Jennifer Hudson didn’t impress me what so ever, not saying she doesn’t have a voice because she does, she’s amazing, but she didn’t do it for me, the girl in yellow, she brought me to tears and brings out some serious emotions, the way she hit those notes, gives me goose bumps...Jennifer Hudson didn’t even know the song she needed a card to read the lyrics from, and she needed to add so much extra, the minute she started singing it went flat, she didn’t sing from the heart, the song doesn’t touch her soul, and you can tell, she didn’t sing purple rain, she just sang to show her vocal range.... I wanna see the girl in yellow sing the whole song through so I can cry

The BEST Prince tribute ever ! ....Jennifer Hudson is amazing BUT THE GIRL IN YELLOW....who is she?????? what an out of this world voice and performance by the girl in yellow.....man....she deserves to have a recording career.....i would buy her music anyday.....what an incredible UNIQUE voice....who is she????????????? WOW !!! have listened to this over and over and over again....can never get tired of it....feel SO SPIRITUAL right now.....goosebumps...:) RIP my sweet PRINCE...a true sexy legend

My advise to you is go see The Color Purple on Broadway. You will truly understand who the star of the show is and you will never again need to ask who Cynthia Erivo is.

This has got to be the most soulful rendition of Purple Rain I have ever heard. These actors/singers brought me to tears with this. I have deliberately stayed away from Prince's music, just so I don't cry and just go and look what I have done. Damn..... I can at least say I saw Prince in concert. It was way back in 84, during his Purple Rain tour. I was very, very pregnant, with super great seats........near center and 4 rows back! Those were the best seats at a concert, for me, ever! It was also one of the very best live shows I have ever seen, also, by anyone. Prince was a superb talent. He could sing beautifully, dance wonderfully and speak eloquently and to me, he was a beautiful bit of eye candy. =) I know I shall miss him and his great talent.
