When you use sent those foot track symbols is where you need to go those are migration zones and that's where you'll find all your food I got a stego play through and it's been really fun

I dislike the new stam system because this map is huge and migration is a thing, so we need more stam to traverse but also regen less. It should be adjusted a bit because of the map size.(There should also be more people allowed in officials because of said map size)

My problem with the stam is that seems to punish Pteranodons quite a bit, you're basically safe all the time as long as you land in specific spots so playing Pteranodon ends up being afk in 5-10 min stints before being able to enjoy the map again. I don't know if pteras were migratory or flew long distances, but I guess I understand that from a game pov they should be on the ground more often to not be as pesky.

Welcome to gateway owl...feels so good to have new secrets to uncover. map feels organic...I think one aspect I like about gateway is it doesn’t feel like everyone’s bunched up in center of the map. Maybe we’ll unknowingly cross paths if you’re ever on the NA servers...cheers!

You know how Isle Legacy had more Carnivore players compared to Herbivore Playere ? i think the Diet, Stamina and ai spawn changes have been made to balance it out, so people play more as herbivore as well

The reason you're finding little to no food is because you're out of the migration zone. Surviving outside of it is definitely a challenge. Less carnivores but also less food. I also enjoy the slow stamina regen. Makes you think twice about sprinting everywhere or what situations you engage in.

ah you have the same issue I had with not being able to buck raptors off. you have to delete your config BUT if you do that you might have to constantly reset your controls if you changed them.

Man the new map is *brutal.* I remember playing as a nested troodon, and from only breaking my leg, I died of thirst. I guess it’s just a game of luck and skill lol. Also, I think there are foggy mechanics now, so keep a nose out during those days.

Was a great video! Wish I could play gateway. I get texture issues and tons of lag. I heard a lot of people complain about the new stamina regen, but I haven’t played enough to have an opinion. Edit: I’d say from watching you play, I like the new regen. It adds more thought into how you are going to play and when to use stamina.

In case you didn’t know why you couldn’t find food other than frogs, migrations have been added. When sniffing the symbol of Dino tracks shows where the migration spot is, which is where all the food for herbis is. Once that food is eaten a new migration spot is made. That would be where all the players are too. Herbis to eat and carnis to hunt the herd

Just a heads up for ya, those footsteps on your scent bar indicate the distance and direction of a migration zone! As a herbivore, you have to make your way to those zones in order to find food. Carnivores can see those zones too, meaning they'll travel to them to hunt. This is an attempt at creating dynamic hot spots!

This was a really nice video, sucks you never found the tenos, I hope they lived and continue to live, and for the stego reminds me when you got stuck in a tree, maybe relogging would fix them. Great video as always my man 🙌

There was no hunting in this video, of course, since you played as a Gallimimus, but nonetheless this is definitely in my top three favorite videos from you. Seeing the baby teno grow with you and make friends was very interesting. There were tense moments too, like when you got knocked flat by the carno, over all it was just a very fun video to watch. If it makes you feel better, the fact that the Carno was still in the area probably means the Tenos made a run for it while he was focused on you.

Letting you know that the footprints on your scent bar is the migration zone and it is where the food is.

Your leg will never heal until you lay down. There are migration zones now where your food is at. You had the zone on your compass a few times. It's footprints on both sides and as you get closer they fill in. 15:05 is a great example of when it was on your compass. That's where you usually find some others of your kind. The zone does change. Great video as always.

You can’t regain stamina when trotting anymore, as any creature. They nerfed everyone’s stamina regen into oblivion.

Herbivore life in the isle has always been somewhat cushy (compared to carnivores; this is coming from a herbie main!), but this new system now makes it way more challenging. Having to actually put work into your diet or you suffer the consequences is survival at its peak. Of course you'd wear out faster / be weaker with less food in your stomach/no dietary requirements met/dehydration. I don't agree with them ignoring the core issues of the game and deciding to release this map, but its a step in the right direction gameplay wise with the new changes.

I love how you find the good in a game, the thing to complement and be impressed by where others might see only downsides, but you're still not afraid to speak where you see a potential for improvement. This channel continues to be a paradise island of positivity

Gateway was the map we needed in our veins and it's such a good map. There's a lot where you are like.. "What's this?" But just as much apprehension about investigating it but... The allure to go and see, take in the sights and enjoy the map. It's been needed to feel fresh and feel better as a game. Owl time on this map to make a story is a lovely combination. Hearing your joy at the new map and trying to deal with the dangers the new map can hide. Also because of migration there isn't much of a hot spot. The Herbie's food moves so they move. Carnivores will want both sides so there won't be a congealed lil spot. There may be some in between spots but because the food and water are so separate and migration points you in their directions? I don't see there being a big central hub or hotspot for people

Love your The Isle videos! For Herbivores you need to go to migration point. When you smell you will see a large icon with footsteps and you will see a bar fill up the closer you get. Here you will find all your diet plants.

They nerfed the shit out of camouflage compared to Spiro. It’s not possible to be a complete ghost anymore, matching the grass or vegetation perfectly. I’m not a fan of that as someone who plays solo 99% of the time, as a sneaky scavenger. I love the map but hate the damn stamina nerfs and bleed nerfs to pouncing.

I don't know if you know this but when you sniff you can go to those footsteps shown and that will lead you to the migration spot with plenty of food to recover your diet

I don't mind more realistic approaches when it comes to survival-based games. It can be a very fun challenge. But, there is a difference between difficult and fun, and difficult and painful. Being too much of the latter can distract and subtract a lot of the cool elements you're trying to implement in gameplay, as it becomes a major struggle to merely exist let alone fight/evade enemies or do anything in the way of progression. I wish the game was more balanced in a way where it didn't punish people for wanting to explore and do other things, because you're constantly having to worry about getting/maintaining a 'perfect' diet if you don't want your gameplay to suck. With the premise of it being cast in a lush open-world, I find this concept to be a bit directionally lacking. And the large influence the diet system has on certain things (like taking nearly 20 minutes to heal an injury if it's low) is a bit absurd. I don't mind difficult games, but they also need to be fun and not just frustrating, especially for more non-competitive folks. I think if the devs could rethink certain aspects of the diet system, as well as allow players to not utterly lose every ounce of progress you do make and have to start all over from scratch when you die, it would potentially make for a more enjoyable experience. It can be tiresome when games feel trying to the point where you feel like you can't enjoy them to the full extent that you want, and that's intended. Games should not be difficult just for difficulty's sake.

Been watching and leaving likes on lots of your Isle videos. This one is my favorite by far because it triggers a unique nostalgia I have with Maplestory. I played that game a lot when I was a kid, and the way you found your small herd in this episode brings up fond memories of pairing up with rando's for hours at a time on that game. Just playing, chatting, questing together. And it can all end in the blink of an eye. But it feels special while it's happening. Thanks for these. I'm really enjoying the stories.

Hey Owl! i admire your patience for this game. I bought this game because of you and your videos, it looked really great and seemed like a great concept for a game i would like to play(i love survival games). but when i played it i just saw all of the flaws, how it is slow and imperfect. It has great potential and for a game from 2015 i thought there would be more updates and better gameplay. I guess not. Love the videos and i hope you play more of dayz or maybe even rust. I get that you get the most views on these kind of content, your other videos are really underrated.

Life becomes so much better after seeing announcement of new story from owltime.

Playing a carnivore in this update kinda sucks. Thanks to the devs destroying stamina, you need to spend an extra 5 minutes resting every time u run, but food and water drains at the same pace. But if you’re proactive and catch something before you’re too hungry, it’ll just rot so you can’t get a perfect diet with the organs. Herbivores have a similar issue, traveling around the map just drains your diet away.

Waiting simulator. Realism is great but you can go overboard with it.

I love how RU-vidrs and very few people can play the game with graphic settings that look good, everyone else has to put all the graphic settings at the lowest point to keep FPS at 30 to 40 which makes it look like some scrap PS3 game. 😮‍💨

Your videos got me to buy the Isle after having watched people play the game for so long, since it first came out, really. It's cruel, punishing, and sometimes death in it is just downright unfair, but that's how nature is. My only complaint with it so far is that the audio loves to bug out and lag, ESPECIALLY during rainstorms.

In the first 20seconds, that Gate, I was a Cerasaurus in AUS#1, and if you hug the fence on the otherside toward the left, thats where I nest. Best place too, inbetween North Migration and South Migration.

Outstanding content OWL! Super immersive as aways! If your guesing what those new icons with the footprints are, that's the new migration mechanic. That's where your herbie food will spawn, exclusively. So in order to eat the proper veggies for your diet, you must follow it until you are inside the migration zone, that will be indicated by the progress bar (which indicates how near you are to the zone) outside the footprints encompassing the whole compass (what a great sentence lol).

One tip: they changed the leg break system so that when your standing leg break doesn’t heal so you have to sit for it to heal

this is why i love the isle, the random moments with other players like meeting some random baby teno to have it grow with you and become your companion. the fact that you don't need to talk and can communicate with the calls and body movements make me always come back to this game. you can't do that in BoB or PoT (and legacy isle lol). loved the video owltime, to me you're the best the isle youtuber.

You will want to customize the dino you pick when is its adault form sins THAT is what the dino will end up looking like.
