What an incredible experience! Next year, I planned Norway but Iceland will be close in tbe list... Congratulations for the video. You are top in RU-vid
Nice video. It was nice to see how fond you were of l celand even though it looked like you got shitty weather for most of your time there. I rode 15.000 kilometers all over Iceland last summer and it was sunny most of the time, but it wasn't hot 😊
@@BrakeMagazine Haha, everyone who have hold a camera or fly a drone appreciate the time it takes to put something like this together... Amazing... just really amazing! Thank you
Thanks for the show! I really enjoyed it! My father spent some time there back in the 1950s. The stick and map thing... It's something I learned in the military. Fingers are so big, they cover key terrain. Sticks or pointy blades of grass are much more efficient at letting people know where you are going and what they can expect to see along the way. Cheers!
Nicely shot and edited Llel, well done. You really bring out the harshness and beauty of the environment.....................................and the need for waterproof gear :)
Really, really, really good video LP. Great production values, but also cleverly edited to capture the highlights. There must have been so much footage to curate. I’d love to watch an hour long feature. Long way round, eat your heart out!
This went straight to the top of my bucket list. Some of those drone shots made me somewhat emotional.. Such tantilizing beauty in nature is just so impressive!
WOW that looks just amazing. I have been there before but only a short trip in a 4x4 which is nothing like biking. I have ridden most of the world on my bikes and am due to do a 2000 mile trip around Iceland in Aug. Watching your clip makes me just want to pack every camera going right now and get going. I just cannot wait to get there now. Thanks for a great clip
Great footage, fantastic! Have already booked the freight for my bike Uk-Iceland-Uk for this July. Can’t wait! As you say in the clip, cold and river crossings, so I will be preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. Wish me luck!
July is a good time, just make sure you check road conditions and weather before you go into the Highlands. Have fun! www.road.is/travel-info/road-conditions-and-weather/
@@BrakeMagazine thank you. I did have a great ride, it was spectacular! Produced 3 episodes with stunning scenery. Here’s the 2nd episode (my favourite) inspired by your video so thank you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vlqusdDzP1M.html
Not a fan of the check list hipster narration but everything else I loved!!! Thank you for the HIGH quality film. Don't let my slightly negative comment stop you from sharing and making more of this type of vids. Iceland is like nowhere else, so amazing..
Watching this experience through the eyes of Brake Magazine always makes for an interesting moment in time. Under the leadership of the man with maps and sticks it was always going to be a successful tour. So eloquently narrated, starring the riders themselves tackling the variable & sublime landscape. Chris from www.Explore360.nu is a master of creating unforgettable memories. Thank you for allowing us who have not travelled Iceland, to over indulge in the mystical secrets which are hidden away amoungst the lava fields.
Wow! That's a great video. Your travel course is fantastic. The scene of the waterfall seems like heaven. It's so beautiful when the bike crosses the water. It's nice to see you driving on a wide unpaved road. I'm glad to be a friend of your great channel. 👍🤝🤝🤝🤙🤙👌
Brake Magazine you are more than welcome. I always wondered whether it was possible to ride out there and now I know. Would you say it was practical for some one to organise their own ride and do it by themselves?
That's a dream for me! Im assuming the Klim gear did well in the wet and cold? Any heated gear? My Klim Carlsbad suit is about 4 years old now and does great in Colombia, Puerto Rico tropical rain. Krios helmet with the pin lock does well in the rain too.
The kit was great. I didn't wear anything heated, but I did wear a wind breaker underneath to break it up, and on the really cold days and extra puffer jacket 😂 Krios was super comfy too but my visor leaked 🤔
I've been itching to go back to Iceland since I got a couple day's taste on a layover to Denmark a few years ago....now it's a burning two-wheeled fire in my belly. Go away Covid!
Watched this from a link on advrider, fantastic video and I truly enjoyed the mix of footage. A question about the aerial footage if you don't mind answering - what drone did you use? Looks like it might be the Mavic Mini? I've been trying to capture footage like you did for a few years when riding and judging from what you did...I have a ways to go...lol. Wondered if you used active track or just flew manually? Iceland looks like a wonderful place to explore and ride; fire and ice for sure. Appreciate the time it takes to craft something like that, I know what goes into it.
Happy to answer! We use a DJI Mavic Air, just because of the size. If you have more room the Mavic 2 is better but with all the camera gear we don't. I shoot the video manually. Its the only way to get those kind of shots, however there is a drone that has amazing tracking compared to the DJI. Thanks for the kind words!
Overlanded there from N. Ireland 15 years ago on a DRZ. Submerged er in 6ft of water crossing a river. Nearly drowned. The currents pull you down if the crossing is wide. Got er out , pumped the water out , and cleaned the silt out of the carb every hour. Harsh country .
That's a great question. Sadly the downside of Iceland is that it's expensive. I think if you're looking for rental and a guide it could anywhere from £3000 to £5500.
Nice video but Icelandic is a Germanic language not a Slavic one so I'm pretty stumped by their transliteration of „Reykjavík“ as „Reykjavíc“ that sounds more like a Croatian city than an Icelandic one.
Lell is a bit of a drama queen ;) It wasn't that cold (me living in Sweden). One day like -2 °C early morning. And some snow, but that was on 1100 m. But you don't go to Iceland for the weather :)
Explore360 Motorcycle Adventures: ok, so I’d be using the vents on my Klim badlands pro if I added a fleece mid-layer. :) -10C:/-15C I might bump the mid layer up to a 650 down fill.
xeeded how cold affects someone is very personal and individual. My wife wears a dune jacket under her Artemis with 20 °C. You should prevent cooling down your core, because you then loose focus and start Making mistakes. When that is, is something you decide.. It was pretty cold that tour to be honest 😎
I suspect, sadly, this is in the "I don't have enough experience yet", and "wow, how much?" (Wondering how to get that kind of spend past the "one who controls finances ....")
You need some gravel riding experience, but not needed to be an expert The only tricks can be the rivers, but there we help each other to make it save to the other side :)
