This game is one of those games that’s better watched than played. It’s be so frustrating to spend hours growing up only to get a drink and lose it all. No risk no reward tho. Thank you for your amazing vids.

Excellent video. Herrera is honestly one of the best dinosaurs to play as right now, due to its sheer mobility. The vertical rock climbing and extreme reduced fall damage are awesome. A lot of players I see don’t realize that you get exponentially further jump pounce range if you’re latched onto a vertical surface as opposed to standing on a branch or high spot. I’ve also been told (but don’t know for sure) that only other Herrera can see your bioluminescent dewlap.

My go to diet for the Herrera is 3 x *\\* diets. 25% better Night Vision and scent. They're not fighters. They're run away and climb. But in a tree at night _(Or even daytime for the present game as it's so damn dark!),_ having great Night Vision is a must. Though having 2 x *\\* and 1 x *Dots* is my next best diet as the dots help with stamina. Though another 10%'s not really that great. And as they're small, a 15% growth with all *\\* diet helps, but it's not that important because they'll be grown to full adult soon enough. Though the one thing I hate is how quickly food and water drains from these little creatures. No sooner have you filled up, and you're down to 80% having rested in a tree for a little more stamina.

2 different species eating the same corpse isn't mix packing. Things like this happen still today. It could be argued that mixing predators for a hunt happens as well, but i definitely understand why the second one shouldn't happen. As you have said before, this breaks game balance in a variety of ways.

This creature alone helps me visualize just how theropods became birds. You have this critter that can climb trees real well because of it's size and shape and claws. It ambushes things from above. Wouldn't it be _super helpful_ to be able to jump good from tree to tree? That success between jumping from tree to tree would turn into _gliding_ from tree to tree. Eventually one of the descendants wouldn't even need trees to climb first as gliding became true flight.

the little raptor feeding on the bod with you isn't mix packing. That's scavenging. It's too small to be competition. Now if he were bigger then yea it's mix packing. Predators don't allow competition near their food. Deinos do because they're cannibals.

When you joined that group and there were 4 dinos around the pond, that was awesome. Everything looks so empty of other players, and yet, there are dinosaurs all over the place, just unseen, as it should be.

There really needs to be some sort of in-game mechanic that prevents carnivores from mixpacking that can be toggled on and off for servers, moderation isn't enough to stop it. Maybe a stress mechanic that gives debuffs to stamina and attack power when carnivores are friendly to other carnivores not of their species for too long.

Funny how you say the Herrera has a similar play style to the Ptera, the ancestors of pterosaurs likely had a lifestyle similar to that of the Herrera of being small arboreal predators. They weren't dinosaurs of course, but they were very similar.

the fucking scavenger bird ai is so obnoxious. They show up way too quick. They're way too hard to hit. They're WAY too damn persistent, like why don't they go for the food and leave ME, a 350lb adult herrera, the fuck alone when i'm in a tree 20 meters away.

fun fact: if you press f+left click you can activate the dewlap that glows yellow for males, and i think orange or green for females, and only the herras can use/see them

Although you never know if people mean what they say. I hope the devs of this game stary true to what hey are saying abt they not wanting it to be ''yet another survival sandbox game'', or ''yet another dinosaur game''. The freedom of movement looks promising, it looks pretty good to (especially when we know it's a small team). Comparing it to...say Palworld for example, being a small team i mean. It at least doesn't look too cartoon-ish, but actual graphics. I have seen way worse early access (we all have). I hope ppl that want to play this get a good experience.

@3:35 That's an adult herrera, not a raptor. :T I like that herrera can eat while latched, but think it's messed up they took that feature away from ptera. You might like Petit Pieds server though. No carnivore mixpacking.

I believe that whilst the concept is fiction, the devs are trying to be as accurate as possible to creating an ecosystem somewhat realistic to what you would have seen on Walking with Dinosaurs and the latter And naturally predators do not kill everything on sight nor attack on sight either Species work together, species tolerate eachother, etc in a real ecosystem so I like to think it's not mix packing it's just not "your time" A herbivore and a carnivore is definitely mix packing but symbiotic relationships are very prevalent in all of nature

Owl,i think herra is actually tolerant and would let anything scavenge if it is weaker or smaller than it,so scavenging is not mixpacking😅😅.

I just really want a dinosaur DLC for DayZ now. I know there's mods and all that, but i bet the servers are probably whitelisted...

I don't know why it bothers me so much because I know it's only a game, but grass did not even exist for most of the time of dinosaurs.

well if i ever had a dino to wake up as in a new life if humanity fell but we returned dinos to the world. i would take a herrera over most because they clearly have enough coop but still to their own life that being one proably would be ok. also enjoy my sub
