We purchased the Ice HD as I am small seat challenged. Love almost everything about it, the one negative with the Rohloff hub is you have to stop peddling to shift. This takes you out of your cadence a bit but is really only a problem if you are in the wrong gear in the middle of a hill. This situation can be almost catastrophic, thank goodness it happened on a small hill. Get into the highest e-assist mode and a much lower gear and almost stop at the bottom to ensure you are set. Once you have the process down it’s ok. I use to bike a lot then children came and biking took a back seat. I got back my old bike made it about 5 minutes and my butt hurt and I said enough. Very comfortable, on a side note when I go for a walk my knees kill me, when I go for a ride they stop hurting.
I have the HD version and love it. Its very comfortable to ride. I can fit the trike into the wife's compact. It's not cheap but you pay for the excellent build quality . ICE customer services is second to none.
I adore my ICE Adventure with the 750 watt Bafang motor. I call it The Beast. It is so much fun and incredibly comfortable. Superb piece of engineering.
I rode an Adventure at CycleCon last weekend. Nice trike, for sure. ICE trike quality is super nice. I was hoping to see Utahtrikes at the event but they passed on it. Too busy building and selling trikes is my guess.
Adding the optional Ice rear rack to the Adventure limits how compact it gets when folded. That’s a problem if you fold it often. But it’s super comfortable.
Agree. Having said that I can get into the back of my daughters VW Polo folded and with the rear optional rack (it doesn't fully fold with it fitted) . If it's a problem it's only four screws to remove this and only takes a few minutes.
Give my friend a rockstar! You’re very articulate knowledgeable, and you give a very clean, concise video great job, I look forward to doing business with you guys!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I had a Terra trike folding recumbent. Years ago. No suspension or fenders. Seat was mesh, very hard ride. Bought it with 26" rear wheel, then added E. Sold it later and bought a Rad mini 4 Bike 2 wheel 20"E Bike. I have 4460mi on it with only adjustments. When you buy, don't buy cheap !
Speaking of chains, I think you’re playing my chain with his bike! Holy smokes does it come with a video on how to use? I save this video to show friends and I said to remember remind myself with this thing to do the dream bike for sure. Thank you much, I’ll be in the gym working out so that I can ride this sucker seize the day carpe diem
Jarod-fantastic job! Great concise presentation! Hope to see more of you in future videos!, My one question is- as new years/ models come out, do the older years ever go on sale?
Where do I send the bill? Awesome job but the one problem I have is I have rules. All of my iPad. Watch this video! Killing me smalls……. EJ great job covering this trike and you sold me on it. If I don’t get one today, I will put it on my wish list for next year. Thank you and have a good day.
My question is can you fit a shimano EP8 on a Catrike Dumont or 559, is the boom the same size or other way to fit it, I like the power on the shimano 85Nm as oppose to 50Nm for bosch. Or can you upgrade the Bosch to a higher power. I know bosch have more powerfull motor available
ANY modifications to the frame or power supplied, i.e. electric motor, will void the frames warranty. Also if you overload it(Too much weight) or put it to use other than what it is designed for (Extreme off roading) will Void the warranty. If you are unsure contact ICE and ask them, they're very friendly, helpful and interested in helping people to get the best experience on their trikes. I live in Scotland and have always delt directly with them. My oldest ICE trice is an XL from 2004, Basically a forerunner of the Sprint with Hope hub 20" wheels, Cane creek rear suspension and Hope hydraulic disc brakes. My latest is the Sprint FS also 20" wheels and Son dyno hub. Both have Full Mud guards (Fenders) My 2006 Qnt is my go to everyday ride. To date none have E assist.
You can buy an Electric model from ICE with Shimano Steps for that price $$$. BUT if you want to put a high powered motor on one, it will void the warranty on ANY brand of cycle not just ICE. In short, if you want an E-bike, BUY an E-Bike as they're designed and engineered for it. P.S. ICE have replaced 7 frames under warranty in the last 13yrs and the majority of them were older models 2006-2010, they have not had to replace one in the last 4yrs, at least that's what they told me. At least one was well out of warranty plus he was not even the original owner and wasn't looking for a warranty, just a replacement cruciform for the one he had broken in an accident.
Your website is the worst for browsing. Where is your main product page ? Can't separate from quad and trikes. Quads are named trikes. No filters. And worst design to operate on mobile screen.
