My mum sent in my name for my 1st or 2nd birthday (12/17/86 or 87). I’ve always been hopeful that one day, I would be able to not just watch to hear miss Judy say my name, but to watch it and actually remember watching it. Thank you for at least giving me a little glimpse into that time in my life:)
Before cable, this was where you could see a few cartoons during the weekdays! I loved Miss Judy! Sometimes a man named ‘Uncle Ted’ would substitute or visit. He attempted a ‘Svengoolie’ type of horror show - but it never took off.
As a Pittsburgh person Mr. Rodgers is beloved but you all probably missed locally produced “The land of Hatchy Milatchy” which has the best theme song evs
She came to our school for an outdoor fair and she wanted me to play a game on cue for camera shot. When I went ahead and just played (it was something like put-put golf) she yelled at me and told the camera crew to do another take. I look back and laugh but to see behind the Miss Judy curtain as a child was a bit disconcerting. LOL.
