I think the writer wants to do black superhero looks good in this show for some "message" just like add sister sage for the show, I don't think he will die...yet.
Well there's leaks before the show even started and slowly all of them are coming true.... It is leaked that in the last episode... He will ask Ashley to come and leave vought and the seven but for some reason Ashley doesn't want to and only A-train leaves.... He also saves Starlight from the Deep because Deep is winning against Starlight
Tbh a-train behavior feels like he is going to start saving people by himself, the feeling of doing something new and getting joy when everything look bad its the medicine he need for the sickness he has get from all the bad things he did, a true redemption arc

But technically no one saw him save Hughie, and boy, he didnt even smile. But saving MM, that not only made him smile but someone actually saw him do it
He had a debt with Hughie. With MM? Nothing. He did it because he felt like it was the right thing to do. And that is why this is the first real save he ever did. Just doing the right thing

The most realistic character in the series, if you had powers, would you be a hero? A villain? neither, a dumb debate, you would be lazy, a hypocrite and apathetic, but how long can it take before you feel the need to do something?
@@Kaido20 To me His brother had no one to blame but himself if he came with A-train to come up with a agreement with Vought to keep Bluehawk grounded maybe Some of the stuff that happen could've been avoided as you need to take some fault on your part than put full blame on others
I'm all for the second ending. For a bleak series like this, having a hopeful ending would be wonderful, it helps to remind people that for all the evil and bad that is in the world, there ought to be some good to go along with it.
I know as much as The Boys love to kill off people getting their redemption arcs. but I hope to honest god that Reggie makes it to the very end, a hero in the universe who managed to overcome his obsessive want for fame and fortune. and becoming a hero to save lives, no matter how tedious others may see it. HE IS A HERO. FUCKKK !!
I actually would love it if A train survives this season and actually does become like a full on real hero in season 5. Like he leaves vought. Cuts out all the promotions and interviews and just focuses on saving peoples. And he would actually become like a legend amongst everybody. He would be the opposite of homelander. Both want to change the world. One does it through might and arrogance While the other does it through kindness and self happiness.
All the truly heroic things he's done have been small, quiet, with no fanfare and pomp. Completely the opposite of whatever goofy shit Vought had him do. And the best part is that you can tell he hated the staged stunts, and that smile he gave back to the kid was the first genuine smile I think he's given in a long, long time. A small moment of genuine kindness

A Train is interesting because he's a conflicted guy, in one hand he came from poverty and was overwhelmed with the fame, with the life of being a celebrity, but on the other hand he has a moral obligation because that's how he was brought up with the help of his brother
This is the exact type of edit I wanted to see when I first saw this scene. Up until now I didn't care for A-train. I didn't even mind if people's theory that he would die to homelander came true, but this scene definitely made me do a 180 and I absolutely respect this character now.
What is a hero ? Someone who fights for justice and order ? Someone who puts his knee down to comfort someone ? Someone whom defeats the villian and kills him or is a hero someone who saves everyone no matter who or what kind of person he is ?
It's weird how in the first Seven meeting in S1, Homelander was like, how many crimes did you stop, how many did you save... yada yada (can't remember the actual dialogue) in front of Starlight (as if it's something they regularly do). And now in S4, A-Train appears to have NEVER saved anyone until this scene.
iirc in the same episode (or maybe next) they also showed they had to schedule their "crime fighting scene" so homelander most likely was just asking "how many shows you got this week" while playing pretend as superhero
@@XaliberDeathlock tbh, we do see Maeve and Homelander actually save (or try to save) people. Remember that airplane scene? It was one of their actual rescue mission, and not even like their first rescue mission. They seem to be doing this for awhile. So, either A-Train does have some minor saves he didn't feel like mentioning or he specifically doesn't give a sht about real save. I mean, the only reason he's in Seven is because he's the fastest and Vought won't hesitate to replace him if someone else turned out faster (as hinted on a previous season). So, maybe he specifically does not require any criteria other than speed, so he didn't care either. It's still weird to see he had no save, not even before joining Seven.
my boy survived this season, i hope he will stay after the end of the show and will continue save people, not as A-Train, but as Reggie Franklin, be the hero he supposed to be.
For everyone thinking Hughie is his first save No he is not. Saving Hughie is more like debt paid. MMs save is his first real save that made him felt being a hero for first time.
People saying it’s lazy to make a character who was hated into someone loved and then killing them is lazy . It can be but when done right it’s a skillful execution of one’s writing ability . The fact that he made end up having to give his life for the sake of Hughie or a friend from the boys will be the perfect full circle moment after being fed up from being evil and killing innocents like Huggies gf . It would make the most sense especially given how unhinged homelander is rn n Atrains been a round since the start so .
If A-Train lives and becomes a full on hero, he will have one of the best redemption arcs in history. Going from the supe that started the whole inciting incident to becoming a true hero
Man the line "nothing here to care about" hits so hard with A-train saying he doesn't want to care cause it just gets you killed. Its such a nice reflection of his cynical attitude melting against the realization that he does care.
I HAD to search this up after seeing the episode. One of the most powerful scenes from the show imo and the way it was done in utter silence, beautiful. Obviously, it’s like a 50/50 now on whether A-Train dies now but the show has a real chance of making A-Train the most likeable character.
Id like to see him have a redemption arc where he goes on the run from vaught and goes to some of the poorest places on earth. He learns empathy and becomes a true hero intent on making up for his mistakes
I think we all pretty much know A-Train going to die this season. The question is how? I predict Homelander will try to laser Hughie and in the very last millisecond, A-Train will push him out of the way, taking the hit and sacrificing himself in the process. That would be his most redeemable save.
I really want him to do some Quicksilver moves against Homelander. Like Quicksilver did against Apocalypse or saving people while listening to Sweet Dreams. That would be freakin epic and finally for first time he would be considered as actual badass hero.
alot of people hated him the first few seasons because he was pretty evil, but i always liked him because i knew that alot of that hate in him came from his addiction to V. glad to see one of my favorite charachters get a second chance (even though its sad most of us know he probably gonna die soon)
The A-train redemption arc is fr one of the most peak, heartwarming, fire stuff ive ever seen seeing a kid light up with joy seeing a hero save somebody is some starman stuff right there normalize being a good person fr
He's more than likely going to die, especially after they let Maeve live. Showrunners can't pull that again or it looks cheap, but if he does go out, I hope they do it while he is saving someone. At least he's finally doing something right
I guess it's complicated. On one hand it's a "satisfying" redemption arc, he absolves his sins by sacrificing himself, on the other hand it's overdone to death. On a side note it would be kill the black guy which is also an overdone trope that would be ridiculed. Same as with Maeve: they wanted to avoid the "kill the minority trope", they did it but it wasn't very gracious... I guess they need to come up with something smarter now. An idea would be like: he survives the ordeal, he has an opportunity to escape repercussions, and then he just decides to not do it and face his responsibilities like going on trial or something, cue cheesy line: "I'm done running away from my responsibilities"
@@here_be_dragons9184 I'm not saying to sacrifice him, but I doubt there won't be a big character death this season. Also, when things are looking up for a character, usually means they are dead soon. While a trial and facing consequences could work, he'd probably just die there too since he might reveal too much. Plus they would've started hyping up a trial by now in the show
I never really cared for A-Train that much, but he started to grow on me in season 3. He's finally starting to turn himself around, but I'm just more terrified for him now
I can't believe i went from hating this guy wanting him to die to routing for him and being super anxious about him dying. They did so good with his character development. Besides the whole popclaw thing he's the most normal person in the Seven
Even though he’s not really in it, if you watch Gen-V you get to understand A-Trains character a lot better a the pressure he was always under to be the best speedster but not exactly the best hero.
