Also because probably that was the First time anyone has seen him saving a real person, not something staged by vought. And that kid letting out that genuine smile, again not being a paid actor, Made him happy
@edmundarnold2880 I agree. He needs a Solo hero drama. But, I can feel they're setting him up with good stuff before the bad stuff. Beautiful scene with the inspired kid but, this feels like a set up.
@@jeanmatos5601 granted he got talked into it. but he got a legitimate reaction from a kid to something that wasn't a scripted save like the ones his brother pointed out to a-train's nephews
When you think about it, a train is literally the strongest speedster shown in live action. (Just Speedsters. Like flash or quicksilver, not characters like superman or black Adam)
@@BustaDG compared to original comics A-train this one is a good guy. though that happened through him changing. the other one in the comics deserved his death.
I mean he did crush her head against a wall before that. I was laughing when she picked the "easy to kill" to kill book and he said "Try it bitch" bro would've run through her
@@tanishkchaudhary What is so insulting is they tragically killed off hughies dad in the last episode along with a heartbreaking reference to the comics, and now they're just forcing their creepy SA fetishes on hughie for laughs. no one's laughing.
@@Inevitable934 Also the fact that only two more episodes are left for the season to end, and there has barely been any plot progression in this episode. I hope the next two episodes cover up for this one
A-train (almost) smiling as he realizes that, for the first time in his life, someone is looking up to him as a hero, not because of Vought's media manipulation, but because he's really acting like a hero really warmed my heart.
I think he still did genuine saves in his Vought career, but they were still heavily staged managed "low hanging fruit" rescues (where here the stakes were much higher with Homelander lurking around).
@@Tealthrone712 pretty sure she already knows: "that footage didn't just _run_ itself out of crime analytics". She may also have her own plan, partly conflicting with Homelander's and involving A-Train in some way.
@@urban_video5949I didn't tear up but was made so happy that I immediately thought this is the best scene in the whole damn show since it started.Such a quiet yet hopeful and powerful scene👌
I love how A Train, who still feels like a villain, read Kamiko holding up "easy to kill" as a threat. She way saying "it's easy to kill/let someone die, you want to be better. You're better."
@@FrankTheGrizzlyBear I’m aware of that, but the coincidence that she happened to find books with the exact phrases she needed in mere seconds. Normally I ignore plot devices in shows or films to enjoy it rather than be picky, but holy shit this is the first time I actually got bothered at something haha.
It's too bad Kimiko wasn't a fan of the classic American novel, "Mother's Milk Had A Heart Attack So A-Train Took Him To The Hospital", by JD Salinger. I first read it in 11th grade and it changed my life.
I’m sure in his early days before joining the seven or getting involved with vought he did a lot of saving, it’s just been years since he’s actually saved someone and had someone look at him as an actual hero without it being staged
@@chrisbowers2450 Saving people and seeing their expressions afterwards is rewarding and addictive... he'll want more of the authentic heroic stuff. Who wouldn't?
So far we predicted Kessler being an aberration in Butchers head, who wants to take a wild gander that A-Train is going to certainly die during his hero redemption arc?
Obviously. But I love his character and I hope they don’t just kill him for shock value. Make his death when it comes a worthy one and let him work to redeem himself.
@@daboos6353 Stop. Leaking. The. Show. In. Comments. People are discussing things and making theories, and people like you are ruining it. Would you go into a movie theater, overhear someone saying, "Gee I wonder if Iron Man dies in this movie, that'd be crazy" and you walk over, to say "Yes I've already seen the movie, he does."
1:22, They didn’t even need any music or words to sell this scene, just expressions, the ambient sounds of the city and the context of what kind of person A-Train had been before this scene. People say this series can be way too cynical, but the contrast of all the insanity and brutality with these brief scenes of people trying to be and do better despite their massive flaws and the external obstacles the world throws at them that give the series merit.
This scene alone pushed A Train to my top 5 favorite characters in the show. I'm not ashamed to admit I was still the the cynical camp of A Train is gonna end up "betraying" the Boys and be the same Supe he was in s1. The glimmer of hope and feeling of actually being a Hero for A Train has made me do a complete 180° on how I felt on him
He got to feel what it's like to be an actual hero and realizes what's been missing. I feel like everyone is going to team up on Homelander by the end. Without him and the people he deliberately hires to stack the 7 with wicked people, the heroes can actually be decent people and have the fame and integrity they actually desire.
That's a hope I have myself. In spite of all his power and strength, Homelander is only 1 Supe. Once all the other Supes and Humans he's terrorized realizes they outnumber him, he's gonna be screwed.
So far the show has been good at following certain plot threads while doing it's own thing. So far the major events (Homelander having a copy (Ryan) the plane debacle and The Boys giving themselves powers have been added in its own way. So, if we're both right. Season 5 is just going to be one big comic book battle. And hopefully it's glorious. Superhero Civil War is coming.
@goroakechi6126 honestly? Seeing what's happened to the deep throughout his life (seeing and hearing the torment of basically all the aquatic life mankind has touched) I'd say he's gotta be one of the most traumatized characters in the show (say what you will about the attempted SA, but Hurt people Hurt) And he clearly prefers the company of aquatic life compared to humans as well, I wouldn't be surprised if the end of his character arc is him just..leaving and spending his time in the ocean instead of on land.
This is so racist, you better give a 100 million to black lives matter😂. Then again, they always be thinking someone owes them something low key felt it when teknight reacted to them doing that
I know it's pretty obvious he'll die at this point, but I'm kinda hoping he doesn't. It'd be nice to have a superhero in this universe that's actually heroic besides Starlight.
I like to think by season 5, Homelander will be the only evil supe. Everyone else might have a change of heart and actually do heroic things. I think even The Deep could be “redeemed”.
@@stormtraitor6545"violence is power" sounds genuine, I think he's the opposite of A-Train. Both started bad, made as joke, one is going through redemption and one is probably going more evil than before.
Honestly killing him off so soon would just perpetuate that the idea that the world can’t be fixed, having him survive as a hero, at least until Homelander is seriously injured, would prove that there’s a glimmer of genuine hope in this fucked up universe
I love his redemption arc so much He starts as the character your probably meant to hate the most besides homelander because we see how he killed Robin right in front of us and Hughie and the damage it caused and how little they cared. Over time he turns into a more sympathetic, caring character and actively helping the boys.
You’d think A-Train would’ve completely ignored Kimiko’s pleas for him to take MM to a hospital since she did break his leg before. But nope. A-Train actually listened to her and did it anyway. Never thought seeing A-Train becoming an actual hero would be so satisfying to watch.
@@Jancker8 Flickering lights to "intimidate" people don't do shit, plus It takes a whole month to charge up and shoot and anyone can just close their eyes
@@TheeUnkillableCatShe saved a person from being violated and saving Hughie and the rest of the boys in season 1. Unfortunately, on screen she mostly focuses on how to take down Voight.
I love how half the comments are: "Look at that, he's finally understanding what being a hero is all about" and the other half is: "Aw man, he's cooked"
A-train being acknowledged by the little fan boy and them smiling at eachover was so wholesome and sweet finally doing some good being a real hero, He will live they gave queen maeve and noir a second chance he's getting so much positive attention it would be a disappointment to kill him.🙏🏾👏🏾
The writing and acting in the scene where A-Train finally feels what it means to be a true hero and a force for good, after seeing a kid see him as one, couldn’t have been done better
I love the redemption arc he has going on. I'm not comic reader but I hope he either has a great heroic moment standing up to Homelander or defects entirely and still has a heroic death. I don't see the show having A-Train making it out alive.
Reading the comic won't change a thing really, due to how different A-Train is to his comic counterpart. He wasn't redeemable. Unlike in the show where Hughie buries the hatchet with A-train, comic Hughie buried A-train instead.
Ngl I cried a bit at the part with the boy, idk why. I think it’s cause a train was able to finally be a real hero to a kid without having to lie about it. You can tell it’s something he always wanted to do but couldn’t because of his spot on the seven
@@hitagisenjougahara3515 shockwave wasn’t fighting her he was just standing there😂 it’s been established that in combat neuman has to see u to make her eye powers work and even then it takes a second. A train moves faster than she can she and can give her the blue hawk treatment
A-Train has quickly gone from one of my most hated characters of all time to one of my favorite. What a character development arc he has gone through and the actor is superb.
I’m so happy to see how far A-train’s come since the start of the show, you’d kinda assume that he was supposed to be some sort of big bad considering his connection with Hughie, but really all of that’s in the past now and it’s really given A-train the opportunity to really make up for what he’s done and become a true superhero. Just that small scene of that kid looking over at A-train and him smiling like that is some of the most wholesome subtle character writing that this show has had so far and I’m so happy to see where it’ll go from here.
We know that in this season a-train had its redemption but perhaps many will already have that assumption that it will perhaps be the last season in which our a-train will run
Its corny, and i know the show is supposed to make fun of this, but it feels so fucking good to see a superhero doing good in this show. It's not like seeing Batman or Superman saving someone.. This is different because from the very first episode, we've learned these aren't good people
