I had been told by someone that there was no clear history on this mine and that it may have been used in a movie decades ago, which it may have been, however someone else clarified for me that it was first mined in the early 80's by a man named Wiliam Sagerman who was pulling Platinum, Palladium, and Rhodium out of it. I don't know why he stopped other than he was in his 60's but that's not an official reason. Maybe the ore faded, maybe he should have gone down rather than across. It's a mystery to me at this point. I hope you enjoy this short walk.
The old road that you see in the video might be an evolution of the old El Camino Viejo route that once was the main connection between southern and northern California.
