Keen gardener here! You need to take the oak sap out of your acer pot. Oaks needs space to root properly or it may either die or kill the acer while establishing itself. I've had huge issues this year with both oak saps and dogwood growing in my lavender bushes. If you want to keep it, get a big separate pot for the oak. Be careful as they can be sensitive if you prune back their roots, but it's so young that it should be easy enough to transfer it. If you wanted a fun project, you could even attempt to bonsai it over time, it would make a super impressive potted balcony plant!
