bad at all. There are lots of shops, and plenty of moving walkways (not to mention the train system) to help you get from place to place.

I'm sure it isn't bad to be stuck there for TWO hours, but I was stuck there for SEVEN hours once. Not a fun experience as the terminal we were in had very few shops and restaurants.

The terminals are all connected by train though, so you should be able to get to any shop you want (unless it was after hours).

My only complaint about Denver, is if you compare the amount of shopping & food options on the concourses to Atlanta-Hartsfield, Charlotte Douglas or Minneapolis. D.I.A. Has very little. Considering this is a Hub for United & Frontier you would think there would be a little more on the concourses. Other than that I Think Denver has one of the sharpest looking airports in the country plus it has room to grow.

Yes, I think you make a fair point. I have video tours of those three airports too and you probably do see more food outlets per gate at those airports than you do at DEN. Minneapolis especially impressed me, not only with the number of its restaurants but also with the quality of their design. But there are some respectable outlets right in the middle of United's terminal and I think those are sufficient for connecting passengers.

I haven't visited Terminal A or C yet but I certainly plan to once I get the chance to re-visit Denver. Still one of my favorite airports! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Denver's airport sucks. Constant flight delays, and it's clear out in the middle of nowhere.

KBurchfiel But it's true! Downtown Denver's like 30-45 minutes away, you have to take a bus, taxi to get to where you want to go, and the area surrounding the airport is really dull and flat, and is just mainly farmland. It's like you're out in the country.

Well, in DEN's defense, there are lots of airports that wish they could expand but are unable to due to all the development nearby. I think DEN's planners were smart to buy up lots of land so that they could expand without as much trouble.
