Phantom Canyon Road is not an off-road trail by most standards. It's more of a road that you drive down, but your car may get dirty. That being said, it is steeped in Colorado history of Railroading, Mining, Ghost Towns and even Ghosts!
We ook the Jeep Gladiator, The Riven R1T and the Bronco 6g down this trail and it was amazing to do.

This is a pretty cool approach. Also like that you had a variety of rigs, though we didn't get to see much of them. Good luck with future similar productions!

Thank you. And I agree. One of the learning experiences we had on this trip was that we had planned 3 trails on top of a 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back so we found that we had less time for stopping, drone footage, etc. We’re going to be less ambitious in the future s0 we can stop and smell the roses more… Thank you for the feedback!

I think it adds so much to a trail when you know something about it and can explore..

At 5:51 is my favorite spot to camp. Off to the right and down a little bit to the river. Blue Gulch is the tributary. Realy nice little open space.

@@HiCenteredOffRoadtheres a good bit of sites out there to camp at, if its not free camping its only like $14 a night. Ive been down it a handful of times myself but never camped there so im not up to date on the fees. It may also be a first come first served type of reservation system iirc

Yeah, we really enjoyed this trek. I’m working on a Shelf Road videos now. Then we’ll do the Bank.

The reason they left the bridge there is because they try to tear it out and there are photographs with two locomotives and thick cables trying to destroy it. They gave up and left it there.. I used to live in Florence and drove up there a couple times with my step kids for a picnic

Interesting approach! There was some history that you shared that I didn’t know. Some other ghost stories I’ve heard is that at night you can hear a girl scream, and that some people have claimed to have seen her. A young girl in a white dress who stands in the road. Also I’ve personally seen a train light while traveling at night from Victor to Canon. It was there for a second then disappeared, it was crazy!! Since we live in Canon, we’ve heard all sorts of stories. Some are probably truer than others but even so it’s a fun drive with a lot of history!! Shelf road is our favorite and we tend to take it to cripple creek more often, and the banks is fun!! Has its challenging spots but definitely worth the experience! If you’re in the area again and enjoy hiking as well, I suggest going to Temple Canyon and making the hike to the Indian Temple!! It’s super fun and also very interesting with lots of history !!

I’m working on a Shelf Road video right now! The Bank is next. Less history and more off-road in that one. Thanks for your feedback. Obviously we are a small channel right now so a subscribe and a like helps a bunch. And tell your friends to as well.

Cool to see things about Colorado, but a lot of the history wrong. Litte more research on the subject could have been better.

Had to stop this video when you said it takes 2 hours. This road takes, at most, an hour.

True, it probably takes someone who is driving straight through at the speed limit less time. If you are there to see the sights, stopping to see the remains of ghost towns and exploring it can take two hours or more. That’s more who this video is for…

The road is ~30miles. If you drive it in one hour, you are dangerous and not wanted on that road anyway. Good call leaving. This is a fun and great video! Just drove it yesterday, 68 degrees in Cañon City, Victor was 40 degrees with several feet of snow melt. No 2-wheel car making it up the switchback into Victor because of road snow, water and mud.. The cliff-side road north of the red bridge super narrow. Pray nobody coming from north to south in that stretch and meets you head-on. No passing pockets.
